By this time my lungs were aching for air
22 January 2019
With the start of the 2nd season of the show, we are happy to inform you that Tv's Frank has arrived as well as Kevin Murphy at the voice of Tom Servo. These two changes brought the show up to the best standards the show has or will have seen.

This episode I have to rate a 7 overall as there are some big lulls in the comedic input. But, there are also some riff to remember. It's fun to see the very beginning of how we will view the show now for quite a few years.

No hacks here
22 January 2019
Definitely a top notch MST3K. A movie about side hackers (do they actually still do this?!?!) that thankfully didn't have much side hacking in it. The one liners are fast and furious in this one. Not even many lulls in the laughs. The host segments are very good as well. Overall a great episode, definitely worth the watch.

Not one to write home about
15 January 2019
One of the dullest shows from any season of MST3K, a good skip if you aren't caring about watching them all. And even the name of the title didn't even fit the original film. Not many good one-liners in this one, even though the movie was very horrible, including one of the main actors sounding and looking drunk throughout the whole movie.

The MST3K Milling Festival
15 January 2019
The Black Scorpion is a giant bug/animal movie from the '50's that was terribly bad. It included a lot of extra's standing about that was made into a running gag by Joel and the Bots as milling festivals. These were some of the funnier gags in the movie and although the laughs start off fast, the movie even dragged down our heroes and made this one of the tamer MST3K episodes. Although, the host segments were pretty good.

A Mamie Van Doren vehicle
12 January 2019
This '50's bad/cool youth film features Mamie Van Doren and Eddie Cochran (who was in a band and eventually inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame), there is a lot of singing and dancing in the movie as well as some great bad acting. Joel and the bots have some good lines for some decent laughs, but overall I rate this an average MST3K episode.

A "groovy" space oddysy
12 January 2019
Made in 1969 Moon Zero Two was set in 2021 but had the "groovy" 1960's feeling to it, which gave our MST3K heroes a lot of fodder to work with. A lot of great lines ensue throughout the movie, including during and after a "hilarious" no gravity scene. The host segments were also pretty good, making this a good MST3K movie parody to enjoy.

Manly avocado takes NY by storm!
7 January 2019
A very cheap post apocalyptic movie is a very good breeding ground for Joel and the bots cheap shots. A lot of funny lines keep rolling though-out this movie that had a couple of funny host segments as well. Although this is rated a 7, it needed some more big laughs to make it an 8. Still a good effort from the crew of the Satellite of Love.

The movie of ladders
5 January 2019
And lots of them. Project Moonbase's main character is a woman who has become the darling of the space race and is depended upon to complete a critical mission. We find out however that she is not ready for primetime as she whines at her commander. Some continuous laughs are had as the riffs in the movie just keep coming. Only missing bigger laughs to get a higher rating.

The host segments are good, especially when we are introduced to a new do-it-all substance: spacom!

More fog than...
5 January 2019
The movie The Fog. Joel and the bots seemed to be hemmed in a bit themselves by all the fog in the movie, There are some good parts here and there, but mostly some average laughs. The host segments are decent, a bit above average. Overall a pretty average effort for MST3K, some decent laughs to be had but nothing great.

The Gorilla Hiking Scenes,
5 January 2019
Make them stop! And don't forget the million bubble machine. A very sparse budget and some extremely mediocre acting made this film, unbearable to watch until MST3K came along and jazzed it up. Quite a bit of good banter by Joel and the bots keep the bubbles popping for sure, the host segments are ok. Maybe next time directors will learn about what actually makes a scene or a movie pop and that is to have a great editor to cut out horrendous hiking scenes, DEEP HURTING!

A bad movie made great by MST3K
2 January 2019
The Crawling Hand has a lot of laughs by just being bad, but Joel and the bots make this movie a riff fest! The movie rolls along well with very few lulls in the laughs. There are a few known actors in it, including Alan Hale (The Skipper on Gilligan's Island) and Peter Breck (Nick Barkley on The Big Valley). The host segments weren't great but not horrible either. It's a solid 8 and a very solid MST3K.

Average fare for MST3K
31 December 2018
Not real bad and not real good. Just a few laughs and none of them large really. The movie and the host segments tend to just plod along from beginning to end. I nearly gave it a 4.

More like Bad Monster
31 December 2018
This, in my opinion, is one of THE worst MST3K episodes. The movie was so bad in many ways, that it was hard for Joel and the bots to even riff on it, let alone for them to be very funny riffs. The only thing good to say about Mad Monster is that the host segments were very improved compared to episodes 1 and 2, especially the host segment where Servo falls in love. I would suggest to skip this movie and only watch it if you want to watch the whole complete series, otherwise it's not worth it, except the host segments.

Just your average Mummy
29 December 2018
Episode two of MST3K starts with a very funny short of the serial, Commando Cody. Joel and the bots get rolling early with a very easy to bash storyline in the Commando Cody episode. High ratings for the spoofing of a very terrible plot in the short. I was hoping that this would be a pre-cursor to the movie riffs, but once feature starts, the gags slow way down. The movie itself is truly horrible making the first part of the movie pretty bad. But, as what happened in the very first MST3K movie the laughter really picks up as the movie goes along. Even with the pick up in the flow of wise cracks I can only rate this episode a 6, which isn't really bad or good. Just above middling score is all I can give it.

The start of something great!
29 December 2018
Although MST3K actually began the year before this show was nationally, most people had never seen the show outside of Minnesota. The Crawling Eye was the humble beginnings to what became one of the funniest shows on tv.

The laughs start out slow, but gain momentum as the Crawling Eye carries on. This movie is a solid episode of MST3K, I wouldn't rate it in my top 30 probably. After seeing later episodes of MST3K before seeing the first season, it can be tough to get used to the original national cast which mainly concerns the role of Tom Servo, which was later recast, as well as Dr.Forrester's henchman.
