Hardcore Henry (2015)
This should be in the Hall of Fame of Action Films
I am reviewing this film by adressing the following message to it's Writer and Director:
Thank You, Mr. Ilya Naishuller and your entire team, for giving us this unforgetable cinematic experience! I will be patient. I know that You will make Us happy again in the next years.. Either with a part Two or by expanding the Henry's Universe. When i say "Us" , I am reffering to all of Us who CAN actually recognize a good ACTION film...
I really hope a "Raid 2" type of miracle will happen in the near future, where You will get a bigger budget and blow our minds AGAIN!
I don't want to see other copycats doing this kind of action films because they will most certainlly fail and fail big time, and the Studios will back off even more... So, I will be patient.
10 out of 10 stars
3 stars for decent acting and for an intriguing first 30 minutes or so, but otherwise a total waste of time, couldn't care less about any of the characters, even the ending was predictable.
I need to stay away from Cronenberg Jr. 's stuff.
Outside the Wire (2021)
Another slap on costumers' faces
Rewatch Universal Soldier, you'll be more entertained. Don't waste your time with this crap, just because it's new. The CGI in this movie looks like they made it with some free google play app. These amateurs who made this abomination even put some lame shaky cam effect on the scenes when shots are fired. Are you kidding me??

Ready or Not (2019)
Being watchable doesn't mean it's close to a 7 out of 10 rating....
First of all, don't expect a "hidden gem" type of movie, like i did, when i saw 6.8 score for a slasher movie. The bar for this kind of productions is set very low, so I thought this one is going to be special. Well, it's just watchable, nothing truly original or memorable or even shocking.
5 out of 10 stars
Just watched S3,Ep 1 and I'm officially done with this mess
I refuse to waste another 7 hours of my life. Whoever is reading this, follow your instincts on this one and quit way in advance.
P.S.: Read the 1 star reviews if you're still in doubt.
Terminator: Dark Fate (2019)
Recreating a masterpiece is impossible and pointless to even try
The director of Deadpool, the writer (story) of The Dark Knight and the man himself, Mr.James Cameron as producer and THIS was the result... Of course, a huge dissapointment...If even these people failed so miserably, then, Hollywood, please understand and stop this mess, let them create their own projects... Remake some movies with failed potential, let the perfect ones alone...
The Old Guard (2020)
I'd rather re watch Bright...
Skip this one guys, watch again Blade or Atomic Blonde, even Bright had better moments...
The good, the bad and the zeroes
The overall production value: it felt like a film split into 8 parts
The narrative technique
All well up to this point, right?
The bad... (see the zeroes below)
The zeroes 0 characters to root for... No heroes, no anti-heroes, just criminals of different races trying to survive and an outrageous number of collateral victims left behind. 0 desire to view a second season.. No one worth of redemption, i don't even care how "the villans" will be punished, humanity is hopeless anyway if even 50% of that stuff is actually happening in the world, and unfortunately it does happen.. 0 reasons to recommend it, unless you like the feeling of bitter taste in your mouth... 5 out of 10 stars but... tiny, tin, lifeless stars...
9,4 stars out of 10, it must be at least a bit overhyped, right?
Nope, no overhype here... It's that great, my friends...
You will feel it throughout every episode, you will feel you're seeing something special, something rare, something one of a kind...
Bravo to all that have participated in this amazing project!
Eastern Promises (2007)
That mobster film you were missing from your collection
This film was a very pleasant surprise when i saw it back in 2009! I saw it again recently and decided it's worth my time to write a few words...
It checked all the desired boxes for me, hence, my 10 out 10 stars rating:
1) and 2) Likeable characters, played very well by the main leads
3) Mobster movie vibe without trying too much
4) Well structured, without being overlylong or exhausting
5) Graphic violence, but nothing gratuitous
6) Believable russian accents
7) , 8) , 9) and 10) Memorable\representative scene (yes, that scene in the...)
Bone Tomahawk (2015)
The invention of "The horror western"
Dear Mr. Zahler,
You could have settled for the ultraviolence, the western setting of the action, the mistery around the villan and you would have gotten a decently entertaining movie for the audiences... But, nooo, you had to write excellent dialogue and get the best of your actors, you had to make every frame count and turn a horror-western hybrid into an actual FILM.... What where you thinking, mr. Zahler...?
I don't realy know what was your way of thinking when creating this instant classic, but i can't wait for your next invention!
10 stars for exceeding my expectations and for the unusual blend of genres
Brawl in Cell Block 99 (2017)
You know it's bad for your health, but...
So you're fatigued by superheroes, secret agents, gun-fu, remakes, but you still wanna be entertained and gripped... You've seen already 18 times your Tarantino collection... What to do...? Oh, whait, those Zhaler fliks... They're just sitting there, whispering, daring you to dive in...
I m not gonna do an analysis of this film. I will only state which people should not see it and then you, yes you, see if you qualify to sit through and enjoy it fully:
You are not allowed to see this film if:
1. You're watching one movie per week or less.
2. The most violence you stomached in a movie was that scene when Vader cuts Luke's hand.
3. You think Tarantino's films are overrated and you just don't "get" them.
4. You're on your first date.
5. And yes, if you are under 18, then.. chill... you have your whole life ahead.
For the rest of us, oh man, we're guilty as charged, we know it's bad for our health, but... we can't help it... we loved it and we want some more, mr. Zhaler!
9 out of 10 stars because the film doesn't apologise for anything and has it's spine straight as the protagonist!
The Last Dance (2020)
The definiton of "inspiring"
This documentary proves that life surpases any movie scenario! It clearly makes basketball fans realise who's the GOAT in this sport, even though that's not even the point of the show. Instead it should and will inspire young players in all sports to strive for greatness!
Even if you don't own a TV, watch this series somehow! It's one of the greatest true stories ever told on screen! 10 stars, perfection...
