Bridge of the Doomed (2022)
What's not to like!?
Fantastic zombie.creature film! I really enjoyed this and I think the negative reviewers are just plain harsh on this one. The impressively inked up Robert LeSardo, whose involvement in an endless stream of low budget horror flicks has made him a household name (and face) for this sort of thing, starts as tough as nails US Army General Vasquez. The General's unit is defending itself from marauding zombies, who have also overwhelmed the local town, placing huge pressure on the emergency services and causing the occupants to fear for their lives. Just wasn't keen on Lisa Hinds as they could have gotten a much better actress for that part! Bridge of the Doomed is about as good as you expect it to be, but at 79 minutes minus end credits it doesn't outstay its welcome, and some of the military vs zombie attacks are impressively grisly.
Quarantine Girl (2020)
Lacked so much and a weird time to release this film
Pretty boring for the most part. I felt like this could have gone somewhere with more value where instead it just falls flat on its face with no personality. Sorry Greg but this one was too weird with all the stock footage and the differences between your own mixed together. Just ain't my bag!
Art of the Dead (2019)
Fart of the Dead
Didn't really go anywhere for me. If you're expected zombies then don't watch this movie. It's a bit of a let down on that front.
Laura's Story (2019)
Not a simple watch
Stunning. Heartbreaking. Vicious. Beautiful. Terrifying. Dark. Brutal. Above all it is humane. Tomb and Smith's unmatched power study of darkness and light based around the choices we make and horrifying consequences which can await us. Most can't stomach the sheer brutality at play here. It is a stark reminder life is not promised. Only offered and we are under the illusion of control.
The dialogue in the film and the plot were literally improvised based off a simple pitch to actors Chris Shipton and Megan Groves. I can't recommend it to the casaul cinema goer. It is for the brave only. It is deeply divisive and has some questionable portrayals of the urban underground culture but it will make you think for a very long time after it ends. Me personally I was deeply moved.
Another Plan from Outer Space (2018)
Bit of a silly film
Wasn't that keen on it to be honest. I certainly wouldnt recommend this to my pals or host a bad movie night with this as the feature presentation.
