Delicate
24 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Skip this season. I think AI adapted this because it's so bland. There is zero character development. I don't care about any of them...and believe me, I tried. Emma Roberts is wonderful and believable, but that's it, full stop. The entire myopic plot is: Smearing and eating baby parts at satan's direction is the fountain of youth and fame. That's the whole season.

All the antagonists are dreadfully boring. All the 'witches' are terrible actors. It's comical watching them try to deliver 'evil' lines. I'll give it one star because their lack of skill did make me laugh.

There's not a single character/protagonist you feel for, have empathy for because again, the script development is so thin, so very shallow. I cancelled my future recordings after watching the last 2 episodes of Part 2 after the break.

Black Is King (2020)
It's just "okay"
5 August 2020
Basically a bunch of dancing with boring backgrounds. There's no "wow" moments. I expected some great cinematography, but it literally gave nothing more than you could shoot off your iPhone.

The OA (2016–2019)
Being Back the OA
21 January 2020
I hope this gets picked up by Hulu or Apple. Netflix has become too formulaic in their decision making in about originals in this genre; leaning heavy on teenage tropes. The OA was some of the most original and inspiring shows I'd seen on Netflix, if not the most.

NBC...listen up
6 November 2019
We think of late night hosts as people we'd like to hang out with at a party.. you know, not annoying, always there with a good story, easy to get along, interactive, who don't put themselves on a pedestal. They naturally draw people in. THAT is what late night hosts SHOULD do. When we're tired and just want some easy going entertainment before falling asleep. People like Fallon, Conan, etc. But after giving Lilly a good two weeks, it's crystal clear she's the one at the party everyone would run to avoid. NBC doesn't care about viewers. It's CLEAR now.

Harriet (I) (2019)
A dishonor to an amazing woman
3 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I attend a HBCU and have read, and studied, Harriet Tubman's life. I don't even know where to begin. There is no account of her ever standing with Union soldiers and pointing a gun. There are so many errors and what I saw on the screen was complete fiction. I wasn't expecting a documentary, of course, but the woman they portrayed lived a completely different life to everything I've been taught by professors who live and breathe African American history. Hollywood should be ashamed.

The Twilight Zone: The Comedian (2019)
Season 1, Episode 1
Tracy Morgan only good part
11 April 2019
Terrible writing, just not suspenseful or interesting at all. I had a glimmer of hope when Morgan appeared, because he was the ONLY good part, but they didn't give him enough material. Whomever wrote this should hang their head in shame.

Amy Schumer: Growing (2019 TV Special)
Please Netflix, invest in other female comedians
21 March 2019
What's with the reviewers who say "As a woman...."? Like that should matter and implying just because you're a women, you should love it? Yes, I'm a woman, but even if I weren't, I can't imagine how anyone would think this is deserving of another Netflix special. Can she write anyone other than "vag jokes"? If they were actually funny, then cool. But, they're not. I can't think of any male comedian who does a full set of practically nothing but NOT FUNNY d*ck jokes. If she's trying to brand herself as "nasty," fine. But, don't subject paying subscribers to this. There are so many other funny, female, comedians that Netflix could be investing in.

Almost walked out
18 March 2019
The only good part of this movie were the last 2 scenes/fight at the end. So I guess (?) I'm glad I stayed for that. Nothing else was redeemable. My husband hated it too. What a waste.

Dante's Inferno 9 levels of hell
11 March 2019
I didn't realize until about halfway through that the plot seemed to follow Dante's 9 Levels of Hell. Once that kicked in, it was even more interesting to watch. I also enjoyed the alternate ending.

Killed by Opioid OD? Disgraceful
22 October 2018
ABC thinks audiences find OPIOID overdoses comical? Really? When there's an opioid crisis in this country and many families are suffering due to it, it's made into a joke to kill off the Queen? Other than that, it's like the writers are simpletons without Roseanne at the helm. There isn't a single program on ABC worth watching.

Charmed (2018–2022)
The one good thing....
15 October 2018
Rupert Evans is GREAT. There's no denying he's the best thing (the only thing) redeeming about this show.

I haven't watched the previous Charmed series, so this review comes from a clean slate. The pilot moved at warp speed with very little background info about the mom. The sisters had zero chemistry and not enough backstory for me to care about them at all. The only thing I got from it was that they're feminists, don't like cis-male professors, and punch others in the face who disagree with them. I don't mind politics but come on.

I would've liked to see more about how they plan to control their gifts, less anger and more heart, some room to breathe in the writing so I could connect with these characters.

I'm not going to say anything bad about the actors because I don't think it's their fault they were given a terrible script and roles.

Maybe CW should've gone with Wayward Sisters and Legacies instead of this. I will not be tuning in again.

Great guest. Uninspiring host..
15 October 2018
I really wanted to love this show, as I'm a fan of Baldwin. However, he seems more interested in grandizing himself rather than being engaged in the conversation. Most late night hosts - or any host (Fallon, Kimmel, et al) are great because they let the guests shine and can pivot on the fly based on what they get the guests to open up about. In the first episode, he clearly talks FAR more than the guest (De Niro) to the point it looked like he, De Niro, was getting bored. I think this show is trying to aim at long form, "smart," conversation; I don't know. Either way, it doesn't hit the mark. It's not clever. It's not funny. It's not educational. It's just Alec monologuing with himself with a few moments in between dedicated to the guest. It didn't flow.
