The story of a villainous power-hungry corporation is a bit trite but it's finely acted by the whole cast, especially the younger ones whose commitment is faultless. And the setting is absolutely fabulous.

Stupid!
17 September 2020
First the cliché: feisty female detective (she likes friends with benefits) sees what her moronic male colleagues can't: the serial killer can't have sliced and diced all the victims he confessed to. Then the stupidity: she persuades the authorities to release said multiple murderer from prison to assist with the investigation!
Life really is too short!

Will it still be as funny 20 years on?

I've just found the tape recordings I made of this all those years ago. It was one of the most gloriously, inanely funny things I'd ever seen on television. At first, thanks to Dick Dietrick's artless presentation. I thought it was a real chat show, but then a young 'postal worker' ripped off his shirt for no good reason and the penny dropped. What made it even more fun to watch was the mainly young audience's gleeful delight at all those double entendres.
