The Goodbye Girl (1977)
My 6 yr old's favorite film!
When Goodbye Girl was promoted during the Christmas season 1977, my son decided he wanted to take me to see it. New Year's Day just the 2 of us. Front row, on my lap with his arm around me. Best film ever!
You Belong to Me (2014)
Accurate portrayal
Accurate portrayal of southern life in the 50s and 60s. Although I was a child, the only black person I saw in 5 yrs in small town Georgia was the janitor at Rexall drug store. No one outside the situation can imagine what life was like. My "small experience" was nothing except to make me a spectator.
Jusqu'au déclin (2020)
On the topic of subtitles
I thoroughly enjoyed this film. Loved the intensity of it all. The script, acting, and cinematography were great. However, I watched the English version. For me, it takes nothing away from what's on screen. Reading the screen takes away from the visual. I prefer to concentrate on cinematography. But that's just me.
Vivir dos veces (2019)
A Film You Can Watch With Your Family
Reviewers need to get their heads out of their a**es. Just because the star of the film is a professor doesn't mean we're looking for academic reviews. This was a film that spanned 3 generations and did it well. Each thought they knew it all but their interactions, just like life, taught them a thing or two ... about life. The relationship between the grandfather and granddaughter held the most charm. The parents lived in their own little world avoiding all that life threw at them. I could relate to the aging grandfather as well as the young girl. The film had a wonderful pace laced with comedy of all sorts. I highly recommend it. Good family comedy-drama.
