Braveheart (1995)
Not a piece of history
This film is full of historical inconsistencies and most of which is made up. Not the film you can use as a historical truth, especially to a historian.
Kilts weren't worn at that time, bagpipes hadn't been introduced, long shanks died two years after Wallace and not at the same time. Edward long shank's daughter in-law in the first part of the film hadn't even been born and that would have been another five years later.
Anyone happen to know where the bridge in the defeat ended up on the film? Many many parts of the film were made up including how Wallace defeated the English.
Long shanks was depicted as a pagan when in reality he was of the Christian faith where as Wallace only came from low nobility of which very little of his father is actually known.
Last Christmas (2019)
Found it hard to fault.
Comes across in a Bridget Jones kind of narration but easily forgiven. Easy to watch with a twist that slaps you in the face.
I've rated it higher than some only because there wasn't much you could improve on without making it a feature film.
It leaves questions but not in a bad way. Hard to explain without giving too much away.. so I won't.
Well worth a watch.
El Camino Christmas (2017)
Not bad over all
Film starts off ok, middle part started to make me wonder why and the end patched up any tacky moments.
It's a film you could easily turn off midway but probably worth seeing out, I'm glad I did.
The Professor and the Madman (2019)
Honest story, well acted
Not a film for those living on the edge and wanting full on testosterone, but for those wanting a story, this might be for you.
It's a strong story without derailing or veering off on tangents, the acting has no compromise and whilst I'm sure viewer's may have bucket lists for actors that could have played the part for me their appointments couldn't have been filled any better. Mel Gibson died with braveheart for me and Penn was always a nearly actor but not quite. Having watched this with great concentration my views have turned. I tip my hat to this film.
Love, Rosie (2014)
Easy watch
Simply, if you want an easy watch, none of that Hollywood guns and gore then this probably worth a watch. It's an honest English film.
