500 Days in the Wild (2023)
Mind blowing
This documentary movie was stupidly good, the strength of this film maker was incredible, her courage and to see our nation through her eyes was a testament to how beautiful and lucky we are to live here, but also points out how we are taking for granted her beauty. The cinematography was amazing she captured the spirit of nature every step of the way. This filmmaker captured the beauty and power of nature that even the ugly dangerous parts are beautiful. I'm looking forward to hopefully see some more of her works like these. Six years to make a film is in itself an incredible project. Yes she had help and those that help deserve kudos bravo to a magnificent artist.
Rebel Moon - Part One: A Child of Fire (2023)
This must've been written by a storm trooper it really missed its mark
Well I watched all the first part one of Rebel moon, I'm on the fence and conflicted on what to say about it other then it was interesting and definitely wouldn't compare it to my seven year old self seeing Star Wars for the first time and how my world growing was Star Wars at nine I would not have been allowed into the theatre to see Rebel moon plus or would have scared me for life. This was Star Wars meets Star Trek meets game of thrones the level of violence alone.... I'll watch part two but this ... there is alot in this to farther think about. But never close to the imagination and magical of my seven year self going to see Star Wars not even close. Dad and my mom if they hadn't taken me to see Star Wars , Star Trek and superman growing up my childhood would not have been so damn good . No sure what Zack Snyder was aiming for at here but to compare to my childhood history it misses the mark like a storm troopers aim.
Nowhere (2023)
Shouting at the tv movie
This was an incredible well crafted moving left u shouting to get Mia to come up with the strength to survive, this actress deserves awards for her performance. The cinematographers gotta say kudos, such an excellent work of art here the story is incredible makes me wonder if anyone actually went though this for real. I'm sure people running from war etc probably have faced even worse themselves in real life. These type of movies with very limited cast amazes me how the writers manage to come up with enough idea to care a full length feature film. This was castaway without the annoying Wilson lol.
No One Will Save You (2023)
Surprisingly great
I went into this movie expecting a run of the mill dumb alien horror movie, that starts of slow and ends fast. Boy was I surprised with this movie, the movie ran two different storylines in one first of all. One story line left me guessing right to near the end. And don't get me started on the ending, gotta say it was an odd ending but it worked. This move reminded me a lot of an M night, Shaman movie I loved called Signs meets the forth kind movie. The heroin. In this move was perfectly well played. The movie left me more but the ending left me wondering was she there or was it with in her mind . I will not spoil it , so watch in though and make up your own mind.
The Little Mermaid (2023)
Loved it
Decided to go see this with my wife was not a disappointment whatsoever. This movie is much above and beyond what I anticipated. Hallie rocked her role a Ariel she was born for this role. Cinematography in this movie was beyond what I expected. Simply a beautiful movie lead with an amazing cast loved Melissa McCarthy's role in this movie. Hallie and Melissa truly excellent work. They both deserve awards for this role. I went into this movie with no expectations and glad I did because it was beyond what I would've anticipated it to be. I hope Disney does more of their movies like this one best live action movie I've seen since the lion King.
Shadow in the Cloud (2020)
See this movie with no expectations
This movie , I must saw was roller coaster of a movie , as time was difficult to watch but bang on for the time before women's rights was very chauvinistic , and the mix of a period piece and horror fiction at first was odd. Chloë Grace definitely. Carried this movie. In my opinion is a brilliant young actress to the calibre of Julia Robert's in her hay day. I first watched her as the little sister of Jennifer Lawrence character in the movie The Poker House. This movie was sadly a victim of COVID 19 shutdowns and largely missed for the cinematography and acting , only thing I found lacking was the story was a bit bumpy.
Winter's Bone (2010)
As always Jennifer Lawrence doesn't disappoint
An excellent movie lead my a power house of an actress backed my an excellent leading cast. The story is well written and riveting at every turn. There is rarely a movie that shows the hardships of life that doesn't drag you into the dumps . This one leaves you feeling hopeful. This movie with the atmosphere makes ya realize there is third world struggles here as well. And everything isn't always just black and white. Jennifer always plays such an excellent tough as nails marathon fighter.. would love to see this movie made into series or even second movie. It often amazing me how the location scouts made to find these places to shoot there movies like this one.
