Terror Taxi (2000)
5/10
Make's no sense at all
15 November 2006
Warning: Spoilers
Taxi driver dies. He becomes a ghost taxi driver. He meets other ghosts who are taxi drivers too. One evil ghost taxi driver wants to... Actually i was not able to figure out what he wanted to do. There's two possibilities. Either i am too stupid or this movie makes no sense at all. I mean there's a plot but it's so full of holes that you just end up watching this movie wondering why this and that happened. So many things are left unexplained. Don't get me wrong. I like movies that let you use your imagination and your own interpretation but enoughs enough. So many things in this movie just happened almost without reason. Like there were parts missing or something. The main plot is easy to follow, but i found myself asking over and over again why the characters are doing what they are doing. Why he wants to kill that one etc. The only thing good in this film was a character who spoke English one liners. At least i got few pretty good laughs out of him.

Frankenström (2001 Video)
1/10
Crap, crap, crap
27 October 2006
That sums up the whole movie. The movie is clearly made just to entertain few friends. The plot is absolutely stupid, "acting" is simply terrible and the dialog sounds like it had been improvised during shooting. The special-fx though are pretty good for a no-budget film like this. There's few pretty good jokes like the occult library of a mad scientist which includes necronomicon, and kama-sutra. The use of Finnish V-word (equivalent for English F-word) gets to your nerves. I mean it's said about 200 times and enough is enough. If you like very bad movies this one's for you. The DVD release includes lots of extras, like the short movie "El' Pok Erimas Sacre" which is actually much better than Frankenström.

Narok (2005)
7/10
Good hangover entertainment
23 October 2006
I liked this movie. The plot is pretty stupid but the atmosphere and "beautiful" landscapes from hell make it worth watching. Oh... and the torture scenes too hehehe. The hell looks great and the demons and other monsters look convincing enough. Naturally the devil and the demons with horns and cloven hoofs from western tradition are replaced with monsters from thai folklore (i think). The devil looks like a bloated samurai, and the demons like thai-uruk-hai. But it doesn't matter because they look pretty cool. Fans of Asian fantasy/horror movies will like this movie, but if you're not into Asian movies you'll probably would enjoy Lord of the Rings (or Willow) more. Narok is not a masterpiece, but it's a movie worth watching. It's a great movie to watch when you're having a hangover as we say in Finland.
