Be Cool, Scooby-Doo! (2015)
Basically the same Scooby-Doo we know, but funnier.
Asides the art style, this is a great show that improved a part of the classic Scooby-Doo formula: the comedy. I don't know about the American cast changes, but I do know about the Brazilian ones. Only the Fred voice actor wasn't changed here. It's not worse, the new cast do a nice job, I just don't understand why they changed the cast from "What's new, Scooby-Doo?" that also worked on "Mystery inc.". The designs are understandably hated but it's not noticeable on the go. Also, honestly only Velma looks really uglier. As I said earlier, they improved, and flawlessly, the comedy. The comedy is not absent in the classic formula, the slap-sticky gags and the chase scenes are awesome, not a surprise Scooby-Doo is a success afterall, it's that they try to make you laugh by literally putting jokes now. The characters are also a bit more improved and a bit less clichéd; Fred is now more of an exaggerated leader than a handsome, strong one. Velma didn't actually change that much, but looks nerdier. The Shaggy/Scooby-Doo couple is pretty much the same as well, being the mayor change in the group Daphne. I don't know if I hate or like the new Daphne, although there's nothing that detestable about her new personality. The pacing is the same, I personally enjoy the chase scenes of the classic formula and on this show it's similar to the "What's new" ones, specially the rock 'n' roll soundtrack. The animation is pretty good, it has the same quality level/style of cartoons like Bunnicula and Wabbit; it looks differently, but it's certainly not a lazy work. "Be Cool, Scooby-Doo!" is easily one of the best Scooby-Doo versions, it's equally entertaining and funnier. If you give it a chance, you won't regret it. You know what they say, don't judge a book by its cover. Here's an example.
Irmão do Jorel (2014)
An amazing Brazilian cartoon that knows how to be funny!
It's placed on Brazil, more specifically on the Brazilian 80s/90s. I wasn't in these times and I know it's so accurate, for sure it will have some plus points from some people due to the nostalgia. The show, most of the time, is well-paced, thus, it won't be boringly slow or confusingly fast. The characters are honestly perfect, all of them have their own unique personalities that will be well-used at some point, either for a plot device, their development or just a gag/joke. The comedy is a bit niche, it's funnier to the Brazilians. Still though, the characters are funny due to their exaggeration of doing pretty much anything, it's a "what the f*ck?"kind of humour that works well on the show. The voice acting, just like the Brazilian in general, is really good, so the characters are greatly dubbed, their voices themselves are funny already. The animation reminds flapjack, also the visual in general, it has sometimes gross-out takes and different kinds of animation.
Overall it's a great show that shows how FUNNY a cartoon can and SHOULD be (in my opinion). I recommend, and this is not a joke, any episode of it, I don't know if it's already aired abroad but trust me, it should and, hopefully, it will.
Everybody Hates Chris (2005)
Clever, funny show with a well-done humour
The comedy is, and without exaggeration of mine, perfect. It has pretty well-made black people jokes that just are really funny, nothing unexpected from Chris Rock. The characters are acted by good actors, they perform in a way I don't know how worse it would be if it was from other ones. It's a good sitcom (situation comedy), thus, there will obviously be funny situations, which is the case. It also knows how to suddenly go from a funny vibe to an emotional vibe.
A nice show you will laugh at because, surprise surprise, it's funny.
Uncle Grandpa (2010)
Weird, nonsensical, a bit non-appealing, but it works, and it works well
I can see why some people hate the show. It's dumb, nonsensical, maybe gross sometimes, not that good-looking, etc. Wow, it looks like I hate as well, right? But that's not the case, because I think it works just at the way it is. It has a nice cartoony feel to it, it is indeed weird and dumb, but that's how it wants to be. The possibilities are many, we have an infinite money belt and an infinite van in question, you can literally do anything that it will make "sense". The comedy is good, there is some puns, many visual gags and random kind of humour jokes. I strongly like when the characters are acting lazily on the van like some vagabonds, and then some basic conflict happens in an over-the- top way. Again, it's a random kind of humour they know pretty well how to deliver.
There's nothing else to say, it's just a random, crazy, funny cartoon that is either amazing or horrible depending on the person, and such person is right about this show any way.
We Bare Bears (2014)
Incredibly funny, great personalities and energetic pacing.
Subjectively, I find awesome how the bears are treated normally just like any other person, and how they, aside another character, big foot, are the only animals able to talk. The personalities are great, each character is fairly unique. The characters are well-developed, they will be different from each other and act in their own and funnily. The humour is honestly perfect, it mixes with the situations and the fast- pacing making you laugh hard at least once or just giggle in a good while. Speaking of which, the pacing is the best point of the show, everything is so energetic and crazy you will not get boring and always pay attention to it. Sometimes it also puts some awkward moments that work really well.
A funny, energetic show you will not get bored of or not laugh to.
Clarence (2013)
It's a good show, nothing that impressive or surprising.
The thing I like the most about this show is the childish accuracy. They're literally just kids that wanna have some fun, and it's fairly well-done here. The personalities are decent, they're unique enough but not that well-used, regarding there is three main characters and two more frequent, Clarence's parents, when there is some other characters that could do a better job with more on-screen relevant times, but yeah, the characters are good. It's crazy and nonsensical but in not that much of a funny way, in a scary one instead. As I said before, they are normal kids. The show sometimes put the characters into some seriously dangerous situations, it's not goofy and funny, but too real and scary. The slice-of-life parts are amazing, it shows how different the children might be regarding their families, this is cool and honestly should be the focus of the show. It's subjectively decently funny, some of its craziness might make you laugh. In some of the newer episodes I watched it was actually really good, SPOILER ALERT, it was about a space rocket homework, and it basically showed the kids with their pairs doing their own rockets in their own way. It was light, funny, memorable, a good episode, I recommend but I don't know its title.
The show has potential to something, light slice-of-life story lines, but it's not its focus; The show could go further, not being that real and that down-to-earth, but it's doesn't; it's not every time when it gets it that right; It's just a decent show, nothing that bad or that good to say about it.
