Atypical: Y.G.A.G.G. (2019)
Very poorly written episode of a solid show
Kathy thinks we have a ghost - ok, so Kathy is even more annoying than thought possible. There are people who don't know what an eggplant emoji means? Worse yet, Evan's dad is impossibly awful for someone we've met for thirty seconds. Even Zahid comes off a bit badly, and he's such a sweet guy (but he's not totally clueless, as portrayed in this episode, like at the party).
Bob's Burgers: Christmas in the Car (2013)
Really awful episode
Huge fan of the show, but as the other negative reviewer pointed out, the "annoyingness" of Linda - that's usually so charming - was turned up to a higher degree than is normal for her character. The episode felt like it was written by a well-intentioned fan who just didn't quite get the show's nuances.
Ozark: BFF (2020)
Great ep as usual except one glaring hole (spoilers)
As usual, the acting is superb and the writing and direction are just as good ... except for one "error" in the writing: How is it possible that Marty and Wendy basically have zero security at the big gala, especially given the lives these folks lead and the things that have been going on in prior episodes?
Episodes: Episode Four (2017)
Not the worst episode of the season
... That would be the one that follows. Long live Episodes. Great first three seasons. Mediocre season 4. Awful final season. It's dying an awful death.
Episodes: Episode Five (2017)
Ruining a great show
The first three seasons were solid. The last two showed a remarkable fall from Grace. But this episode marks the nadir of the series so far (please don't let the last two be even worse).
Blockers (2018)
Who thought this would be ok?
A film only a Movie Pass subscriber should see. The acting is fine (and there are some standout performances), and even the concept has some merit, but the idea is stretched far too thin and strains credulity past the breaking point. Your dad breaks into your hotel room (ok, pretty sure that's not how hotel doors work) and throws your boyfriend into a table, and you end up having a lovely heart-to-heart with him? The only thing less likely is that this movie won't be a complete box office failure.
