By Mistake (2022)
Dark comedy done right for the first time in Kannada.
This title quite randomly showed up on my feed, i decided to watch it and i was in for a surprise. Never would i have expected to see such a well put together show about "Modern" life in Bangalore in Kannada! Nobody seems to have watched it, The humor lands(most of the times), The writing is surprisingly nuanced and i could finally relate to a Bangalore story made in Kannada, its quite realistic. Just when you think it's choosing the convenient screenwriting method, it flips the hat. Some things are predictable but i should say quite impressive.
Mimi (2021)
Fine not bad
Well First things first I didn't have any expectations from this film but it turned out fine, it could have used a little more humor and cut the melodrama down but it's a good entertainer, and finally it's also film where the American characters speak like Americans, in some other Indian films they speak like Russian hippies. If you are planning to watch this film then please don't watch the trailer because the trailer gives all the big reveals and twists away and also don't have a lot of expectations this is just a Bollywood masala film done right in a long time!
Article 15 (2019)
An unbiased representation of a complex situation
Article 15 is not your regular investigative thriller with clues twists. But that does not mean it is not effective . This film is based on the 2014 badaun rape case it takes a look at the caste prejudice and the crime involved in a small village lalgaon . from the first frame the film's tone is unsettling and extremely dark it tries to give us a closer look into the people's life. when the main character played by ayushmann khurrana comes on screen it fells as if a normal man is entering an alien land. And he is going to be shocked by the surprises that come his way for some viewers it may be unusual and disturbing. i cant promise that this film will be entertaining. But this indeed an engaging film. It does not support any community or put down any community. it is just telling us to be more aware about the situation that is happening in our own country. the cinematography the colors make up for a great viewing experience. I myself watched it on an ONYX 4k screen which made it look great. For me the problem was the film ended a bit to soon. But the climax was indeed satisfying. Completely worth your time and money.
K.G.F: Chapter 1 (2018)
a really diffrent film for the kannada film industry
The film takes its own time to unfold its content it feels a bit rushed in the start but
then it starts to unfold there are some songs that were not required for the film
ans also some flashbacks it has some timeline problems. but when it gets to the
second half the film will not bore for a minute it represents the ruthlesness in a
way that makes you uncomefertable. it is on point and works. the naration is on point and it is concluded on a very big cliff hanger and makes you pumped up
for the second half. it is completly worth your time and money
