The Dave Chang Show (2018)
In Between...
The guy looks good, his food looks good but I can tell you I would never eat at his restaurant and if I was one of the people sitting in front of him while he was cooking, I'm not sure how I'd politely decline his food. I can deal with a lot of things but I do not like how he double-dips with the same spoon when he is tasting his food. This isn't his family he is feeding - I'm not totally sure it's okay then, I don't even do it then but it's more acceptable. Honestly, all of you are going to think I'm being picky but I'm not! I'm not one of those people who think wear gloves, wear a hair net, etc in your own kitchen but using your mouth when you're feeding others is a whole new ballgame to me!! Also, a lot of time he seems too labored in finding things to talk about or making things up (exaggerating maybe). Like I said though, his food definitely seems good because it seems something anyone can make, it's not extravagant or calling for ingredients you can only get at certain stores or order online. For like cooks and bakers like us who love it and pretend we're professionals lol.
Breath (2022)
Maybe it's me
I'm really not sure what to rate this. From my understanding, she left to do her job and left her father to babysit.
Much later in the movie you're lead to believe this is all a way for the mom to cope with the loss of her daughter - when she unexpectedly announces her daughter is gone. Up until that moment I had no clue that her daughter was gone and this was the storyline - which in my opinion was a little late in the storyline.
This would have received high stars from me until this threw me off. How can Laura (mom) be headed to her research site leaving her daughter (Christine) at home with her dad/grandpa the same day she gets stuck in the hole but during this very same time, her daughter is "gone"? This makes no sense. The daughter is alive and well when she left, this movie needed a prior incident and maybe a sign she was delusional and there was no Christine with dad/grandpa. (For example, her dad was humoring her out of sympathy) But even he played with her there. Unless this was also a past scene and if it was they presented it too close to Laura leaving the house and the accident.
The Elevator (2021)
I want to know why Roman panics
I want to know why Roman panics - it's late afternoon on a Saturday and yes I might go a little crazy and panic a little bit but to the extent that Roman does - like writing a letter as if it's his last? That's a little dramatic even for a movie. My biggest concern would be; as I said - would I panic and how would I use the bathroom? Someone is bound to return by Monday at the latest. I would even guess, this is advertised as being New York, there might even be 24/7 security guards in these buildings. If not, I would be surprised. Idk maybe he's claustrophobic? I just think it was a little overboard and I love Eric Roberts acting - usually.
Life in the Hole (2017)
I like it but I'm lost?
Someone please explain the little girl - is she in on the whole thing? I watched this before but this time I got something else from it. Seems like the girl has something to do with it - "you know who I am". I have to agree with Carla, no I don't either! Maybe why I lost the whole movie at that point.
She looks at him and says, "time for your to die" and it's hard to see if she means the guard or if she's trying to imply to the guard it's time to kill Carla. On the phone - the voice says the girl has been sold only the guard has messed up and the voice tells him to "run" - as in you're dead cuz you messed up! Then the little girl is watching the guard kill Carla as if she's not one-bit phased - touches the guard on the head - not sure what that means, if anything. I just don't get it. Maybe a while ago when I watched it, I didn't care or just took it as they were saving the girl and that was that - this time I'm not so sure.
Flyboys (2006)
Not sure why this has a 6.7
Not at all a movie I would choose to watch. I was looking for another movie with the same name and turned this on. Started out good so I kept watching it. I think it was excellent. The only downfall was it was a true story so the ending kind of disappointed me - Rawlings didn't find Lucienne - but hey that's real life, back then they didn't have the resources.
Now they won't post this without 204 more characters lol so I will mention it did help that James Franco was in this movie, started liking him in Spider-Man with both his good looks, his smile, and his bad-boy image 🤣. Let me mention, I'm an OLD lady saying this.
Baking with Julia (1996)
Wish I could find somewhere more popular to post this!
Always loved Julia Child but even more respect for this show than ever before. They found a great way to keep her in the kitchen and helping. I think this was a wonderful idea - I hope this isn't taken the wrong way but you can tell it be a little more difficult for her to do it alone today but having guest chefs with her and keeping her in the kitchen, helping, and the public eye as opposing to replacing her show with another show - total respect!!!!
Let Him Go (2020)
Costner Fan but...
@fanemerald did you watch the movie? She didn't leave the Indian behind, I wondered why she didn't ask him to go along too but if you think about it, he already said he didn't belong anywhere - he's not comfortable around other people (and if you knew Indian history, you'd know why!). I didn't like that Costner's character died but more because Lane already stated she "lost both of them" - when she meant her son and her grandson, but now she lost her son and her husband. This is not the only reason I was disappointed but the main reason.
I understand feeling the need to save your grandson when you think he is being abused and look what he would have grown up with ? Mommy didn't have the courage but grandma did! I purchased this as opposed to renting and I do regret that choice but just like a lot of movies out there, it had its good and it had its bad. I would want Costner to survive, but I'm no where near a writer so I don't know what they were going for or gaining by having his character die. His support of his wife (and grandchild) got him nothing but torture (fingers and death).
Think about it, this was caused by all one bad choice from Lorna - women never know if a man is going to be like Donnie was but you could tell she knew by the wedding day, but she was probably scared already by then.
I hate giving anything with Costner in it a 6 but I was sort-of disappointed in some of this movie - but it did keep me interested.
I'm Not Here (2017)
Just a questions about the ending
I have to agree, in the beginning I kept thinking this movie is too slow (but now I have to see what happens). All of you leave reviews like you're writers, don't expect intelligent review comments here lol. I just want to know If the ending is implying the fate of Trevor was changed ? Or did Steven die and see him in heaven. I don't get it. King of made me think of Frequency and how their contact changed everything so that's why my mind went that way.
In the Tall Grass (2019)
Makes no sense - or I'm clueless
I don't get it? How can the brother and sister leave by way of "rewind" but Travis doesn't get out? Tobin might be able to get out for one of two reasons. One, Travis touches the rock and now knows how to get Tobin out or two, because he was in there before the sister, brother, and Travis. The "rewind" of Cal and Becky in the middle of the movie (when Travis is now there), throws off the ending and causes it to make no sense. Basically - if Cal and Becky never go in, neither does Travis. Ugh
