Mythica: The Necromancer (2015)
Sword and Sorcery Continues!
Beautiful scenery, each new installment continues to get better. Acting is getting stronger with each new installment. Betylla is done very well, Marek is really good. I wish Gojin Pye had more screentime in all the episodes, but this is one mainly to save Thane after he's captured. I just watched this entire series up to Stormbound. It's my new favorite. I may have to watch it again for the details that kinda get missed at midnight watching and breaks for snacks, etc. Special effects are getting better, I don't really want a 80% CGI movie anymore, honestly. Thane's revenge at the end is brutal and swift, very fitting. Worth your time to watch!!
Mythica: A Quest for Heroes (2014)
Good Start to a series
1st of a series. The following series get better, effects, acting, etc. The main characters are good and get better with each episode. Can't believe it's 10 years old and I just found it. I watched all of them up to Stormbound. Characters DIE in these series, unfortunately, but mirrors reality. Godslayer was heartbreaking. I'm old (53) and tired of 90% Special effect movies. These have some, and they are OK and get better with each new story, but story is what counts in my days now. Can't wait for the next installment. Searching the net for it, just finished watching it last night. It's well worth watching.
Spider-Man 3 (2007)
Not worth the time to watch unless you just need to see Spidey
This was one lame movie. What was with all the crying? Everyone in this movie cried. Tears were flowing from all the characters. Even in the flashbacks with Uncle Ben, he had tears flowing as he was shot down. Peter and Mary Janes eyes were literally red throughout the entire movie. I felt as though this movie was shot by some soap like Days of Our Lives or All My Children. This could have been a 35 minute movie. Venom was developed at the last minute in the movie. Peter dancing was embarrassing to watch. Really. I just wanted to leave at that point. But I endured on to the almost bitter end. Venom got whacked and we were out of there. Who cares how it ended, I wasted enough of my time on this lamer. Wait till it comes out on DVD, then wait till it hits the 99 cent rack at the movie rental. Then wait for half price Tuesdays. You'll thank me for it.
The Mark of Zorro (1940)
An excellent classic
This is an excellent classic that I pop in and watch often. No matter how many times you watch this one, it's still a great movie. This one is well worth purchasing. And who doesn't like Zoro? It's just a great little romp with horses, swords, and peons. Eugene Palette is one of my favorite supporting actors that just so happens to be the Fiar Fray Felipe, the local church leader. Although a member of the church, the Friar is also capable of using (and teaching?) the use of the sword. After the return of Don Deigo and the mysterious highwayman Zoro, the Friar finds himself the "purveyer of stolen goods!" He also gets in on the action at the end, hitting soldiers on the head left and right and saying "God forgive me!" He also gets to escort the Vega's down to the ship sailing for Spain at the end as well as other pieces here and there. Overall he got a fairly substantial part in the movie in my opinion. Just a great movie for the family or just yourself on a rainy day or any day.
