This Is Us: Us (2022)
Beautifully simplistic ending to a beautiful show
This show always knew how to tug at your heartstrings. It became a staple of the show to be able to do this so effortlessly, while maintaining the ability to showcase a perfectly imperfect family dynamic throughout several decades.
Always a brilliantly written series, and this episode was no exception. We were provided with enough of a conclusion to the story to keep us satisfied. We knew (thanks to the cast) that this episode was going to feel like a hug, which it definitely did. We didn't need to be given one last shock at the end, or a final twist. It's always been about love, loss, and family. This is what we saw within these final 40 minutes. I will definitely miss this show, and this final episode has taught me to enjoy the little moments while you are in them. Thanks, This is Us.
This Is Us: Every Version of You (2022)
Randall and Rebecca showcase
Wow, this episode knocked it out of the park. Stellar performances from Sterling K Brown and Mandy Moore. Can't forget Lyric Ross who plays Deja, who is a fantastic young actress.
Out of the big three trilogy of episodes, I'd say this is the strongest. Randall and Rebecca's road trip was enjoyable to watch and I like how we got an insight into Rebecca's choice of executor.
Brilliant set up for next week also. We all know that the smoker Toby has bought essentially destroys his marriage with Kate, but HOW it does so is the real question.
This show is for sure going to up the intensity and depth of story in the lead up to the much anticipated series finale.
Can't wait to see what unfolds next week.
This Is Us: The Guitar Man (2022)
Kevin's final solo episode
Wow, this episode did a fantastic job at showcasing Kevin, who has always been portrayed so masterfully by Justin Hartley.
Although it seemed to be running a bit slow, we got to see the initial stages of Big Three Homes, which we knew that Kevin was going to be forming at some stage.
Clever writing in how he wants to give veterans a new opportunity for work as well.
It seems as though everything we have seen for the past 5 seasons is starting to piece together, and I feel we are going to see some interesting stories in the next 2 patriot episodes of the final Big Three trilogy. Cannot wait.
This Is Us: Taboo (2022)
Heartbreaking but necessary episode.
This episode gave us a look at 3 different thanksgivings over the three time periods. Teenage big 3, engaged Jack and Rebecca, and present day big 3.
It was nice to see the connection between the timelines, this being the secret ingredient for the dessert being passed through generations.
The disease Rebecca has is starting to really shape where the series is headed, with the post-dinner conversation about end of life care.
Mandy Moore deserves an Emmy for her performance in this episode, she's phenomenal in this role.
Can't wait to see the beginning of the Big Three trilogy next week.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine: Balancing (2021)
Nice callback to earlier episode
This was another solid entry to the final season. It provides the viewers with an unexpected callback to an earlier season (S5E21) where Jake was talking about his "white whale" who has been taunting him for years with a deck of cards. "Looks like deuces are wild peralta!"
Brilliant writing and excellent story. It's nice to see Jake and Amy going through real parental issues, such as work/life balance.
The emotional acting from Andy Samberg is brilliant yet subtle, which gives a sense to the audience that he really cares for this show and this character's development.
Can't wait for next week!
Brooklyn Nine-Nine: Blue Flu (2021)
Great episode
This was a great episode, filled with Jake and Charles moments that have been lacking in the first 2 episodes. Can't wait to see how it all ends.
It seems as though people are hating on the show now because its "too political" and its feeling "forced."
The reality is that this show has always dealt with difficult issues. Stop hating on the show because you think it's popular, enjoy the show for what it is. A brilliant comedy that tackles real-world issues.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine: The Lake House (2021)
Classic episode
This episode gave me old 99 vibes!!! These actors have really become these characters over the last 8 years and it was very obvious in this episode. Extremely funny and the comedic timing is perfect. Sad to see this show finish!
This Is Us: The Ride (2021)
Beautiful storytelling
This show never fails to impress. Wonderful interwoven stories told through various generations of a perfectly imperfect family.
They aren't afraid to show the realities and feelings of self doubt that come with taking a baby (or babies) home for the first time.
Also, I gotta commend the casting. The older versions of Deja and Annie are spot on!
The way older Déjà talks is spot on when compared to the present day Déjà does.
Everything about this show just hits beyond the mark.
Can't wait to see what happens next!
Supernatural: Carry On (2020)
Poetic and true to the characters.
People are saying that this was a ridiculous way to end the show. I respect their opinions but I have to disagree.
It was bittersweet, sure. BUT, it was true to the winchester brothers.
Dean always said he wanted to "go down swingin."
Sam always longed for a normal life.
Dean died on the job, and Sam ended up with a wife and child.
Sam and Dean being reunited after death was beautifully done.
Congrats to the cast and crew on 15 brilliant years.
This Is Us: Strangers: Part Two (2020)
Common sense
For those who don't realise... it's called strangers part two because the premiere of season 4 is called strangers.
