This was just bad. Clearly they were inspired by Once More With Feeling. The Buffy episode was thoughtful and the songs were clever. Buffy did it well and made a better than average episode.
The SNW writers must have been fans of Buffy. But they wrote a pale imitation. The songs were just flat. And while a few plot points were advanced, none were critical.
Not a fan of musicals in general, but I have been won over in the past. Buffy and Scrubs did it well. This was not well done. The songs were weak and the performances just so-so for the most part.
The highlight of the episode was the bunnies comment. How sad is it that the best moment of an episode comes from a reference to the episode being copied?
In general SNW needs to drop the gimmicks and just make good TV. They do not need gimmicks as multiple excellent episodes have proven. Sad that they wasted 10% of the season on this.
