Soft-core porn on Netflix
1 January 2023
I was astonished that this was even a choice on netflix. I thought maybe there was a good story here, but it is soft core porn, period. Not impressed at all. There is a lady who talks softly about how hot things are with viewing into other apartments across her way. She hacks into their computers to watch? But yet it shows that she lives right across and can see in without using a computer. So far the first 15 minutes is filled with her describing hot sex, then her friend comes over to discuss....you got it: hot sex. As if that is all people talk about. This is so fake and messed up. And there are no warnings you are about to watch a soft-core porn flick. I'm getting really tiresome of Netflix lately. It seems I can find better movies on Amazon prime or Hulu.

Says it was a comedy. It wasn't funny.
31 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I thought this would be interesting and was really interested in the chemical spill part of the movie and I was sure it was going to let that play out. Nope. But that would have been interesting. Instead this movie takes you on a really weird trippy journey in lives of people who just talk a lot. They get most of their words wrong or make up words as they go along and I found that really irritating. I'm not sure what that trope was about but, I hope not to see that again.

This is like an over-the-top dram(edy)--even though it isn't funny, about mundane people who can't focus on any one thing to save their lives. A mundane family of which the father is a professor who teaches Nazism (yeah of all things). There are other odd professors also in the same school who teach oddball stuff. One guy thinks Elvis is the sh** and lectures on that, while at the same time loves movie car crashes. None of the movie makes much sense and I became exhausted trying to figure out what they were saying that I just had to give up about 3/4 way through. The chemical spill did nothing for the film unless they wanted to make the movie about that, otherwise it was just there and as unrelated as everything else in the movie.

To compare this to anything would be like trying to imagine you have dementia for about an hour and a half. Yup. That is a good summation.

Very enjoyable! Bring on next season!
23 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This had me thoroughly entertained. Sure there were a few plot holes, but I still enjoyed this for what it was, which is a very entertaining story. I did watch the first season of "Into The Night" and this felt very much like that. I think I will go back and watch the second season of that one so I will be caught up on this realm.

The sun is spewing dangerous and deadly substances that kill once the sun rises on planet earth. In this story, we start out with Defne who recruits her ex-boyfriend and his crew to do a dive in his vessel, the Oya. They dive down and when they come up after many hours, they notice no-one is on the ship that they docked off of. Everyone is gone. So they dive again and they end up in Kos, where another submarine (Yakamoz s-245) is, just as they run out of electrical energy for the Oya. This is where they find many have died in Kos and ultimately they are invited onboard the Yakamoz s-245 submarine as they begin to outrun the sun.

The atmosphere in the situations they are in is tense so everyone is not acting like their usual selves. Tensions wax and wane and with it are sub-plots in the overall story that are pretty good as the crew advances from base to base to find out any information that they can.

Finally the truth
16 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The entire time all of these headlines were coming out, we find out it was the royal institution feeding the stories and okaying the stories the entire time. They fed Meghan to the media frenzy. I always stood up for Meghan but became miffed with it all when I read an article about racism. For some reason I couldn't fathom it, but it was real. The racism factor was real for her. The media fed on it. Then I remembered about Piers Morgan running his mouth about the whole thing and part of me started to doubt things but that is just how the media wanted it portrayed.

The tabloids--there are like 6 of them--have space on all of their front pages for royal gossip. To cut gossip from other royals they would feed the gossip rags Meghan lies. Then it was Harry's turn. Their own family did this to them! Does anyone not understand that? Even the Queen knew about this. They all knew about it. That is why they (royal insiders) asked: "since all the wives went through this, why is Meghan any different, what makes her so special?" This is why Diana is dead. Just because the media blurts it out all over the place doesn't make anything true.

The documentary goes on and discusses the split and it is shocking. The betrayal in this family is truly heart-breaking. All in the name of keeping the royal institution whole. I think that is a bunch of hogwash. You would think that a family could still go on to do good works without tearing each other apart and feeding each other to the wolves.

I am 100% behind Harry and Meghan now. The Oprah interview didn't do it. That made them out to look greedy and I wonder if that was on purpose as well. This time they do it themselves and this time it is done right. Well done. My apologies to both of you for anything negative I ever said against you.

The Dinner (I) (2017)

What a mess
26 November 2022
Incredible actors take on horrible roles and head to a diner to have flashbacks that do not really make sense except maybe for the guy who has mental issues and who compares life to war. You find out the first hint of the plot I think during soup time. I may be wrong on this as dinner was such a mess. Then I think by dessert you get to the rest of the plot and they finally discuss the boys and what they think should happen to them. I don't want to give spoilers so I will be vague, but it doesn't matter, really and if you watch, you will know what I mean. I seriously gave this one star. There is only one reason I give a movie one star and that would be a spoiler. Watch at your own peril.

Iconic!
18 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I really liked this. It was entertaining and over-the-top but it worked and in a good way. I loved the actress who played Penelope. She really nailed her part in such a fun way. I was waiting to watch this as I was hearing not so great things, but I will never let that sway me again. This was a really fun and exciting movie. Well done and well played by everyone.

Frank goes home to find that his wife has cheated on him in an up front kind of way. Like the neighbors could probably see what was going on...lol. So he takes his troubles to a tavern/bar and there he meets Penelope who tries to work him over but I think she realizes Frank isn't just any ordinary guy and she soon falls for him. From there they have a really exciting and somewhat scary adventure. You will not regret watching this movie.

So what is the punch line?
29 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I missed the ending. It wasn't there. I wish someone could explain what happened to go from all of the screaming, drowning, abuse, baby crying to happy family swinging in a swing? It's like a big chunk of the movie was taken out. I feel like I want my time back.

It annoyingly starts off with a baby just shrieking and I found myself having to lower the volume and missing the beginning dialogue. I guess that should have been my cue to just miss this film altogether, but nooo Emma Roberts is starring in this film and I like her so I kept going. I wish I hadn't of. I hate that feeling when you finish a movie and are just pi**ed afterwards. That is me, now.

The making of someone who isn't okay
12 October 2022
This is an example of an internet tale where the main character craves attention in her life as well she has her eye on a guy. She then creates a story about herself that isn't true, about being in Paris. Then the impossible happens and a terrorist attack takes place about 5 minutes at the same spot she last fake-posted herself at. She then decides to carry her story forward and claims she was there and witnessed the bombing. Of course this creates her online following to go up, up, and up. The story progresses from there but just know that Danni, the main character is totally self-serving.

She meets new people along the way all the while soaking up the attention and becomes friends with Rowan who just happened to have experienced real trauma from surviving a school shooting. The two become fast friends but Danni's original intentions were to just get ideas from Rowan so she could write an article about her Paris experience. So, soon after Rowans ideas become her own and an article is written.

The movie is good. Danni is a selfish and spoiled person unlike her friend, Rowan, although Rowan has no idea Danni is a fraud at first.

Terrible Crimes By a Mother and her Guru Husband
18 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This was an interesting documentary putting all of the information together regarding the horrific death trail left by Lori and Chad Daybell. It begins by telling Lori's story before she even meets Chad talking about her previous husbands and her unhealthy relationships beforehand. Keep in mind her children were witness to all of this and were victims of one of her husbands as the doc will explain. Through it all she finally meets book author/guru of sorts, Chad Daybell.

I followed this story in the news but bits and pieces of the story were ongoing for many months before finally finding Lori and Chad. Not a lot was said about Chad but this show explains more about his beliefs and Lori is sucked in easily. Soon after people begin to die off. It starts off with her current husband Charles Vallow and goes on from there. I have seen where people think the son Colby should have played a bigger role in helping to protect his siblings but you have to remember he grew up in her topsy-turvy world too, so when he was old enough he probably just wanted to get away from it all. Not only that, he was still really young himself and the last thing he expected was something awful to happen. I give kudos to him as he did keep in continual contact with her or tried to.

Anyway this is a good watch. Things are explained in chronological order although I wished they had delved deeper into Chad's belief system and more about Lori's podcast she had going. They could have easily added another episode covering just these things, but aside from that I rated this pretty high.

Extreme Paranormal (2009– )

Way over the top!
13 September 2022
This gives real paranormal researchers a bad rap. This show is nothing to look to when imagining paranormal activity. This should be under the comedy section. Not to mention the fact that they like to bleed for offerings. This is so out there, I have no idea how it got the green light to go, but yet here we are reviewing it. I didn't see this getting great reviews from others and so I came here and saw that it is not doing well. This is a good thing because this isn't something you would want your family watching. A warning label would be good: Too bloody stupid to watch!

Don't take my word for it. Head on over to Hulu to give it a watch. I bet you don't last the full episode.

A very scary tale for this pregnant woman
26 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Amazing acting by all in this. The story keeps your interest all the while making you go a bit crazy yourself wondering how this could be happening to this woman. They throw a bit of everything at this woman including phycological mind tricks, gaslighting, confinement, poison, more gaslighting, thievery, and more. She survives it all and just when you think the madness will end....

Great Show/Sad it was Canceled!
26 July 2022
This was a really great show. Everyone was growing into their characters', and the story was getting really into the meat of things when this was up and canceled. I was very disappointed to find this out. I would love to see this make a come-back. There is not another show that even comes close to this or another story that even compares. It was so original and well done. I am not sure about the truth of the story, but this tale was being well told from all perspectives and I liked it for that. An old coal town where people were out of work hoping to bring back jobs by mining on the nearby mountain. The mountain clans and their heritage of living on the mountain for over a century who don't want to move away. The day-to-day and individual hardships of life on and off the mountain. The beauty of it all. I loved this show.

Ridiculous
10 July 2022
This show is bad. Everything is blown up into some kind of major happening when it is actually explained away easily. The guy nicknamed Dragon has no business being on this kind of a team, but for dramatics--he suits the bill. This show is all for dramatics and that is about it. All huff and puff to show nothing. I love in one of the first episodes where the laser quits working and Dragon said he did everything to try and fix it, and it actually shows him doing nothing to try to fix it...LOL.

This was a mess
8 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This was like watching two different movies in one. The first half and the last half which were two totally different things. The first half focuses on a demon-possessed nun. A priest and his assistant priest-in-waiting try to do an exorcism.

The second half is all about another nun who left the convent and how her life is. It is dull and boring and leads nowhere. I found the entirety of it all really messy.

Into the Night (II) (2020–2021)

Enjoyable Show!
23 August 2020
Please ignore negative reviews on this and give it a try before disregarding this show. I am a pretty hard critic when it comes to movies and series and I found myself really enjoying this for what it is. Yes there are a few questions you will have that may not get answered right away and yes some of the characters may get annoying but to me that is what makes this so interesting.

So it goes a little something like this: Many characters end up on this flight that you will come to know all for different reasons. One of the main characters Sylvie was a helicopter pilot who has just lost her beloved boyfriend and takes one last trip before as she wants to end her own life. Tprenzio is the Italian soldier who says he is with NATO who decides to hijack the plane before it is fully boarded and tells the pilot that the sun is going to kill them if they don't take off now. Being that the pilot is not on board yet, Sylvie takes the place of the co-pilot while the co-pilot pilots the plane.

Chaos ensues as no one knows what is going on but the plane gets off the ground and the decision is made not to tell the passengers what is really going on at first. Each decision is dire as the plane only holds so much fuel and it has to get to its next stop to refuel and take off again according to Torenzio. No one really believes him, but he is the one holding the gun. What happens next is up to you to find out. This is a pretty gripping tale and just take it all in stride. I found it very enjoyable and interesting to watch. My only gripe is that it ended and am hoping the second season hurries up and comes out!

Biohackers (2020–2021)
5/10
So so
22 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
If you have nothing else to watch...this is doable. I like the female lead but honestly a lot of the other actors are a bit off. Maybe they didn't have a chance with the way the story is written, but the flatmates are super over-the-top annoying surpassing cliche.

The story is okay with a doctor who works with gene editing and wants to save the world even if it hurts others. I feel like I am in a de ja vu watching this as other than the gene editing and the trendy bio hacky concepts, the plot basically sticks to good girl wants to get the bad guy (or woman) and goes about doing it by spying and then getting in on the action to take her down, etc. etc. Cat meet mouse and so on. Nothing overly clever stands out, but again, if there isn't anything else great to watch...this isn't horrible....just a bit tired. I think the female lead really makes the story more interesting and I am hoping for something fantastic to happen. (I am in episode 6) I rate this a 5.

I tried, but so this is so frustrating it hurts to watch
5 August 2020
I really tried to like this, but it is so frustrating to watch! There is so much nonsense going on...so many wrong decisions that you are left frustrated and it feels almost like work watching the film. A young female couple goes to a getaway cabin in the woods that belongs to Jackie's grandfather for a weekend. Right away we learn that Jackie is not Jackie but grew up as Meghan as her old neighbor drops by to check on the cabin because she saw the lights were on. This alerts her wife that things may not be what they seem, but Jackie sets things straight that she changed her name when she came out as gay as she wanted a new name with a brand new life. So far so good. There is an undercurrent of "something still ain't right" but this is a building excitement I felt in the beginning of the film hoping this was going to be a really good show. Believe me, it isn't. It is literally one bad choice after another and feels like watching Scooby Doo from here on out, only worse. At least Scooby Doo is cute. Neither one of these girls is cute anymore.

6 OUT OF 10 FOR SEASON 3
23 June 2020
I really enjoyed the first two seasons of Ozark. The show has been dark and gritty as Marty and his family try to survive an impossible situation working for the cartel. Season 1, we see how Marty outwits Del into letting him live and moving his family to the Ozarks to launder money for the cartel. We meet all the Ozark characters and a few cartel characters. Season 2 carries the torch and without divulging details to not give spoilers away, I will just say that Season 2 is amazing! Gambling is the game of Season 2. Season 3: This season disappoints me. There is too much conflict between Marty and Wendy and they make Wendy out to be horrid to say it mildly. Decisions are made that make you cringe, but at the same time the story is kept anti-climatic. I was not that impressed. The season is left open for another one to start. I hope the next one is better.

All over the place...
22 June 2020
The first two seasons were very interesting. I had some beefs, but the story kept me interested enough to keep watching. I was shocked how the writers pulled some things off with finalizing some of the story lines , but overall satisfied with what I have watched with the first two seasons. I couldn't wait until season three.

Oh, boy....here we are in season three. I don't even know how to describe this mess. Marcella's character has changed so drastically that the show has become incredibly dull, much like herself. It is difficult to understand exactly what is happening because the story is not explained well enough. Marcella has become a dulled down version of her former self as far as personality, but with a shiny new wig and a cute outfit change here and there. I am really disappointed. I am giving the series a "5" because the first two seasons were good, but this last season has taken many points away.

Would have been better as a series
9 April 2020
A young girl is raised in an attic her entire childhood by a man she thinks is her father. He protects her all the while she has electric locks on her door and bars on her windows. As she grows, he tells her strange stories and gives her strange medicine. He hides her away when people visit....she grows older...I won't give any more information without spoiling the plot from here...It is a good story so I will give this a 5, but: I felt like the movie was too rushed and it felt like a lot was missing from it. There wasn't time to really bond with any of the characters. I felt the acting was pretty okay, but I felt Liz Tyler could have pulled more out of her character, but again it could have been because the movie was so rushed and character building wasn't a part of what was happening for a lot of the character's played. It was a great story and I feel that this had a lot of promise, but because it lacked all of the detail it should have contained, it fell short.

Fabulous Series
31 March 2020
Freud was an easy binge watch. I was not expecting it to be so easy to watch. I was expecting a stiff uppity doctor who thought about women's sex organs most of the time. I got part of it right, but not all....lol. Freud is a determined psychiatrist and neurologist who is learning about hypnosis. There is also mystery and murder running about in the series as well as some Hungarian socialites doing some strange things and have a medium girl living with them named Fleur. Everyone and everything slowly intertwine and become entangled as the story starts unfolding. There are 8 episodes and each one is just as good as the last. Enjoy!

Love Is Blind (2020– )
8/10
All the pretty people...
21 February 2020
Warning: Spoilers
All of these people were 10's to start with, so love isn't blind. They knew this going in. They knew that everyone was on their A game according to fitness, attractiveness, intelligence and other factors. Those three main factors were varied in to the equation to begin with. The show also doesn't add in all of the other variables that goes into a relationship with regards to everyday distractions even though they try to make you think that they do, ie: making them all live together in the same apartment complex and by giving them their phones back. This isn't the same at all, but whatever, it is what it is. I do give credit to the show being binge watchable as the whole concept is so crazy!

Just some comments to add about the contestants and couples:

Jesssica and Mark: Jessica needs to get over herself and quit lying to everyone, especially herself. She strings Mark along like a toy. She keeps trying to hang onto hope that there is something between her and Barnette continually going after him. It's funny and annoying...just stop it! Mark is a beautiful soul. He would lay down his life for this woman. He deserves more than she can give him. I don't see this couple working out. He deserves someone that can also given to him what he needs and deserves.

Cameron and Lauren: Cameron is head over heels for Lauren. The issue: He is white while she is black. It doesn't have to be an issue but in all reality they do need to deal with it and I don't think they are. She comes from a strong black family who are very proud of their black roots. Her mother admits that her father may not be all cracked up to Cameron being white. He does agree to give him a chance...but will Lauren? The show doesn't really give the couples time to iron out real issues. Lauren is holding back and I think this might be the problem. Both are beautiful souls, and could be really happy together. Definitely hoping Lauren comes around, but understand if she needs more time.

Giannina and Damian: Giannina is my favorite person in this entire show. She glows with personality....good and naughty...lol. Damian and her go through ups and downs and they both seem eager to work through it all. She is so passionate, dynamic and beautiful, and he is so handsome and romantic. I am really rooting for these two. I hope they make it! They have the strength of 10 couples rolled up into one.

Barnette and Amber: I didn't really like the idea of these two at first, but they have grown on me. The more I see them, the more I like them together. They fit like a glove. Barnette reminds me of a Sharpei puppy...lol. Regardless, I am rooting for these two and I seem them making it.

Too much fluff...
16 February 2020
I hate when a series could be turned easily into a movie by removing 90% of the non-needed material. That is what this show feels like. There are a lot of scenes that do not add to the story, thus it feels like the show drags on forever. Then when there is a semi-conclusion, it isn't satisfying enough for the long wait you have sat just sat through. It is a good story, good acting, good writing, just too much fluff!

Bend-watch series
23 January 2020
A girl from a semi broken family with her dad working non-stop and Rosa takes care of her ill mom when he is a way...this prevents a lot of that could happen in her own life and so she found herself invited to a special club. The night that she goes with her new friends including her guy friend is set up as an initiation ritual and everyone of the novices get branded on their inner arms.

Many in this "cult" have been there many years, including many successful people who hide a big secret from the new initiates...also called novices. Rosa turns the eyes of many during her introduction time. Her other friend however has gone off somewhere to mill about the house and runs into something he shouldn't have. The story picks up pace with one chotic happening after the other...It is definitely a binge watch. I hope they bring out a second season. Perfectly acted out..incredible writing and directing.

Messiah (2020)
9/10
Interesting!
3 January 2020
This show keeps you guessing: Is he real, or is he not? It starts off slow, but it kept my interest. It starts in the middle east with the beginning of miracles. A man, who never says he is the Messiah, is believed by many to be the one. From place to place people follow him. I would love to see a Season 2 on this series.

The faults I noted were more cosmetic as in literally cosmetic... The woman CIA, always has her make-up on just so as well as the preacher's wife. That seemed a bit surreal to me, but it wasn't THAT noticeable. The story was what mattered and the show keeps you guessing waiting for the next episode.
