I enjoyed this movie. A little clumsy in some parts, but i found it delightful. I've sheets loved Jeremy Irons & as an older person, love seeing older love. The chemistry between him & Diane Keaton worked. Comedy from Irons was surprising but welcomed.

I'm really trying to like this movie. Waiting for it to get better. The script is bad, dancing, doesn't even look plausible that she dances like her mom, if hermom was a dancer, a drill sergeant-like dad & mean girls, predictable, formulaic & wooden acting. Waiting to see how it ends. I'll come back & update my review. Not so bad that i wont watch till the end, but director or someone missed the mark on this, so far, 53 min in.
Another 10 minutes awful. The intent is appreciated but overacting is just bad.
The angry moments of the character was over the top, but the more vulnerable moments better.
1 hr 28 min in, then it was ok.
Stephen, the friend was the most believable character.
Last 15 minutes tender moments. Dancing @ end was believable.
But a big chunk of the movie, not so much.

These stores have been told many a time, predictable. While to acting of Mena & Laura are good, The story is slap sticky, NY accents over exaggerated (coming from a Native NYer). If they could have done away with some of the cheesy stuff it could have been so much better. I don't fault the actors, but the person who created this story.

I was all set for this to be the typical formulaic Hallmark Christmas movie. I was pleasantly surprised that instead of Finn huffing out in a storm, when he heard she was being offered the job, he was gracious & wanted her to be happy. Marie Osmond's Character not a big fan of, but the 2 main characters had great chemistry. They painted such a picture of Alaska, it made me want to visit. The blown glass art was amazing. Plus rather than the gift almost always taking the lead, it was nice to see assertiveness of the female. Good job.

Because of the back & forth of real golf tournaments, & childhood photos, I really thought this was based on our in-house by a true story. The writing & editing was spot on. I also wanted more. But it was good. Not a golf lover, have watched a tournament or two, but not a follower of the game. The chemistry between the 2 main characters & between the brothers were very good. Great story telling.

Unrealistic plots, weak story lines but good acting by Washington

NOW THAT I'VE GOTTEN THAT IT OUT THE WAY...
This was a case of good acting paired with midiocre writing. It was enthralling, but to tumble on a car, run through a house, shot in the arm, stabbed, cut, jumping off cliffs, while injured, jumping on a car from an unbelievable height, shot in the gut, & still standing, & no coherent explanation why the Agent at the Embassy was involved, well for Regular Joe, turned Daredevil, if there were stories taken from headlines, maybe. They should have drawn more out of tidbits at the beginning, why there was a bottle of ambient, should have had flash backs pulling the bits & pieces, of the reading for the Ambient, whose was it, & bunch of other things that could have brought better clarity.
That being said... I'd like to see Washington in other stuff. He did the best he could with what he was given. Since parts were very good, some parts fantastical & unrealistic.

Morbid but hilarious

Days before this movie was announced, i read the true story, in the NYTimes. It was hilarious even though morbid. Truth is stranger than fiction, & the article painted an even fantastical story than the movie. Jack Black deserved the Oscar for this. He played the role perfectly. Try to find the article. Wether you read the article first or watch the movie, if you'd rather not have spoilers, is your call.

It pays to read info. The fact that many id The across were former veterans make sense that it wasn't polished. Some of the acting was a little clunky, It was apparent lead, which plays Nick is a more experienced actor. It was sort of a take on A Christmas Carol or It's A Wonderful Life. The message was appreciated.

I soooo wanted to like ths show. Ive seen them both in other work, but playing 2 incredibly good lioking people for eye candy with saccharine sweet love scenes was vapid. Both are multi-lingual, so there's that, but it was under utilized. They needed a better script, a better back story, something to look forward to tune into, better co-stars, guest stars, less bedroom scenes, more ripped from the headline plots, something to make you think, something to make you feel, atear-jerker moment or 2, something to make you take a vested interest in the characters besides their looks, a big secret or 2 revealed along the way. I loved her in Touch, Belle, & other work. I loved him in The Gospel & Crossing Jordan. So it was not them.

The music was vapid valley girl, & the friends horrible, but towards the end i like the message it was trying to make. I wished it was clearer more at the beginning or that at the end there was a school assembly that talked about the effects of bullying. There were other ways i wished the movie turned that made the friend get exposed for lying about juliet, about making amends for the effect it had on her, that a relationship with Sam & Juliet could have started. But for the most part it was good.
