The Sandman (2022– )

A great start - Love it
31 October 2022
So happy that they didn't stuff this up. The Sandman was always a risky proposition to transfer to screen. They knocked it out of the park with the first six episodes. IT goes downhill with the introduction of the Rose storyline, 7-8. But saved in episode 9 thanks to the fun 'collectors' episode. 10 is ok and 11 is very experimental but worth it in my opinion.

Morphious is the real attraction. When he is heavily in the storyline the episodes are excellent. Basically because he is super cool, just like he is in the comics. Also when the episodes get really dark they are a winner. I really hope we have lots of seasons to come.

A interesting life story told well.
27 August 2022
Giovanni Di Stefano was one of the most publicity hungry fraudsters that the world has had opportunity to be entertained and shocked to find out that he was a money hungry fraudster who ripped off many regular people who needed his help.

I can't but help admire in strange way those who take the concept of 'fake it until you make it' to the next level to live absolutely wild lives.

Giovanni directed his intellect and narcissism towards being a fake lawyer. He turned out to be a really good one that defended the likes of Manuel Noriega, Saddam Hussein, Slobodan Milosevic and more than once self proclaiming himself as the lawyer of few high profile cases simply to gain notoriety and media attention.

Why he needed to steal and cheat people even though he could earn a great living as a lawyer, shows how deeply greedy and without conscious people of his disposition are.

The film production was high quality, the creative approach of having the story told from Giovanni's perspective (using an actor) made you feel at least like you were getting a taste of his personality and reflection on his own life.

The great detective work done to bring Giovanni down, basically by a sole UK detective was just as interesting and keeps you invested to find out how he is finally caught and faced justice.

Genius, brillant, madness, ridiculous, foolhardy?

Genius, brillant, madness, ridiculous, foolhardy? I can't decide yet.

Just finished episode 4. It really is mind blowing what has been created. I watched this with amazement. Wondering how HBO execs tolerated the bills for what must be a super expensive tv show and how Nathan Feilder just brought 'inception' to real life with his deep dive acting methods.

Intrigued to see where and how this all ends.

S1 E10 'jail' is comedy gold
21 July 2022
This show is one of the most original and creative shows I have ever seen. It can make you cringe but you are dead inside if it doesn't make you laugh and smile.

''Jail' episode is pure comedy Gold.

Brilliant

Been a longtime since I have had the pleasure to watch a really laugh out loud comedy series. Excellent. Loved that it was from New Zealand and the irony that the adults are way more messed up than the kids.

Season 2 was
3 February 2022
I was all in on Season One, which i thought did most things well. Season Two however was jam packed with so many ideas and drama it just loses control and focus. Drama is constantly created about issues about Drug addiction, family, bisexuality, unrequited love interests, racism, social media, corporate disasters, cancel culture, suicide and Covid, Covid and more Covid.

Steve Carrell is the best thing in the show and they make some decisions that put an end to all the possible great story lines. The frustration of it all made me feel like I should have been in the writers room to set them straight.

The final episode is epic

10/10 for the butt plug episode. Pure gold. As for the whole series, it is actually pretty good. WWe need more of these independent episodes that don't force you to watch hours of series.
