The Fall Guy (2024)

Worth a watch!
5 May 2024
Ryan Gosling's sympathy is enough to carry a whole movie after this point I guess lol. He's become a man everybody likes and he deserves appreciation for that.

Emily Blunt sparkles again. She definitely looks great in camera. It was such a joy watching these two beauties together in this fun flick.

I found myself having laughters and just enjoying the show. It was better than I expected. I had doubts it would be a boring straight movie that's just casual. It was straight but wasn't boring at least.

Will always repeat myself, we need this kind of high budget Holywood movies to have gay characters as lead, then maybe somethings can change/heal.

Happy to have a new og horror
29 April 2024
Even tho I appreciate that its an original horror film in this franchises' world, it wasn't a complete "good" film for me.

Jumpscares were not built successfully and storyline didn't pull off being surprising. And these elements just made it a 3/5 movie for me.

I love the last scene that is one shot, but my preferences for the ending would have been different.

Since they came out in the same era, I would like to say The First Omen did it better.

Yet, that doesn't necessarily mean Immaculate was bad. It still had lovely shots and camera angles that I was amazed with. You can also tell there's so much love behind the camera as well as there is in front.

Gimme more!
18 April 2024
Just like everyone else I gotta say this was way better than I expected. I love the OG, not like the rest, never thought we needed a new movie in the franchise yet I ended up enjoying my time so much.

First off, it was a lovely made movie. The score, the makeup, especially set design were all amazing. Lead did a perfect job portraying the character as well. It was amazing how much effort was put on this movie.

Definitely a rewatchable and enjoyable piece of art. I love it when new horror releases are this good!

One specific scene made jump off my seat lol I loved it!

Also, certainly a must own on blu-ray!

We need more gay characters!!
25 January 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Much better than I expected from a horror "pool" movie but I gotta say that I am tired of straight people. It's like the world, the people and unfortunately the movies are doing their best to make me a heterophobic person.

I have had enough of these stereotypical storylines ngl.

All that's need to be done is make one of the actors gay or something. The couple doesn't need to be straight, the teen girl doesn't have to fall in love with a boy etc etc.

I don't think it's that hard to take courage. For instance, M. Night. He has become my fave horror director now because he's earned my trust and support with his latest work "Knock at the Cabin". I appreciate him for that.

Yet, the movie itself was fun and entertaining except all that unnecessary and stereotypical romance. I think the movie delivered well enough to save itself from being a cliche and dragging movie.

No point!
28 October 2023
I was bored to the fullest ngl. Watched 2 hours, slept an hour, looked up and down for the rest 30 mins. Felt like a prisoner in cinema 😂 only reason I didn't leave is DiCaprio since he is my fave actor of all times. But yeah..

Btw,

People are gonna be scared to criticize this film because of the cast and all the hype but if I can get to be honest, everyone should imo. It's not a good movie let's be honest.

There is no story that makes you intrigued, no story that is fun to follow, povs are boring, characters have plain depth, you don't root for anything and nothing. And its 210 minutes.. imagine.. two hundred and ten minutes... iki yüz on dakika.... doscientos diez minutos.

WHAT HAVE YOU DONE CHAVES!!
8 September 2023
I'd never thought a new installment in this franchise could make me say this but this one is absolutely the most terrifying, the darkest, the most successful and profound movie of the whole universe - keeping the original, The Conjuring (2013), off of the topic 'cause OGs can never be replaced.

I am so proud of Chaves that he's put his name, talent and vision out there and become an immortal name in horror cinema history. Hardwork always pays off as it did so much here!! You are awesome Chaves!

The visuals, the sound design, the make-up, the costume designs, the set design are absolutely over the top with so much hardwork and commitment behind.

I congratulate everyone till the fullest. The whole cast did a phenomenal job. The commitment by everyone made The Nun II (2023) an amazing, superb much enjoyable movie without a doubt from my pov at least.

I already can't wait to binge rewatching for the next few days.

Ayyy finally!!!!
7 July 2023
My review doesn't contain spoilers but I would suggest you not read it if you haven't seen the movie yet 'cause I wouldn't wanna affect no one's enthusiasm.

It started off pretty amazing for me because I am a sucker for drama-horrors that take their times. I was enjoying myself so much whilst getting updated with the Lambert family scene by scene.

Even with the first shot of the film it was evident that the franchise and more especially this movie is/was in good and talented hands. I loved Wilson's vision and I think he learned a lot during his career. This was his time to show off the skills he's got and he's definitely done that!!

I was hesitant about Simpkins knowing that child actors are not necessarily long-time actors but I think he pulled this off perfectly. I love that everyone committed themselves for this movie and they ended up making a pretty decent sequel.

I may as well change the "pretty" into "controversial" but I will keep it that way since I am .... iron man... no... a fan!!

come on barbie let's go party 💅💕
26 June 2023
This was perfectooo!!

Having these cameos while keeping a close eye to the individual storyline is not an easy thing to do, so I appreciate that so much.

Muschietti has done a bold job as this is his first non-horror movie. Pulling this movie off must have been some challenge but he's done it! So proud of him!

Color grading and sound design were absolutely made for home cinema! I know this movie will look EPIC on physical copy.

I love the suits, the dialogues and the handsome piece Affleck 💕

And of course especially the Supergirl was portrayed in such a strong way. I would love to see her again in future projects.

Earthquake -check-, blackout -check-, apartment flat -check- !!!
24 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I loved the different approach here. It takes place in an apartment on a rainy/stormy night, there is an earthquake and then a blackout! Stairs are fu*ked, elevator is wrecked and there is cursed people!!! Such a love letter to horror mothers and also an original production itself.

I loved the gore, the makeup, the references (such as The Shining, Devil, The Conjuring) and the acting by all the cast. I feel lucky to have watched this quality horror film in cinemas after a long time. Saying this as 'not' being a fan of the original btw.

I already feel like rewatching and I can't wait to own the bluray! I LOVED IT! I FEEL FULL TO BLOOD AND SCARES!

Scream VI (2023)
6/10
Decent enough, not more than that.
10 March 2023
Absolutely over-rated and over-hyped. It has no business receiving this kind of appreciation. Just a repetitive, decent enough Scream movie. Sure I had fun here and there, as much as I got bored also. Might rewatch soon. I wish it had its own character as a movie itself. I felt like I was watching extended scenes of Scream (2022) that I haven't asked for. And unfortunately Jenna Ortega has become one of those Hollywood actors/actresses that she has started being everywhere, no matter which direction you turn head, you see her. I unfortunately feel like I am tired seeing the same person everywhere. Not just with her for sure.

Absolutely massive!
26 February 2023
I don't see a reason for this movie to be hated, at all. It's got everything an Ant Man movie should have and even more. I see the director, Peyton Reed, being more confident than ever and he pulled this movie off so well.

Paul Rudd is hilarious as usual and I was amazed to see Kathryn Newton as Cassie Lang!

I loved the visual effects and all the costumes designed for this movie. I think they were super creative. The ships, the living-beings, creatures and especially Kang!

When I was watching quantumania scenes I thought to myself they were actually playing big with those battle scenes took place in that realm. It looked amazing. And I know it's very controversial but in my humble opinion this movie can compete with Avengers movies.

Yes, frankly, I am blown away.

-Watched in Imax 3D.

M3GAN (2022)
6/10
M3GAN is actually a fun ride but probably forgettable.
13 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Went seeing this today, having no high expectations. I didn't enjoy the first act, I found it so predictable and cliché, which is not a big surprise. I knew we'd have a progress and the gore in the second act, which the build-up in the first act made it evident. So much so I ended up enjoying the rest of the show. M3GAN kicked ass and that was fun. I was even caught by some of the jumpscares. I like how M3GAN looked but my main expectation was they'd go to a new direction with this kind of consuetudinary concept.

I don't find it as competitive as Conjuring films, yet ,by its own, it played nice enough.

Definitely will own a copy and leave it a room in my collection.

Master did it!
12 January 2023
His name always meant something for me. I am a huge fan of his and I have been a collector of his movies for a long time. I adore the way he directs and tells a story. You can always find the same unique taste in his movies.

I feel that having this coming of age film, depends on his own real life, from him is a phenomenal chance for me. Especially being able to watch it at the cinemas, where movies are supposed to be seen! Seeing frames from his childhood with this amazing cast was indescribably amazing.

Michelle Williams, my lover in every movie she acts in, was always sparkling with her amazing acting skills. Paul Dano has gotten better and better from the first movie I've watched of him throughout the years. He's become a real hollywood star for me. And speaking of stars, I feel like saying this, no one but Gabriel LaBelle could have fit into this role more than him. I am perfectly sure he's put so much effort onto this role and all that perfectly paid off. He looks amazing, he sounds, acts amazing! Without a doubt Spielberg felt so proud of him. I hope LaBelle has a bright future in this business and he never stops because I know that he'll be the rising star. I appreciate Spielberg so much for giving this chance to him.

The colour grade is remarkable, not the one Spielberg always uses but for this exact film it worked out so well. I'd had a worry that the aspect ratio would be classic wide 2.39 : 1 but when the movie started and I saw 1.85 : 1 was chosen, I was more excited than ever because I'd really wanted to watch this speacial piece of art on a full screen.

Long story short, I adore this film. It made me think so much about my life, about his life and everything. Definitely one of my favorite movies at all times. I can't wait to own a poster and of course a bluray copy.

That's was it :)

It did it for me
11 January 2023
Finally watched this as an aviation enthusiast. It was on my watchlist maybe for years.

I was not a big fan of Denzel's character, I wish they had chosen another kind of character, more intriguing or even funny because I did not give a single smirk to anything that probably I was expected to laugh at.

I liked the visual effects, they looked decent enough and I also liked the acting from side characters.

Other than that, movie did not feel long and storytelling really helped that besides Zemeckis' style of directing as well.

I felt like giving 7/10 but I thought that wouldn't be fair to this well-made picture.

Puss in Boots (2011)

First watch
10 January 2023
It has sexism more than characterization. Definitely lacks heart for me and the world it takes place in seems so uninviting.

Cgi looks really bad. Visual depth is zero. You can't even read the expressions on characters' faces.

Storyline doesn't feel intriguing at all and puss' voice is , to me , really disturbing. I really didn't like dubbing.

I prefer the puss in shrek movies. It had always looked way cooler and with character. So seeing him in this world didn't make me feel for him.

Yet I am excited for the sequel. People seem to love it and according to what I read online, they have tried something new in this franchise. Let's see.

A Heart-Warming Family Movie!
11 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Such a heart-warming family film.

A talking crocodile, a pt barnum'ish magician, a lonely and friend seeking boy and a family that just moved in. I really like the whole build-up yet I couldn't help but think , so much more could have been put into these elements. The characters surely might have been deeper but considering it is PG, all really worked off nice enough.

Fegleys have been really talented actors and seeing them get the roles makes me happy. Definitely well deserved for them

I had laughters and enjoyed myself pretty much. I really would like to have been able to watch it in the cinemas.

The Menu (2022)
18 November 2022
Absolutely tense and intriguing right from the beginning to the end. Feels like an one act, non-stop story which makes it really quality and apart from the ordinary thriller/comedy movies.

Acting is amazing. Anya Taylor-Joy is as usual, stunning. I also enjoyed so much seeing Nicholas Hoult here. I have been knowing him since About a Boy (2002). I love that they used 2.39 : 1 aspect ratio. I also like the color grade, it worked really nice.

Surely much more could have been put into this story but not having a glance at the past or after the events also made it unique. Definitely one of the best of 2022.

Hellraiser (2022)
7/10
not needed.
23 October 2022
I'm giving it 7/10 just because I appreciate the effort when it comes to makeup, costumes, lighting and acting. It has a decent cinematography which makes it a good film but I don't think it was a need at this point. This could've been easily a stand-out alone film. As a remake, it didn't work for me.

I'll always go with the original. That film is a masterpiece.

I think I just didn't enjoy watching a superb modern and technologically showered Hellraiser film.

Also, streaming keeps stealing the movies off the cinemas and I just hate that. Streaming will be the reason of the death and the end of the cinemas at some point.

I'm sold!!
15 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I can see why people hate this film , I know those people would hate me too after reading my review lol . Because I am about to say '' what is there to take that serious? ''

Halloween is a film, franchise, about halloween. It's about Michael Myers, it's about Laurie and it's about fun and gore for horror fans like us. This is not The Conjuring. So my point is why so serious if they change the things a bit in the last film? What's there to be bothered about?

I definitely had fun watching the whole thing. The whole build-up for Corey, the dram and especially the last act. I loved it. I think it was breath-taking and at some point I even felt like shedding a tear because I was so much connected with the film ( I even had to shush the person standing right behind me to focus better ). Lol

I loved the kills. They were absolutely clever and creative. Especially the one with the fire. I loved it.

The whole tension and the soundtrack hit so well imo.

It was just a beautiful time at the cinemas.

Well, speaking of that, I think we, the movie lovers, are supposed to prefer cinemas over streaming if and when we can afford it. Otherwise there will be no cinemas to go to soon. That will also mean the end of physical media and the end of quality film.

I talked too much. Damn.

Ahh teens !
10 October 2022
If you put teens in a room or throw them in a crisis, things get out of hands , emotions speak louder than logic and things go out of control so easily lol. I am not ashamed to say that I am scared of my peers and also of this kind of meetings.

We assume, we act without thinking what may happen 10 seconds later; they cheat, they lie and most of us are prisoners of our hormones.

Anyway.

I also wanted to note two things that bothered me a bit but not too much.

Since this is A24 original, I didn't expect to see a cameraman's shadow on an actress lol also a cheap blood paint. I didn't like them.

Movie itself was a good documantery tho.

Solid 7/10
4 September 2022
This was a blast at the cinemas because I don't think I would have enjoyed it this much at home. Some jumpscares really got me.

I loved how most of the scenes were one-shot. It really added tension to the story and it was also so useful to make it feel more real. I just could imagine how the cameraman walked and drew circles around the characters as they kept acting. So obvious it was rehearsed many times to be able to do this. The effort really paid well.

I also think it did pull it off when comes to making an original film. Surely it reminded of Cujo (1983) but still this one did a good job at staying original.

Girls really acted well with the main character.

Makeup was also good. Sfx team knew how to picture the wounds and make it close enough to the real.

Overall, it's solid 7/10 for me. I definitely want to own this one on bluray.

A conflict
28 August 2022
I feel like I still need a prequel after watching a prequel and I don't like that;

I feel like if this movie was just a stand-alone film, I'd have worshiped it and it'd been one of my faves so that's confusing because I don't feel complete with everything, yet a part of me loved this film;

I don't like how Isabelle Fuhrman looks because she looks way too grown-up now and I just can't unsee that, like she really is a grown-up now;

On the other hand, she gives a remarkable performance and that's amazing!!

So I am really just so confused here. I love it and I don't like it.

I'll give it 7/10 for now. Still should be appreciated.

First Peele Film I liked
26 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Making, or let's say releasing, this film in 2022 with this kind of storyline takes some courage that's for sure. I liked it. For the first time I was interested and I didn't feel like stop watching a Peele film.

That design of the ship, using that design/serving that design, was also so bold. It looked so alluring and imposing to me.

I really would like to watch this on bluray since it was shot on film, which is something Peele did for the first time. And also knowing that this is the first horror film that was shot with IMAX camera is also so cool.

Brown and yellow never looked this perfect together. There is such a lovely bond between them throughout the movie that really made me feel like I was seeing a lovely canvas painting.

The storyline is so terrifying. This really could happen to anyone so easily which makes this movie so real. The actings were phenomenal. The zooms gave a great colour to the film. I love it.

Beautiful cinematography and a remarkable color grade and lighting.

really really cool..!
5 August 2022
First of all I want to cry for that this was sold to streaming. Would've been such a lovely experience being able to watch this at the cinemas.

The modernized predator looked AND sounded amazing. Practical effects were so well-made and some of the angles were so creative that I just want to print those shots and put on my wall.

I definetely feel like I need to rewatch this soon.

Lastly, I have to say this, the bear couldn't have looked more real. What an amazing cgi work there. With the wetness, shadow, reflection. Wow. And of course the blood. I love it. I love the gore we witnessed here!
