The Pale Blue Eye (2022)
Very good mystery-movie. Not a horror film
This is a very good mystery movie. I'm seeing some reviews here criticizing the movie because there is no horror in it. Indeed there is not, perhaps it was bad advertised.
But, on the other hand, as a mystery thriller, this is an amazing movie, with a solid plot and a few twists that are very coherent and well placed.
The acting is also top notch, and the scenarios are also rather beautiful.
This is a very good suspense film, a bit of a slow-burn on the middle, but the final act is very good and the 'epilogue' ties everything up with a very well executed conclusion.
This was a great movie to start 2023.
House of the Dragon: The Princess and the Queen (2022)
Cut their tongues so they don't speak... put your symbol on them
The story is interesting, we have a lot of characters and I consider that they all have significant screen time.
That been said, I consider that the show has a problem with the storytelling pace, this episode for example spends to much time in some scenes and the most relevant part of the episode (the end), happens in just 10 minutes.
Really, in 10 minutes we have more plot development than in the entire episode. Larys founds a secret army that murders his father and his brother, man, this felt so rushed, and also, you cut the soldiers tongue so they do not speak, but he puts his symbol on their clothes, makes 0 sense.
Mare of Easttown: Poor Sisyphus (2021)
This episode felt a bit like a spin-off
Loving the show up until now. But like, 20min of this episode felt like completely unecessary, I also felt like the dialogue here had a decay compared to the previous 3. The plot is still intriguing and I'm looking forward for the conclusion, but I hope next episode is more like the previous ones (great dialogue, pace and every scene maters).
