The Invisible Man (I) (2020)
7/10
Great psychological thriller
7 March 2020
Cecilia believes that her ex husband, who's a renowned optics expert, created a way to turn invisible, haunt her and ruin her life. Obviously no one believes her so she takes it upon herself to prove it.

This movie was a wild ride. You didn't really know what to expect. I was apprehensive at the beginning because I don't like horror movies at all and I'm not for cheap scares. However, I love thriller. Thus, I wouldn't really consider this movie to be horror, it's not "scary" per se. There are no cheap scares. It's a thriller pretty much.

A thriller that deals with delusions and mental-illness, specifically bipolar. Some symptoms of schizophrenia are there because everyone thinks she's imagining it. I have a problem with this movie, though. It spoils itself in the description. "After staging his own suicide, a crazed scientist uses his power to become invisible to stalk and terrorize his ex-girlfriend."

I believe this movie would be way better if we didn't know what was happening and tried to decide that for ourselves, there might a huge plot twist element there. Moreover, this movie exposes itself way too early as well. Lastly, this movie tries to do a plot twist but fails miserably as the plot twist was very predictable, weak and serves no purpose. Overall, good movie.

The Way Back (I) (2020)

Better than expected
6 March 2020
The way back is a movie about an alcoholic former high-school basketball player who's approached by his old high-school to become a coach to a failing team. He deals with the loss of his son and his divorce atop that.

I came into this movie expecting a cliche family movie. However, this movie surprised me, in a good way. First of all, who knew Ben Affleck was that tall. I mean, I didn't watch Batman, so that's my fault. Secondly, who knew Ben Affleck was this brilliant of an actor. Ben Affleck's acting here alone is enough to save most movies. This movie didn't need saving, though.

The story-line was solid enough. Moreover, it definitely isn't a children's movie, thanks to the amount of foul-language and alcoholic environment. Foul-language wise, nothing too bad, just the usual F-bombs. Alcoholic environment wise, it was very enlightening. Overall, great movie.

Not good enough for best picture
11 February 2020
This was a good movie. However, there are plenty of GREAT movies this year. It's ludicrous to put this movie above all other movies. Joker is my favorite movie of the year, but I didn't expect it to win best picture. 1917 deserves it.

Less than mediocre script with bunch of action and explosives = blockbuster
8 February 2020
This movie is okay. It's just okay. It's a movie that you don't really like much but don't hate much to want to leave. I went to this movie with two people of large age difference. They loved it and even dared to say it was better than Joker (2019). At that moment I had an epiphany: most people care about the visuals and action; not the script. This movie is your average blockbuster all brawn and no brain. Moreover, it was not in any way, shape or form better than Suicide Squad, let alone Joker. The plot was a joke. The only redeeming factor was the few adrenaline rush moments.

Knives Out (2019)

Not a comedy but a great film
5 December 2019
I came for this movie looking for a laugh but ended up satisfied, nevertheless. I don't think this movie should be under comedy. The funny moments during the film could be counted on one hand, two if really pushing it. However, it excels as a whodunit movie. I was surprised when the movie's main mystery was solved halfway through. I thought that was it. However, it unlocked another impressive twist. The things that are left untied are tied and many clues make sense at the end.

Feel good movie
5 December 2019
This movie isn't meant to be taken seriously. It's not winning any Oscars, that's for sure. This movie is mostly meant for kids, but for me as an adult I loved it as well. I think it's nice to stop taking things seriously every once in a while and just watch a feel-good predictable movie. No need to overthink, reflect or try to figure out the ending before it happens. You just watch, smile and have fun.

Promising concept with an awful execution
21 January 2018
As a talent/singing show fanatic, the moment I heard of this show I was excited to say the least. I thought the concept was good, despite a couple of flaws such as the unfairness towards the contestants who start early. However, that definitely wasn't the worst part. Where should I start? The horrible judges, the horrible contestants, the drama or just everything in-between? P. Diddy is an awful judge, he doesn't see talent even if it was shoved in his face. It's so infuriating to see him let go good artists just for the sake of the worse ones sitting on one of those chairs. He tries too hard to be Simon Cowell, yet it just isn't working. Meghan Trainor is even a worse judge. I don't think she does anything at all, to be honest. She just sits there, looks at them, claps or cries. That's literally all that she does, no exaggeration. Now I had no idea who Charlie Walk was. However, he was nearly the only sane person on the table of the judges. He's the only one that knows when someone is a bad singer, the other judges are oblivious. DJ Khaled adds humor and entertainment to the show. Although he doesn't make such a great judge, he still is quite entertaining to watch. On the other hand, the contestants are absolutely horrendous themself. They are average AT BEST. As a reviewer said, they wouldn't last 1 second in another singing show. I thought the crowd would be smarter than the judges. Yet, the crowd decision half of the time is bad. This show is an absolute joke.
