Containment (2016)
I think it's a top notch show
I missed out on this show when it was airing, I hadn't even heard of it. Netflix suggested it to me and I have binged it over the past 2 days and I must say that I am sad that it was canceled. It's a good show, so much better than the other reality show garbage they keep filling the airwaves with...rotting our brains.
I love these virus outbreak shows and movies, and I think this one really focuses on the humanity aspect - both the positive and negative - of the terror. Some reviewers have said that the writing and acting is poor, but I greatly disagree.
If you're curious, just give an episode a try...see what you think.
The Big Sick (2017)
A really REALLY good movie
I didn't really know much about this movie going into it but holy cow I loved it so much. It's a true story, did you know that? The real guy is playing himself in the movie. This is a RomCom for adults who like to use their brains. I laughed, I cried, I had so many feels and everyone needs to see this movie.
The Girl King (2015)
History or Fiction? I'm not sure, but it was a good film
I have absolutely no knowledge of Swedish history, so I'm not sure how accurate this telling of Christina - Sweden's 17th century Queen - is. However, I do know that I thoroughly enjoyed this story. What a fascinating character Christina is. It's such a shame that most of what we know about our history has been written by zealots, bigots and fear- mongers. So it's hard to know a historical figure's true story.
There were some movie-type issues, but overall it was a good film. I'm not sure why it has received such a crummy IMDb rating, because I truly think it worth watching. It left me so emotional: angry and sad and thankful. And has definitely given me a thirst to learn more about this woman.
Wynonna Earp (2016)
Badass Chick With A Demon Killing Gun
This show is worth every point on the 10 stars I gave it. In today's world of brain-rotting television shows, Emily Andras has created an urban fantasy show with action, sarcastic humor, diverse love, phenomenal writing, and an unspeakably amazing cast - who are not only great actors but are also great people who have completely embraced the fandom.
