Spaceman (2024)
A thought
Notice the negative reviews and what they're saying. Basically most of them say the same thing: "we expected a boom boom boom fast fast fast paced movie and this is not it so it's bad" some even said this literally. This movie is deep, but simple enough for simple people to understand. I'm sure it opened at least one heart of someone who watched this movie, other than mine of course. And what other point should this movie have? I've read the negative reviews on purpose to take in another perspective. But what I encountered was not the feelings of them but their logical thinking mind, their "values" and "principals", like they didn't actually bother to listen and observe what was presented right in front of their faces! And this movie is probably aimed especially at people like that.
True Detective (2014)
An amazing show ruined by it's last season
Obviously as everybody who watched this show knows, season one is an absolute masterpiece. Then came season 2 which to me was also incredible and deep, despite all the negative reviews. S2 really was amazing in my opinion. S3 was real good too, better than most things we get on TV these days. It was slow paced but, again, despite the negative reviews I simply loved it.
Now.. what happened? What happened to envisioning an amazing series and actually making it with deep thought about every single part of it, like has been done with the past seasons? S4 is a joke! A sad joke. Are they expecting us to watch it and be happy because "wow! Its true detective!"? What were they thinking? It seems to me that most actors themselves were good (except the awful performance by "Aka Niviâna" which was just completely disconnected from other characters. What a joke) but it seems like the actors didn't have much to work with in the first place! The dialogue was so unrealistic, nothing was believable, and they were also using cheap tricks to fake character development without actually developing the characters, lol!.
Also the supernatural element in the show was done in such a cheap way, it looked like a low budget horror movie. This entire season should've been called something else entirely and shouldn't have been a part of the True Detective franchise. It doesn't resemble any of the last seasons in any way other than a huge budget.
The most ridiculous scene was when Danvers and Navarro told the story of how they found Annie's boyfriend, saying "he shot himself in the head" and then showing us the flashback of what really happened, of him sitting on a chair, alive and whistling, lol. Yeah, that was so deep and mysterious, so interesting and something we've never seen before done right? Haha. That scene just felt so cheap like there was zero thought behind it, like someone in production saying "lets do that! That's creepy and scary!!". Really disappointing.
Ozark (2017)
Once again, an amazing show destroyed by greedy producers
How dare they simply ruin such a masterpiece of a story? Season 1 was incredibly in-depth, acting was good to the point of perfection, the writing was incredible. Everything about it was 10/10.
Season 2 was close. Still very good. But then came the dreaded season 3.. the story keeps on going, getting stretched to the unrealism realm. Illogical decisions by the characters just to stretch the story, just to milk the show.. from season 3 and on, it's like they saved up on character development just to give us a few explosions.. the magic and vibe of the first 2 seasons is GONE, and not only because of the new super 35 cinematography format.. the whole thing is entirely different. Like 2 different versions of the same thing. Season 4 is the flattest of anything I've watched recently... how pathetic do you have to be to ruin such a great show with such a flat plot and a complete lack of logic behind anything?
Jonah apparently became a computers god, but it all happened in the background! There is 0 character development, what did they think? That a few flashbacks to marty's childhood are enough? Btw, EMPTY flashbacks that add nothing to the show and the character. Why not show us how jonah learned software engineering? Even a glimpse of it would be good enough.. why not show us ANYTHING about wendy's past? At one point I realized that not even once they bothered to show anything of her past. Btw, her crazy brother showing up out of nowhere.. isnt character development..
anyway, this show is ruined, typical for Netflix. They do this all the time. They release one or even two incredible seasons.. and then either cancel the shows or simply cheap out on everything and rush to release illogical and unfinished footage. Imagine creating a streaming service empire that is based on destroying art pieces. That's Netflix for you. Very sad.
The Handmaid's Tale (2017)
The focus on suffering makes the show extremely awful to watch
The acting is incredible, of course. Everything is made extremely well. But the issues make this show unwatchable for me. The show is extremely repetitive, we've seen hundreds of the SAME kind of scene over and over and over again. It gets tiring after a whole season of a non progressing story. How long can you stretch it? After a whole season I'm wondering what is there to even show us the viewers? We've seen them getting raped, we've seen them working the poison fields, we've seen the same type of interactions so many times. Why is the story progressing so slowly? Is this what happens when there is an endless budget for a tv show? Sad. Could've been really amazing. But they focus only on how much those women are suffering. We get it. We really do! It's disturbing, sad, sadistic and insane. But we've seen it over and over again.. jesus! Like some type of brainwash we're viewers going through.
The Edge of All We Know (2020)
I held on for 45 minutes
Wow.. It's super slow and boring. Right before I quit, I realized that all I'm doing is simply WAITING. Waiting for the information that was promised to us viewers, to be delivered.. and it never did. How boring can you make such an interesting subject? So much talk about Stephen Hawking, but barely anything of what he actually says about black holes. But of course, the film is filled with music that supposed to give some sort of tense atmosphere.. I wanted to watch this documentary in order to receive information. By crossing the half time, there barely was anything. All they were showing is those scientists talking about things that simply don't matter at all.
Black Adam (2022)
Very bad movie.
I don't like crapping all over art pieces. And movies are a form of art. But nowadays movie producers think that a massive budget is enough. Imagine what someone with a real vision could've done even with 1/10th of the budget "black adam" had. The movie started ok, I wanted to see more. But after the first fight scene, the movie turned into one big explosion. It was repetitive, shallow, and extremely boring. Obviously, a normal person can't produce such a movie. The cgi itself costs a fortune. But I just think to myself what I would've done with such a massive budget. How can a fast pace movie without a plot be so successful?.. No idea..
Monster (2022)
Extremely creepy, but also easily watchable.
This is a crazy, sick and psychotic story about a damaged young man. He has so many repressed emotions, he constantly tries to be heard, in his own way, but no one around him even tries to listen. The adults in his life keep dictating his path, completely ignoring what he feels and thinks. I suspect that the real events, the most disturbing ones, and the real evil side of Dahmer aren't shown here. From time to time they expose his real evil, what you can't really sense in his day to day life as presented in the show.. from time to time they expose an extremely disturbing situation, giving us a glimpse of his crazed, lost mind. This show is creepy and depressing, they delivered such an in depth look into Dahmer and the people around him, yet managed to tone down the insanity, making it watchable. Very well made show.
What Is a Woman? (2022)
I'm shocked.
Wow. I live in Israel, not the most advanced country, but also not the most primitive. In here there was always a very open talk about transgender people, and I thought it's like that everywhere else.. well, I was wrong. Apparently in the US, things are different and went to the extreme. Apparently in the US, when a child feels that they don't belong, and question their sexuality, (it's extremely natural, many people discover who they are only when they are finally adults) those insane people convince those poor children that their sole problem in the world is that they are not their sex, that deep inside they are the opposite gender. Brainwashing them with crazy books and media. I had no idea that there is an entire nation of craziness! I was shocked to discover that in this movie. Wow, what an eye opener. I laughed hysterically when I realized that those people are 100% serious!! Educated "professors", claiming there isn't a simple, real truth of such a simple question regarding science and biology. I was SHOCKED when I watched this movie. America, what is going on with you?? 😂😂😂.
The documentary started off with a comedic vibe, but very quickly turned into a horror show. Scientists who abused children as "research" and now became the gods and idols of those who believe little children should go through surgery to change their gender. How can people be THIS corrupt? I heard the sadness and frustration in the dad's voice when he described how he fought for his daughter's life when she decided, at age 13, to inject herself with poison in order to "pause" (more like completely stop) her puberty. How can a child decide such a thing? The answer is: a child can't. The influence from that crazy society is what causes this confusion. Instead of supporting kids, you convince them they are something else than what they really are? Further damaging them? I was shocked. It really did turn into a horror movie. It was extreme and made me sick to my stomach. They are literally butchering kids and people with mental health issues instead of supporting them into building their self esteem and develop their identity, without even explaining the side effects, and implications of going through such violent procedures. Those surgeries are completely disconnected from nature and reality. So sad.
It's pointless to start a real conversation about the biology of a human being when so many people actually believe that it does not matter at all. So I will just say that this movie is very well made, and I wish the best to America, jesus christ!.
Black Bird (2022)
Sepideh Moafi ruined the show
Taron Egerton is an amazing actor. His performance is incredible in Black Bird. But Sepideh's was awful. So forced, so fake, it felt like she's simply reading us the script, there wasn't real acting in her dialogue. There was some emotion in her voice, but her facial expressions were less human than of a robot. She was simply reciting the script and it was incredibly annoying. Too bad. She really ruined it for me.
The Sandman (2022)
Amazing
I saw the reviews. And watched it. People have forgotten how to observe and listen to things. So many people went to watch this show in expectation of something that the writers of the show didn't intend to present. Some odd, childish comics readers or should I say "graphic novels" as to not offend their fragile egos. Some marvel fans who expected one big explosion as a tv show.. And some narrow minded people. This show is special, it's wide in depth and isn't cheap like most of the things we are used to see everywhere. Someone said "dull characters".. While there are entire episodes dedicated to a single character's personality, behavior and psychological conflicts. How about watch this show with an open mind for once? Don't expect there to be something that you think should be there. Watch it with an open mind and be surprised with the interesting advances of the story. Enjoy.
Animal (2021)
From a wildlife photographer's perspective.
Nature is amazing. No more words are needed. This series is absolutely incredible. Rashida jones, are you kidding me? What an amazing narrator. So professional, so interesting, she has a perfect voice. Hope to see more things from her. The video footage is.. simply stunning. So many artistic angles and compositions, I felt the cinematographer's love to nature and wildlife, they not only filmed just to document and get the shot, I felt like I was THERE. The colors, the sharpness, the amazing scenes, I couldn't lift my jaw off the floor. The music was incredibly thrilling, keeping you in the moment with the predator's behavior and actions as Rashida describes the scenes with her sharp, professional, intense narrating. What an amazing masterpiece. I've watched everything from Nat Geo to everything BBC has to offer, I've had my fair share of encounters with wildlife in nature but still, this series kept amazing me over and over again. It literally hypnotized me. Thank you so much for creating and capturing the beauty of nature.
Dances with Wolves (1990)
Look at us, we're a sickness to this world
Today was my first time watching this film. I'm a wildlife photographer and I take great pride in the connection I have with nature and the photos I captured of wildlife, from tiny bugs to Wolves and Gazelles. With my own eyes I see what we're doing to nature, we are a sickness to this wonderful world. We dream of reaching heaven when we finally die and we miss out on everything life has to offer. Deep inside we know how horrible we are so we don't even feel we deserve to enjoy on this earth, so if it's not for us, let's destroy it, right?. This film represents what I've been thinking and feeling ever since the first step I took in nature. We take and take and take and only think about the next thing we're gonna get and about how much money we have and we're in a constant race that will never end, a chase to be better than our neighbors. We destroyed almost every part of this earth. Murdered each other, murdered animals and deforested almost every ancient tree that ever existed. When I look at you I feel sick. I have very few connection with people because of it. You all make me sick. Thinking about you and what you've done, and keep on doing, makes me want to throw up. Wake up. Wake. Up. Stop this madness. Think about your actions. Be aware of your thoughts and emotions. Stop being a goddamn robot. Live actively, you're all living on autopilot and thats no way to live. Find love, it exists deep inside you, when you finally find it, when you finally feel connected to this earth, to the trees, to the soil, to the wildlife, then you'll know you've finally woken from the long deep sleep you were in your entire life. If you feel more connected to asphalt, cinderblocks, concrete and the fast pace chase of this insane society.. know that you're simply repressing your true self and you will never find it as long as you keep living in that awfully sad way.
The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It (2021)
"Somebody call 911".... *FACEPALM*
The movie is set in the 80s.. and there's a "call 911" scene there.. Yes.. please call 911 for me, I'm about to have a stroke due to the extreme IQ loss I experienced after watching this movie.. It was so bad. Nothing like the previous two. The entire movie simply happened, I didn't feel connected to any of them, the acting seemed so forced, everything was repetitive.. the jumpscares were really lame, with sudden high volume music to simply blast your ear to try to freak you out.. there were times that we did get flashes of the intense vibe of "The conjuring" universe, but it wasn't enough to save this movie. It was simply bad and very boring. The previous 2 were amazing in my opinion.. sad.
Avatar: The Last Airbender (2005)
Amazing, deep, spiritual, funny, sensitive.
This show is amazing. it's audience is supposed to be kids. thats why it's so amazing. because it's so much more than a kids show. there are life lessons to learn from this show, things that I believe in and have lived by long before watching this show. Things that are written in the book "The Alchemist". Things that I've learned in life, from complex experiences.. This show is about spiritual experience that leads to the realization that love, peace, acceptance, and being present in the moment are the purpose of life. other than the complex things that are hidden behind the mask of an innocent kids show, there are many many positive subliminal messages that are aimed towards children. messages that are there to teach them about love, about listening, about accepting, about will, and about passion. messages that contradict our social norms, or maybe not contradict, but rather just there to remind us what's really important, because in the day to day life we tend to forget..
This show is for everyone. it's funny, special, it can be dramatic but the main focus is on the flow of the world. the flow of "destiny" you can call it that. the flow of energy or life, doesn't matter the word. the flow of things I suppose.
This series is clean of ego or control of anything. it makes you feel free.
Enola Holmes (2020)
6.7? more like 0/10
Another useless movie, barely a plot, lame acting, no point at all in watching this movie.
The Haunting of Bly Manor (2020)
Tried to love it, Like I did the previous one..
But this isn't anything like the previous one.. the story advances so slowly, to the point of being boring, the acting is very good but everything is SO repetitive, and honestly very disappointing. This is more of a story about troubled people than a scary and deep story of spiritual experiences, like "The haunting of hill house".. The story is too slow paced. too slow. I'm not looking for action movies with no plot. I just expected it to be as good as the previous one. And it's not.
I'm Thinking of Ending Things (2020)
No point at all in watching this "movie"
It has absolutely nothing to it.. yes the story can be explained, but even after its explained, you ask yourself, why did I watch that? and there isn't a reasonable answer. there's nothing to this movie, it's empty, pointless to watch, repetitive, full of nonsense dialogues that add absolutely nothing to your life, just a pile of melancholy crap, compiled together in a tense atmosphere. This is a very bad movie.
The Perfect Date (2019)
Bad acting, bad writing, good camera work (this is another netflix trend)
What's good about this movie? it's a generic movie about nothing at all. the acting is so bad to the point of unwatchable, and I seriously can't think about one thing that was made properly about this movie.. It's just a movie to pass the time..
Hanna (2019)
Could have been better, gave it 10 to balance the hate
I tried very hard to love this series. It's intense and the acting is just perfect. the problem is pretty much how the "good guys" manage to be bulletproof.. seems like bullets can't hit them and the "bad guys" get their throat sliced by knives when they are the ones with the guns! it's just not realistic and not serious.
Captain Marvel (2019)
Not a movie for chubby cartoon watchers/40 YO comics readers
This movie has a plot. Finally, a Marvel movie with a GOOD and interesting story. I was shocked to see the low score on IMDB, but then again, I'm always shocked at the HIGH score Marvel movies get. Apparently, when a movie has a good story instead of just explosions (not that "Captain Marvel" lacks explosions) the usual audience doesn't like the movie!!. Every single marvel movie except Ant-man and Deadpool LACKED proper character development and a decent logical plot that is for people with average intelligence and not 5 year old kids (or 40 year old comics readers for that matter). "Captain Marvel" is very special, the acting is just amazing, the writing is one of the best of any marvel movie (it's normal for other movies, just very special for Marvel) and I personally enjoyed every second of it. I don't give a rat's ass about comic books, I came to the cinema to watch movies, not to see how the director followed every single stupid, silly and pathetic thing that shows up on the comics. Anyway, amazing movie, I hope they keep making them like this instead of how repetitive, boring and bland they made "Avengers".
Black Mirror: Bandersnatch (2018)
Are you really free to decice?..
The first major decision you need to make MUST be a "no". And it's an offer you can't refuse. I just don't get the point of it if they force you to say "yes" and then force you to say "no" otherwise you're just stuck.. This is garbage.
Bad Times at the El Royale (2018)
These days it's only sex, drugs, and gore.
They trick you with camera angles and FORCED atmosphere (by abusing music of course) into thinking this movie is any good. sure the great actors really make you believe it.. But in the end this is just another pointless movie. There's just nothing to it.
The Nun (2018)
Ruined the trilogy?
"The Nun" is nothing like "The Conjuring". The latter is thoroughly done, well thought, has amazing acting and (Thankfully) LACKS jumpscares, which only makes the plot even more believable and original...
Unfortunately "The Nun" is nothing like "The Conjuring".. The writing is flat, the music is bland, the acting is mediocre and there's plenty of pointless jumpscares. The nun is a bad movie, just like 90% of the horror films.
Peppermint (2018)
What did i just watch?
What did i just watch? this is absolutely hilarious!!.
Lets go through the movie just as it was shown..
She and her family get assassinated, but she survives.. then she recognizes the ciminals and there's a preliminary hearing, which then the judge decides there arent enough evidence to put the criminals in jail.. she goes crazy, and the police tries to get her admitted in a psychiatric hospital.. she escapes...
The next scene is the 3 criminals hanging from a Ferris wheel in the park the woman got assassinated in.. and then for the rest of the movie she kills an entire mafia..
How did this happen? how did a regular mom turned into the terminator? the only hint is the daughter at the start of the movie when she said to her mom "you should've punched her lights out" when the other mom from the school was kind of a brat.. thats the only hint.
Anyway, it was really a waste of time.. i really love Jennifer garner though..
Jessica Jones (2015)
What the hell is wrong with netflix?
First season 10/10.
second season 1/10.
what the hell is going on with netflix? first of all, every single series that netflix makes is absolutely amazing IN THE FIRST SEASON ONLY. after that it turns into pure garbage! but in order to make people watch the rest, they invest in everything but the story. they force atmosphere with music, forcing the shows' vibes.
too GORY. too much PORN. netflix, why? there is so much unnecessary gore, and too much porn in your shows!!. this is pointless. it ruines everything for people that actually pay attention to things....
