La montagna dei diamanti (1991)
Simply the best
This is my favorite TV series. I never saw anything that beautiful on TV. It's a diamond itself. I just feel I have to express my incomprehension here on IMDb. I cannot understand that it is so hard to find on the internet. Why did it disappear from TV? I'd pay a lot of money just to watch it one more time. The scenery is absolutely stunning. The storyline is immersive. The acting is great as far as I can remember. I was only 12 when I saw it for the last time, but it hasn't left my mind ever since. This series is to me like an old lover you cannot forget. If you like romantic movies, you shouldn't miss this one. Can someone please dig it out.
Moulin Rouge! (2001)
The worst movie I've seen for a long time
OK, there are not a lot of things to say or write about this movie as there are not a lot of things to say or write about it. I just "watched" it a few hours ago and my ears are still aching. This movie is loud. Everybody is yelling and running around.
I really cannot say I watched this movie but I tried. And I tried hard. After about 30 minutes I fell asleep. Fortunately the screaming voices of the fat and ugly Moulin-Rouge dancers awoke me. I started forwarding to the next scene that seemed to be of any importance. Unfortunately it was the end. So I got back to the Moulin-Rouge jumping and screaming dancers and tried again to find something interesting. Actually I reduced the rest of the movie (about one hour) to 5 minutes.
My tip: Reduce the whole thing to 10 minutes and make a music clip out of it. Or even better: cut all the dancing scenes, just keep McGregor and Kidman as main characters, slow all the pacing down and give it an open end. Oh sorry, someone just told me Dior already had this idea but Ewan McGregor wasn't available for the shooting.
My unanswered questions: 1st - Where is the praised passion in this movie? You can find more passion in the eyes of Cary Grant kissing Eva Marie Saint in North by Northwest than in the whole Moulin-Rouge thing. 2nd - What is so sexy about this movie? The naked flesh you see from time to time?
I still don't regret to have partly seen the movie. I discovered Ewan McGregor's lovely voice.
