Children Ruin Everything (2022)
Low hanging fruit type sitcom
The actors would probably be good if they were cast appropriately but sadly they aren't so zero chemistry with any of the relationships. But perhaps the casting is poorly done ironically? The children in the show actually have more talent that the adults. The jokes written are extremely unoriginal and very cringe. As someone who is a parent, it does feel like the people who wrote this show either don't have children themselves or if they do...they have someone else look after them for the majority of the time, either that or... god forbid they are just extremely terrible and lazy parents. I hope that my fellow millennials do not raise their children this way... because if they do, we are screwed. If you want something on in the background to not feel lonely, then this is the show for you.
Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin (2022)
Cringe!!
The original was well done, this is a cheap knockoff remake. Completely unoriginal, weak plot, and sloppy writing. Some of the actors are okay, but the rest... high school level drama class acting. It's such a shame as I was really a fan of the original and was excited to watch. Sadly though, like most remakes... it does not deliver. I would not waste your time inviting time into this show if you were a fan of the original and hoping to have a similar level of effort in this remake. If you don't take my word for it, go ahead... but guarantee that 20 minutes in you will be thinking the same.
Bring back good script writing!
And Just Like That... (2021)
So cringe
I've been a fan of SATC for years so was so excited to watch the latest revamped series even though Kim wouldn't be a part of it. Honestly, I had to turn it off after 17 minutes it was just SO cringe. Maybe I didn't realise it when I was younger... but has the show always been so try hard? The first episode is always an important one as it sets the tone for the rest... so the fact that episode 1 was just trying too hard to be "relevant" was such a turn off. They completely lost their charm. The characters just seem so desperate too. I'm actually glad that Samantha wasn't a character in this series because I'd hate for her legacy to be ruined by the cheesy story lines. Know your audience... it isn't 20 something gen z. It's women who grew up with the characters. It's such a shame that they decided to make the final series in this way. Even my 30 year old daughter who was a fan just rolled her eyes and walked off.
The Perfect Find (2023)
Rubbish - no worth watching.
Honestly I was expecting an entertaining film as I really like Gabriel Union... however, the film was so predictable and boring to watch. I'm actually annoyed at myself for wasting my time watching this. Good films are meant to leave you thinking about them after, chuckling to yourself thinking about a particular scene or wanting to recommend it to a friend. This did for me none of those things I kept waiting for things to pick up, but then the film was over. Most of the acting was terrible, cringeworthy and difficult to watch. The main characters had zero chemistry and felt awkward to watch. Props to the soundtrack and videography though.
Black Mirror (2011)
Disappointing season 6
After building a great reputation of being such a creative, scary, funny series it seems Charlie Brooker either has finally lost his imaginative flare or has lost creative control. I was so looking forward to seeing what season 6 would bring, given the events that have unfolded over the past 4 years. Sadly however, season 6 was bitterly disappointing. The story lines seemed rushed, lacking his creepy, exciting spark. It really did feel like someone else had written the episodes entirely and that Brooker had lost creative control. I can't say I truly enjoyed a single episode, but rather finished each episode thinking... where that was meh.
What happened Charlie? Why did you beer of track? Black mirror is no longer.
