American clichè
6 November 2022
Right from the start this series strike me as an American clichè. Especially the fact that all guys fall for her immediately even without her even having had the time to show any form of personality. It fits into the idea many Americans seem to have that being American in itself is so appealing that every European guy falls head over heels in love. Unrealistic and flat. Don't get me wrong, she has a personality so it's the probably the storytellers fault that they don't show this first. I couldn't make it past the second episode because of the clichès so that's why I at least give it a 5 instead of a 2 to be fair because I can't judge the whole series based on 2 episodes.

Witty and entertaining!

Season 2 is even better than season 1. It's super witty and the actors impress over and over again. It is pure joy to see Elle and Nicholas interact. Would have given 10/10 but too much graphic content brings it down to 9. Well done!

It's everything we didn't want to see
13 January 2022
I have been waiting for a Sex and the City sequel for so long but now I wish that I hadn't seen it. It's really everything we didn't want to see and it would have been better to just have imagined how their lives would have been in their 50's rather than seeing it. I would have imagined totally different lives for them, this sequel doesn't have any of the charm of the old show. Sorry to say but it's a cringe-show.

Don't overanalyze, just enjoy!!

Okay, so I'm tired of hearing/reading peoples' overly critical reviews for this film. If you cannot see a film without breaking it apart and scrutinising every part like it's some kind of science project, of course you will find flaws with any movie. But calling this film a disaster and advising others against even seeing it is silly.

So back to the review: I love the book and the old version of the film (I've watched it many times). That aside, I really like this version too. I have watched it 3 times so far and there's no denying is a highly enjoyable film to watch, it's visually stunning and it's filmed in an interesting way with unusual angles and perspectives. The music fits the film and the actors/actresses are all super talented (as we all know). The film gives me a cosy murder mystery cluedo-feeling throughout and I will definitely watch it many more times.

Beautiful movie. Timothée Chalamet is more than brilliant. He makes you believe everything is real, every emotion, every scene, everything. Sweet, lovely boy
