Triple Threat Acting Set! Great Acting!
**Contains Minor Spoilers (if id even call it that), No Ending and No Direct Scene or Climax Description** ~Wanted to play it safe, avoid getting blacklisted while not ruining it for you~
This movie was great again! Morgan Freeman is one of my top three favourite actors and has been since I first seen him in the Shawshank Redemption, (still the best, and most favourite movie of all time), with my grandpa in the mid 90's, I'm 26 now. Along with Michael Caine and Alan Arkin, you get the triple threat for any audience. They played their roles so well. I find that the better actors you draft in movies the better outcome and reviews it will get from media critics, because they can connect with the viewers in a way that no one else can really do. They almost make you feel the emotion, think how they think, feel how they feel, see and hear what they do. You become so immersed in the movie that even if it happened to lack a good story behind it, they play it so well, that it makes to be great one. In this movie it was no different as to how well the acting quality was, just magnificent.... And Funny. Like who thinks of a story about 3 old timers, (Senior Citizens to be politically correct), would ever plot to rob a bank? Like its so out of the box your already laughing at the idea before you even see the film. The movie was well scripted I found in it dropping lines just at the right time, the right way. The story had just enough in it to make it very interesting and immersive. From the comedy to how they plan to pull off the heist and the training it takes to get them prepared, has you holding your mouth to avoid spilling out the popcorn. It had wit and it had comedy. It also had empathy and sadness, along with fear and uncertainty. I felt the story was well thought of and planned out, not to skip too many details or important plot aspects along the way. The gritty punch lines and intellectually thought of jokes made me laugh at half of them, or more. The scene in the grocery store was absolutely hilarious and the conversation our main characters have with the store manager had my abdomen sore. The things they do while in the grocery store actually make you contemplate the type of society the movie was involved with. The only con I have is that I thought the movie could have been a little bit longer. Maybe show a little bit more of how they lived life after they pass the climax descent of the movie. I can never get enough of the movies with good actors, it always feels there is just not enough screen time. Overall I thought this movie was awesome. Coming from a self-made story line and scripting, they nailed it. If you enjoyed the Bucket List, I highly recommend you watch this film. You WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!! It doesn't have the intense sad emotions involved with the Bucket List as its a comedy, but it has the same witty personalities that our senior citizens shared with each other in the Bucket List. Overall I give this movie an 8/10. Witty, fun, creative, involving, inspirational (please don't attempt what they do), immersive, and just, well directed. Its one of those movies that doesn't compensate for bad acting and scripting with big explosions and expensive toys, but the complete opposite. I highly encourage you give it a watch. Take care my IMDb friends, happy watching!!
Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)
Where is the heart and soul? *Contains Spoilers*
WARNING: This review may contain spoilers so reader beware.
This review is based on my personal review of the movie as seen in the theatre.
First off I have to say the fight scenes and acting in the movie were good. I have no qualms about how Tom Holland played his spider man role. He played the kid feel of Spiderman very well. Also we all know Robert Downey Jr., plays his role on point as he has been around the block more than a few times and his role of Iron Man has been consistent since day one. I absolutely hate when an actor plays a the main actor/hero and they get switched like used socks, (Transformers, Spiderman, etc), it absolutely takes any relation and connect with the character in the movie and stomps on it. Tom Holland played a very humble Peter Parker and interacting with the environment of the movie very well. I also enjoyed how they put Stan Lee in it as well. It was funny him playing a senior yelling from his apartment window. lol. What I don't like about this movie, and many others, is:
1. The characters get switched around so damn often. Like there has been what, like 3 or 4 different actors that have played Spiderman, like where is the connect with the actor and his character? How can you get involved in a superhero movie franchise when every new movie that comes out a different Character is playing him? Honestly I enjoyed when Toby Macguire played him because he was just the original OG, like the first one and should have stayed that way.
2. Its always the next movie you hope is going to tell a true, comic book like style episode. Not welcome to this and here is your new suit, and don't go all out yet your just learning etc, etc. Its always him a new character learning the ropes and it never feels like it is a true spiderman movie. It feels like he has been welcomed to the Avengers like a million times already and he has been in an Avenger movie already but this one shows him just joining? Then at the end not only does he change his suit every movie, but he had three different variations of costumes just in this movie alone! Like didn't spiderman get over his prototype like ages ago? Then Tony Stark gives him a new suit to use, and at the end, builds him another some sort of new futuristic Iron Man/ Spiderman suit yet again. I thought he had a good new suit like 3 movies ago yet he always starts the movie out with another damn prototype to get a new one at the end. Like where are all these new suits going? Anyway, the next movie it will probably be a different actor and the suit that was showed at the end of this movie will 'disappear', in a shroud of mystery, never to be seen. Like why all of a sudden is Tony Stark the provider of his costume, like when did this come into play? When did Tony become his guardian and basically grounding him from being spiderman because he says so? Didn't Spiderman create his own suit, destiny?.. pfff. smh
3. There is no backbone, heart, or soul to this movie at all. It always feels like a remake of the first movie out. Spiderman starting from the bottom yet again as a new actor. I want to see a spiderman full of action, like the comic books. I already know the story of superman, i know the group he hangs with, I know his roots, yet every movie feels the need to explain the story all over again, every damn time. Its slow and boring for like half the movie and the action doesn't start until like half way through. By this time I think that we should already have a spiderman thats full of action, comic book style, not some boring story thats been explained like a billion times. Like who doesn't know spiderman. Seriously. Watch the first movies if you don't know.
4. I felt the movie was almost more about the Avengers than it was about Spiderman himself. They managed to save it and put it in spider-man's favour but it felt like Spiderman wasn't even able to be the star of his movie because 'THE AVENGERS' said he couldn't. Thats like Superman telling Batman he cant save Gotham city because Superman defends all. lol. Anyway if a movie is about one superhero in particular it should be about the superhero not about his trying out for some other superhero squad the whole movie.
Anyway, thats what I found to be a pain for this movie, along with the one before as well. The things I really enjoyed were stated earlier. I enjoyed Tom Holland in the role. I thought he did well in playing the innocent kid that Spiderman usually is portrayed as in the movies. He seemed humble and respectful, ready to jump at a moments notice to help anyone.I thought Martha May looked extraordinarily young, like sh**, almost a model looking girl. Isn't she supposed to be an aunt to Spiderman? Anyway this movie I believe was thrown together with not much heart or effort to connect it to the true spiderman, but just thought with CGI, big explosions, and creative character thinking they could pull off a good spiderman movie. Nope. Wasn't my liking and definitely didn't compare to the original ones.
Superhuman (2016)
Camera Angles Are Whacky
In this review there are no spoilers because I will not be writing about what is contained in the episodes but rather how it is televised. I thought the idea of the show was neat. I always enjoy watching contestant's extraordinary talents, its quite neat. I enjoy seeing things that others would drop their jaw to or try to comprehend how it is being done. However, the camera angles in the show are just all over the place. Your trying to see how contestants are doing things and the camera is changing angles every 5 seconds. Its actually quite annoying and frustrating, when your trying to pay attention to something and your focus is constantly being diverted by camera changes. I couldn't focus on the 'acts' that some contestants were performing and it really frustrated me quite some bit, not to mention gave me a headache. If your in to watching unique things and don't mind your camera angle being switched constantly then this would be a show that you might want to check out, although, there are many shows on television and the web that showcase the same thing and are much better in their presentation on screen. That is why I gave it a 4/10. Thanks for reading. Enjoy!
