The Veil (2024)
Good so far
As of right now, only the first two episodes are available for streaming, but so far I like it. I like Elizabeth Moss' portrayal of the lead character, Imogene and the tension building between the two lead characters. The story is both plausible and interesting. They do a good job of creating a fear of the threat posed by the terrorist they're looking for while leaving you guessing as to whether the woman traveling with Imogene is that terrorist or not. The relationship and interactions between these two characters is good in these first two episodes and should continue to grow through the rest of the season.
The Peripheral (2022)
Hang in there. It gets better and better.
I can only conclude that the people who gave this series a low rating did not have the patience to make it to the "What about Bob?" episode, "Doodad"or beyond. The acting is excellent. The production value is high and the mood is enhanced greatly by the visuals. Plus, like any good thriller there's a bad guy you'll love to hate. The "good guys" are very likable, and the camaraderie among them is fun and natural. No doubt, this will appeal most to those who love sci-fi, who have an imagination and can notice the small things and ask questions about them. It's a fun ride; but be patient and watch all the episodes.
