The Suicide Squad is a 2021 superhero film from James Gunn. He has been behind The Guardians Of The Galaxy and not much else. The only similarity this film had with Guardians Of The Galaxy was the verity of the song choice. Otherwise, this film was completely different.

The Suicide Squad is about a problem developing on the Corto Maltese. The new government is incredibly secretive. The only thing to get out is this certain project called "Starfish." The Suicide Squad is then sent to solve the problem lead by Rick Flag (Joel Kinnaman) and followed by Bloodsport (Idris Elba), Ratcatcher 2 (Daniela Melchior), Peacemaker (John Cena), Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Polka-Dot Man (David Dastmalchain), and many more. Also lead by from behind the scene by Amanda Waller (Viola Davis).

I was pretty excited for this film. Right when it start, I had one of those this is really happening moments. I ever read many of the original Suicide Squad comics and watched the Dirty Dozen because James Gunn said it would be sort of like that. It ended feeling like both of those things. The Suicide Squad had the same feeling as The Dirty Dozen because you had no clue who was going to die and it had somewhat of a familiar setting, It felt like the comics because of how wacky some of the villains were. It also had Starro appear in the end which it is hard to not giggle a bit when he is trying to be menacing. This film just nailed the feel. Halfway through the movie, I was trying to figure out who would live and who would die but I really couldn't. I just came to the conclusion, maybe they all will. It is just a really unpredictable movie. The story also made you feel for many parts of the characters. They did have some randomly plugged backstories for some of the characters which one of them felt plugged but the rest felt natural and gave some much needed background to some characters. When it came to the end of the film, that really helped make the characters not feel as expendable as they have felt early on. James Gunn also used some of the characters from the first that were actually good characters. He also used that as background for some character too. Overall, the characters were fantastic.

The action was some of the best I have seen in a superhero film in while. Marvel has just been making all of their action look like cartoon or some hand to hand combat that gets boring after a while. This film did all kinds of stuff, gun action, fist combat, and just had some fun scenes of just tearing through many villains. The action ended up feeling fun and stylized unlike some movie series like Fast And The Furious and Marvel films. Sometimes they used CGI blood which I have never been a fan off and sometimes it does end of looking pretty bad. The action is incredibly amazing though.

The acting obviously had to be good so the characters would also feel attachable which they ended up feeling so that means the acting was also accomplished. Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn was obviously good as it has been in the last few movies. Some fo Jai Courtney and Joel Kinnaman. John Cena has started to become a way better actor since Playing With Fire. Idris Elba as Bloodsport was also a fantastic choice. He has honestly never been bad in a movie. Everybody else also did a pretty good job.

The Suicide Squad is the movie I was looking. It was incredibly fun and also had some really fantastic characters even if one of their backstories felt plugged. I would recommend this film to anybody who has fun with action movies and wants to have a good time.

Luca is a 2021 animated feature from the studio Pixar. It had a right to Disney plus release which was sort of disappointing because theaters were open and it probably would have made some good money. It would have also been good to see all of the beautiful colors on the big screen.

Luca is about a kid named Luca (Jacob Tremblay). He lives down in the ocean with his parents who don't let him go anywhere near the surface because of the humans. He then meets this one kid, Alberto (Jack Dylan Grazer), who goes to the surface frequently. They both go into town and meet a girl named Gulia (Emma Berman). She is really training hard to win the race against the town bully. The kids both want to win the race as well so they could get enough money to buy a vespa, but Luca's parents are also trying to bring Luca back down into the ocean so nobody finds out his true identity.

Pixar has made some of the best movies in recent years from Coco to Incredibles 2 to Soul. They have all been some of the best movies I have seen in recent years. They have also been behind their fair share of just mediocre movies like Onward and The Good Dinosaur. I think Luca goes right with the mediocre movies. It was fun and had some fantastic imagery but the story just felt put together to visit this location and test out the animation that they used. The story was just bland and didn't really paint a good picture of who the main character is. So it was really hard to care for Luca when we didn't know anything about him and why he really wants to leave his house. The bully also is stereotypical and has his entourage of people he hits or gets mad at when the hero does something he doesn't like. The movie didn't really even have that good of point. It was really just get away from your parents and win a vespa. That being said the story still ended up being fun enough to enjoy the rest of the movie and it never really made me feel bored, it just made feel no connection or empathy for/with the characters.

The animation was obviously going to look like a picture. They did the realistic backgrounds like they did in Onward and Soul for this film. It really worked to the films advantage because of how beautiful it ended up looking. They also toned up the brightness of the colors. That is why I was saying it would be nice to see the film in the theaters. The character animation had a little different style than what Pixar has been doing and I thought it worked. All of the animation was superb.

Luca felt more like an experiment than a full fledged movie and that ended hurting it a little but the animation still made the movie look like a postcard. I would recommend Luca to anybody who wants to watch a fun movie with the family and to people who have Disney Plus.

In The Heights is a musical that came from the mind of Lin-Manuel Miranda. He was behind Hamilton and was also in the sequel to Mary Poppins, Mary Poppins Returns. He had the idea for this film when he was at the age of nineteen in college.

In The Heights is about a man named, Usnavi (Anthony Ramos) who is dreaming of working at his fathers old bar in the Dominican Republic. At the moments, he lives in Washington Heights in New York City with many other immigrants from Dominican Republic. He makes plans to buy the old bar but a love interest (Melissa Barrera) and also family are both standing between him and his dream.

When I heard about this film back in twenty nineteen I didn't really know what to think. I have never seen Hamilton so I am not really too familiar with Lin-Manuel Miranda's music style. So I didn't know how the music was going to end up being in the film. I also had no clue who the director was (John M. Cho). So I was naturally just thinking it was going to be alright and I walked out of the theater thinking it was a little above that standard. I was humming the opening number quite frequently the rest of the day. That was really the only song I came away with remembering. The music was good though. Nothing made me wince of look around the theater awkwardly like in the Momma Mia movies. The film ended up being a fun time. That was what I was expecting and that is what it delivered. It is by no means at the same level was West Side Story which is what Lin-Manuel Miranda looked at for inspiration. The songs even crammed in many conversation traits just as West Side Story did. He ended up going for more of a modern day feel with much of the music he wrote for the film. There was always a bass drum of beat you hear in many modern day songs. I didn't really make the songs bad or boring but I didn't really allow any of them to stand out besides for the opening and I guess one towards the end of the film called "Carnival." But the setting that was somewhat created felt really realistic. Sort of like Do The Right Thing. That movie had a town that you feel like you lived in and I would be stunned if Lin-Manuel Miranda says he has never seen that film before just because of how similar the town felt. The main plot wasn't anything out of the ordinary for a musical. Someone loves someone and she or he gets in the way of one of their dreams but then they realize love is more important that anything you can buy. So nothing with the plot structure and it was executed pretty much the same way you would think it would turn out besides for some events towards the end of the film. So that made the film feel a little predictable, but it didn't make the movie bad because of the setting and the songs did end up propelling the story a little farther.

The acting was above par with most musicals. Most of the time it looks terrible when actors are trying to sing along to someone else singing the song like Little Shop Of Horrors. They went above that and sang their own songs. Which apparently Mary Poppins Returns also did which is pretty cool. They topped West Side Story with that. Otherwise, there wasn't much emotional acting required because most of it was told through song which it should be in a musical.

The other problem I had with the film was the transitions. They would often go from a dark scene to an incredibly bright scene and it would make you blink. Or going from a quiet scene to a loud scene. That would ruin the mood or upset the viewers eyes. It was just really annoying. Editors have been getting more careless in recent movies. They need to try to make their editing more like the Duffer Brothers. They were behind the show Stranger Things and they would ease you into a scene perfectly. More movies need to take notes from that show and especially this one.

In The Heights was a blast of a movie that sadly didn't really leave any songs to remember and had some sloppy transitions. I would recommend In The Heights to anybody who like musicals or has seen Hamilton.

The Mitchell's Vs The Machines is a 2021 family animated film from Sony Animations. They made Spider-Man Into The Spiderverse back in 2018 which won best animated picture. They then partnered with the same people who made The Lego Movie to make this picture. It was supposed to come out a while ago as did most and it was supposed to be named Connected. That is just an interesting bit of information.

The Mitchell's Vs The Machines is about a family who is growing farther apart by the improvements of technology. In fact, they families oldest child, Katie (Abbi Johnson) is heading off to college. The family decided to go on one last family road trip. At the same time, the leading tech company is releasing a robot that does everything for you. The machines then override the programing and begin to take humans captive. The Mitchell's then become the only family left and they must work together to save the world.

This film was somewhat of a pleasant surprise. I didn't think it was going to be all that good. I was happy to find out it was just a blast. It was actually funny! That is hard to find while watching a family movie now. Most movies seem to think bodily functions will always make you laugh no matter what. It is incredibly annoying. This film did have some of that towards the start but for the most part it sort of poked fun at some family experiences. Sort of like what The Great Outdoors did but for families with younger kids to watch. There were a bunch of scenes that got some good laughs out of me, not chuckles! The story was also fairly creative. It did in the end come to where you thought it would go but the way it started was pretty different.

The voice acting was nothing out of the ordinary everybody did a pretty good job. They had some SNL guys like Beck Bennet and Fred Armison voicing some robots. Also Olivia Coleman from The Crown also had a voice acting credit. The dog in the movie was voiced by Dug The Pug. I didn't even know they gave dogs voice acting credits. It was a pretty big cast of voice actors so it would have been pretty hard for the voice acting to be anything below good.

The animation style was a little different from your typical computer generated animation. They blended in some real images along with some classic animation. Some times the classic animation would make the film look a little weird just because of the stuff they did with it but for the most part it was pretty cool.

The Mitchell's Vs The Machines was a fun family film with plenty of good laughs and a somewhat new story. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to sit down and watch a funny film.

Concrete Cowboy was shown at the Sundance film festival in 2020 but then wasn't released until 2021 on Netflix. Much to my surprise, it is one of the best films from the last two years.

The Concrete Cowboy is about Cole (Caleb McLaughlin) who is getting into fights at school. His mom then drops him off at his dads house. His dad (Iris Elba), is a modern day cowboy with horses in Philadelphia. Cole also comes across an old childhood friend named Smush (Jharrel Jerome) who deals with some not so great people. Cole gets involved in both of the lives not knowing how bad one can be.

Netflix has produced another marvelous film. I don't know if the Oscar's will change back their qualification to a movie has to be shown in the theaters for at least two weeks because I don't think this film got any time in the theaters. It defiantly deserves some recognition from the Academy though. The story was purely a work of art. The way in sort of twisted your thoughts into thinking the same way Cole did in trusting Smush. That also made you really like the life that his dad is in because it is sort of like an actual cowboy. Towards the start of the film, it did drag on a little. It was really the part right after they built up some of the characters. The rest of the movie picked up a considerable amount after the first act and the start to the second. The whole feel of the film was nailed too. It made you really want to do the things these people are doing. They do all of the things that you think cowboys would have done. They tend horses, sit around campfires, and are always wearing a hat. Many films highlighting old ways in a modern world have been made recently. Nomadland told you that you can still roam around the country. I will even go as far as saying When Marnie Was There sort of highlighted exploration and not being encaged by the works of society. It is just a whole bunch of fun to be watching these sort of films.

Iris Elba is in the film which really helped the acting category out in the film but the supporting cast and main character all propelled the film forward. Caleb McLaughlin who played Cole, really helped illustrate the characters growth from being sort of meek into becoming a hard worker. It is always fun to watch someone grow into a more productive human being in movies and in books. He sort of felt like a character from the book, Touching Spirit Bear. The book was about a character who would constantly get mad at people for looking at him the wrong way. Some people then sent him to an uninhabited island were he would face many challenges. He had no technology or anything. This movie did have some characters with technology but it still sort of hit the same cord and also triggered the same feeling I got with that book.

Surprisingly the score was also pretty good. It captured both lives Cole was living in perfectly. When he was being a cowboy, they had a more outlaw theme in the background. When he was participating in illegal activity, the score had more of a rap like feel to it. In the end both of the scores sort of joined because both of the lives joined. The score really helped paint the picture the director was going for.

The Concrete Cowboy was a work of art that made me feel free but did have some dragging problems towards the start of the picture. I would recommend this film to anybody who loves horses and cowboys. Also for anybody who just wants to feel free.

The Courier is about Greville Wrynne (Bennidict Cumberbatch), a business man, who is asked the the U. S and London government's to go under cover in the USSR and gather intel. He is aided by Oleg Penkovsky (Merab Nindize) and they both uncover some secret plans that the Russians have cooking up.

The Courier came out in the a very troubled time. It came out during COVID-19. It is a smaller film that should be recognized. It does have a few big names in it but for the most part it feels like a smaller film. These are the movies I miss going to the cinemas to watch. I just felt like going to see a movie so I did and got some pop car sat down and started watching The Courier. I must say, it felt sort of like normal again. Is was glad it did. The Courier might end up being one of the best because this year is being crowded with superhero movies and giant blockbusters. There will of course be those smaller films that get into the Oscar's that everybody just has to see but I think this film might get lost in the mix of all that. The story really made the movie what it is. It is a story you don't really think ever happened but did. Obviously they made some parts more thematic then it should have been but it was still a pretty good story. It did seem to use the same structor most movies use. A lot of films that are about a historical person seem to have the same structor. The end did seem to change it and for that reason, is why I liked the end a lot more than maybe I should have. The story was pretty good though.

The acting was another strong suit for this film. Benedict Cumberbatch was hired for the main role and he gave it his all. He gained a ton a weight for the start, then got fit, then he even got skinny. It was bizarre. Jesse Buckley also did pretty good. I haven't seen her in any other movies before so I have nothing to reference. Everybody else apart of this film did a pretty good job too.

The Courier had some Oscar worthy acting but the story was a little on the bland side. I would recommend The Courier for anybody who wants to watch a good true story that make you feel good in the end.

This film has been put on hold so many times over the last few years. The first was in 2020 when they delayed the film because of the unfinished VFX and the second was later in the year because of COVID-19. Both understandable. It was the. Delayed again to 2021 where it would then release.

Godzilla Vs Kong is about Godzilla rampaging through many cities were the technology company Apex happen to be. That causes suspicion to build. The leader of Apex, Walter Simmons (Demian Bichir), sends his daughter, Maia Simmons (Eiza Gonzales), to go follow the scientists, Ilene Andrews (Rebecca Hall) and Nathan Lind (Alexander Sakarsgard) to bring Kong down to the Hollow Hearth to get some radioactive power they need. At the same time, Madison Russel (Millie Bobby Brown) and her friend (Julian Dennison) go find a podcaster named Bernie Haynes (Brian Tyree Henry) to uncover secrets of the suspicious Apex Technology's.

When the trailer for Godzilla Vs Kong dropped, everybody lost their minds. It was one of the best trailers we have gotten in a while. It looked like it was going to be exactly what everybody was hoping for, A big dumb monster movie! It completely delivered on its promise. It did have a solid story built up around the fights. The Hollow Earth theory that they have been building up was explained in this film. It was a nice finisher to the four movies because it completed what it promised to complete unlike the recent Star Wars movies. The storyline I didn't find myself enjoying was the one with the kids and the podcaster. It sort of felt like they were there just to explain many things that were happening with the movie. The heart of the movie was in fact Kong. He was almost a character himself. The characters that were protecting him were also people that weren't two dimensional. They didn't really get much backstory but you did see one the characters change over the course of he movie which you didn't get in the last Godzilla movie. As said in the trailers, there was a little girl who had a special bond with Kong. She didn't really grow throughout the movie but she was still a strong pillar to this powerhouse of a movie. This film felt like an old monster movie like Mother Vs Godzilla were in mainly focused on Godzilla because he already got two movies. Kong was the main focus of this film but Godzilla didn't come out looking like he didn't have any clue what was going on in the end. The story surprised to some extent but still is what you would expect in a typical monster flick.

The acting in the Godzilla Vs Kong isn't a highlight by far. I have seen almost all of the people in this film in another once before. Everybody did good but I wouldn't say this will be the highlight of anybodies career.

The reason why majority of the people saw daylight again to go see this movie was the action. The start had a little bit but most the action was populated at the end of the film and I did think that it started to get a little congested. It was sort of hard to follow all of the action towards the end because there were no breaks in the action. My eyes even started to hurt because I couldn't follow what was going on. It was just too much. Fight scenes need to have breaks or else the human eye won't be able to process what is going on. The bathroom fight scene in Mission Impossible six took a nice amount of breaks same for the Duel Of The Fates at the end of Star Wars Episode One. Even more in the big monster style, the twenty fourteen Godzilla film even had a fair amount of breaks in its big end fight. This film just forgot to do that and I couldn't follow the fight. Besides for that scene, the action was as promised. The start of the film had an outstanding scene with Godzilla just tearing through buildings.

Godzilla Vs Kong did in the end, keep its promise with the action but it did feel a little overdone sometimes. The story was also a nice bow on this outstanding Monsterverse series with some two dimensional characters as expected. I would recommend Godzilla Vs Kong who just wants to have a good time at the theaters.

If you don't know that story, back in 2017, there was a movie that wasn't that good. It was called Justice League. The original director (Zack Snyder) who was supposed to be behind it had a family crisis that he had to get too and while he was gone, Joss Whedon stepped in to "fix the film." So he did that and we got the film we got. People started campaigning to get Zack Snyder's Justice League. Just over a year ago, Warner Bros said they will put it on their streaming platform. Now it is out. Zack Snyder's Justice League is about Steppenwolf (Ciarán Hinds) coming down to Earth to gather these things called Motherboxes that will let the evil villain, Darksied (Ray Porter) come down to Earth and take it for himself. The Justice League find this out and will not let Steppenwolf accomplish his goal. This movie has one of the best stories I have ever seen in a superhero movie. It tops all Marvel movie stories. I think Marvel sort of screwed DC over. They had all of their light comedy action movies that just happened to have Spiderman and Iron Man in it and when DC started making their universe, people were expecting a light hearted action movie. Although Zack Snyder wanted to do a dark take on the Justice League and all of the heroes he wanted. DC has even been doing this for years with movies like Batman Returns, The Dark Knight, Constantine, and many more. It isn't a new concept at all. Just now people want comedy in action. Marvel set a standard that people want all superhero movies to be like and in the process screwed over many other superhero series or franchises like DC, The Unbreakable series, Hellboy, and more. The superhero genre used to not be all over the place. DC comes out with two films a year that is it. This year Marvel has four plus three tv shows. That is way too much. This movie did its own thing. I respect that. It was a pretty dark movie. He took his time in the movie to get to the climax and it payed off because you ended up really caring for all of the characters involved in the film. It was brilliant writing. I thought someone was lost in the process though. Aquaman didn't really have that much motivation to help save the world. He did have one small thing but he still didn't have that much motivation to do what he ended up doing. I think most people ended up overlooking it because he needed up getting his own movie that explained a lot of his backstory although in this movie, we didn't really get much of that. Overall though, the story was a strong side of the movie. The acting was by-far the best part of the movie. Ben Affleck gave a way better performance. In the other you could tell he didn't want to be there at all. Ray Fisher also was given more of a light to shine in in this film. He was given way more space to show off how good of an actor he is. Same thing for Ezra Miller. Gal Gadot did the same as she did in the first one and same for Henry Cavill. Jason Momoa also did the exact same in this film as in the first one. The CGI was pretty good for most of it being done without the technology that they would normally use. There were some scenes that could use a little touching up but I came into the movie thinking the CGI wasn't going to be a strong suit. Although, it wasn't anything that would take you out of the movie. The score was a major improvement from the first movie. Junkie XL came back and did the score for this film. I am not saying that Danny Elfman's score was bad but I liked the new take on the music that Junkie XL has been doing as well. He did this really amazing thing with vocals for the Amazonian theme. The score ended up being another improvement for the film. Zack Snyder's Justice League improved the story, color grading, and acting from the 2017 Justice League. I would watch this film over that one by a land slide. I would recommend this film to anybody who likes superhero movies and just anybody who wants to watch a good movie!

This was another movie that was delayed from the 2020 movie season because of COVID-19. It then got the death sentences of going on Disney Plus for thirty dollars.

Raya And The Last Dragon is about a city called the Heart and its people wanting to invite all of the other cities over to reunite. The Heart also cary a stone that saved the world from a virus that sweeps through people turning them into stone. One of the cities gets there hand on the stone and lets the virus back out. Years later, a girl named Raya is trying to collect all of the stones to bring everybody back together and get rid of the virus.

Raya And The Last Dragon was a good movie. I thought I would be calling it much more then that after I saw it. I even went to go see it in the theaters because I heard it looked amazing. And it did. The water and many colors displayed throughout the film looks like something out of a painting by Van Gogh. The problem was the story. They created this amazing world and amazing back story just to end with everybody holding hands a singing Kumbya. Not literally but it felt like they were about to break out singing. I came in expecting more of a life is tough ending and we have to work through it but instead it was just everybody should work together and nobody should dislike anybody. It was sort of disappointing. I don't know what happened with Disney stories. They used to make deep ones like the Lion King and Mulan but then just switched to making stories like this for some reason. I don't get it. It was just disappointing. They even shoved the dragon off to the side. The dragon was just used to make the message more effective, but instead for the whole movie I didn't like that dragon.

The acting was on par with all of the other Disney animated movies. There was nothing bizarre. Kelly Marie Tran did pretty good as Raya and Awkwafina did a good job as the dragon. Although the dialogue was a little weird too. They would use dialogue that we would use in this world. Like the slang we use and analogy's that would only pertain to us. It made you understand the film better but the world didn't feel as much like its own because of this. It was just a weird choice I didn't get.

As I was saying earlier, the animation is beautiful. Many times I was just mesmerized by how nice either the villages looked or the water going up stairs backwards. The world was also magnificently crafted. They had five different cities or clans that all did their own sort of thing. We did get a glimpse at each of them but we didn't really see much of them. That is why I think this movie would make a great video game. It could even take place during the time the first plague broke out. I just think it is a cool idea.

The action isn't a key part of the film but I looked really good. This film created many different weapons for the combat and it just looked like dancing. If a fight scene is perfect, that is how it should look.

Raya And The Last Dragon was an animation that had an amazing world and backstory built up around it but then didn't really deliver in the end. I would recommend this movie to anybody who likes watching animated Disney films or if they just want to see a good film.

Nomadland is the latest movie from the director Chloe Zhao who was also behind The Rider and will be making the upcoming Marvel movie, The Eternals.

The film Nomadland is about Fern (Frances McDormand) a nomad, who has lost everything and has now took to the road to get everything she can from life.

This film is going to be very hard to describe with words. For me, it was one of those experiences in the theaters were I was just amazed. The story was a part of that. It created many investing characters that you felt sympathy for throughout the movie. Many people you felt happy to see again if Fern met them down the road. That was a big theme of the film. Even though you are leaving someone, you will still see them later on. You don't really get messages that are that strong in movies. There was one problem that I had with the story, that was that the ending. Nomadland didn't really end in the best of ways. It sort of just ended the way it started. For some people, I bet that was a nice ending, but I didn't like it that much. That is the only complaint I have with the whole film. Otherwise, the story was a work of art.

The acting was a key part of making this film what it is. Frances McDormand gave one of her best performances. I think she has a pretty good chance at getting an Oscar for her work in this film. David Strathairn also played a pretty big part in the film. He portrayed a very likable person and just knocked it out of the park. Everybody in this film was likable. There was nobody that was hard to feel sad or happy for. The rest of the characters that you saw throughout the film were all actual nomads. They all gave pretty good performances in this film. None of them felt like the people in The 15:17 To Paris.

The scenery was outstanding. Many times, I was in awe by how nice this film looked. It really captured how nice many places are in the United States. That was one of the things that made the movie feel so special to me. The many places they went overall just made me feel like I should explore the world more and go to more places. Also just all of the opinions of the end of life just made me feel not that sad about it. It sounds weird but when this film talked about death, I didn't feel all depressed like in Five Feet Apart.

Nomadland looked beautiful and was told even better although the ending didn't really line up. Nomadland is a film I would recommend to anybody.

Coming 2 America is about King Akeem (Eddie Murphy) learning that he has a long lost son (Jermaine Flower) in the land of Queens. He also has a rival (Wesley Snipes) who wants to marry into the family and become king. He goes to Queens to get his son and teaches him how to be a prince.

Coming 2 America is just another try to bring back an 80s movies that didn't need a sequel. The first was a fun comedy that made you laugh. This film is rated PG-13 while the other is rated R. I don't think it really needed to be R because it still had some funny scenes but the thing that hurt from that was the harder shop dudes. They weren't as funny. Besides that, the movie did provide some good chuckles. The story wasn't that creative. They recycled the message from the first movie and it just felt lazy. The story wasn't the exact same but as I said, the message is the exact same. Prince Akeem's son does do the same sort of things Prince Akeem did in the first one even. The middle act also dragged on. The start of the film had so much heart and I thought it was going to be like that for the whole movie then, it just dropped all of that. There was little to no comedy in the middle act and the characters you wanted so see had nothing to do. The story overall wasn't really that good.

The acting didn't save the film because there were many other bad things but it did do the film a solid. Eddie Murphy gave a pretty solid performance. It is on the same level as the one in the first film so nothing surprising there. The same can be said for Arsenio Hall. Leslie Jones, Wesley Snipes, Tracy Morgan, and Jermaine Fowler were all added to the cast and none of them did anything out of the ordinary. Overall, the acting was good enough to call the film all right.

The CGI in the film was atrocious. There was an overuse of it on the animals and backgrounds and it just didn't make the movie look that good. They totally could have used real animals just like the first one did but they took the easy way out and used a computer. It just came across as lazy.

Coming 2 America was a movie that didn't have to be made and it followed the trend of remade 80s movies in that they don't have any plot once so ever. I would only recommend this to people who have seen the first film.

This was the first film I saw in the theaters this year. I don't think it is something you need to see in theaters but it is defiantly a film I would recommend to see there.

Judas And The Black Messiah is about Bill O'Neal (LaKieth Stanfield) who commits a crime. While in jail he meets a FBI agent named Ray Mitchell (Jesse Plemons). He gives him an offer to spy on the Black Panthers and try to make sure they don't do anything crazy. He then meets Fred Hampton (Daniel Kaluuya) and hears him give a speech and is persuaded that they aren't the worst people.

Judas And The Black Messiah is one the movies that is going to HBOMax and the theaters. I would say to watch it in the theaters just because of many of the speech scenes. They made me feel inspired in the cinemas. Not many movies do that. I watched those scenes outside of the theater and I didn't feel the same emotion I did there. If you are on the fence about where to watch it, go to the theaters. Anyway, the story I have a feeling will be one of the best we get this year. It looks like the year will be clouded by superhero films, action movies, and reboots so there won't e too much original stuff. It is al being shoved to January and February. It is sort of disappointing. The story was fantastic besides for this one out of place dream sequence. It just showed something we already knew and could have been cut out of the film. The story though, couldn't have been made any better.

It is almost impossible to say the acting isn't good with all this talent (unless the movie is Cats). Daniel Kaluuya won a Golden Globe for his work. It was totally deserved. LaKieth Stanfield is starting to become a well known name as well. Jesse Plemons had a big step up from his last film, The Irishman. He was just a side character in that movie, but in this film he had a way bigger part and he knocked it out of the park. Overall, the acting was amazing.

This film was packed to the brim with intense scenes. Physically and mentally. The scene all the way at the end even combined the two. This is another reason why I would go to the movies to see this film. There were a few shootouts that shoved you to the end of your seat. A few scenes in the film also just made the characters you like look cool. It wasn't done using violence but more of just walking around sort of like in Malcolm X.

The score was something that surprised me. If you saw the trailers, you would know that the film had the cool sounding beat but that wasn't used in the movie. Instead they went for a completely different approach with the score. The used more of a bass than electric. They also abused drums in many scenes of the film. The score was something that was sort of rejoicing to hear in some scenes but then forced your heart to pump in others.

Judas And The Black Messiah is defiantly worth your time because of the acting and story. I would defiantly try to see it in the theaters if you can but it isn't something that will be completely ruined on you TV at home.

This was a film that hurt from not being released in theaters. Instead it came to Disney Plus for Disney Plus subscribers. Mulan made more money than this film because it charged thirty dollars to watch for Disney Plus subscribers. I am happy this film didn't but this is the sort of the movie that you feel bad that it didn't make that much money because it was so good.

Soul is about Joe Gardner (Jamie Foxx) who got an amazing gig from Dorothea Williams. He then is so excited that he doesn't pay attention to his surroundings and falls into a hole and dies. He then escapes the great light and ends up in a new soul mentor program. He gets assigned to soul number 22 (Tina Fey). All Joe wants to do is get back to Earth to do his gig and twenty two doesn't want to go to earth at all.

Soul is the second movie to come out this year from the Disney owned Pixar studio. The first one was Onward which was good. It wasn't anything that was tear jerking or jaw dropping but it was a fun adventure that I think many kids enjoyed. Soul was a film I thought was going to be around the same level before reviews started coming in. I was amazed that Rotten Tomatoes gave it a ninety seven percent. That was crazy. After I watched the film I found it to be around the same level that Rotten Tomatoes had it at. Soul was pretty emotional because of the message. I found there to be two messages in the film. The one that was more to kids was to respect everyone around you. I guess adults who don't really care about anyone else could use it too. The other lesson was more for adults and most kids wouldn't get this one. The lesson was to know what your dream is and you aren't limited to one thing in your life. It was a strong lesson. For a lot of people I think it would make them think about what they like. It made me think about it. I came to the conclusion that the path I have chose is the right one (obviously because I am writing a review). The lesson has caused many people to say that this film is more for adults. It pertains to adults more than kids maybe but kids you still enjoy this film. I watched it with my five year old brother and he never got bored. He did ask a lot o questions though. So I could say confidently that this film is for everybody. The only problem I found with the story was the middle act. I felt like they were stretching the point they wanted to make a little too far and they could have cut some of it off. So the middle act dragged a little. Besides that, the story was fantastic.

If the voice acting wasn't good in this film, there wouldn't be any emotional pay off. Luckily, the voice acting was some of the best we got this year. Jamie Foxx and Tina Fey both did a marvelous job. Overall, there was no bad voice acting in the whole film. Every actor or actress delivered lines in a way that made them feel funny or emotional. I don't think there was ever a time were one actor was going for another emotion while someone else was doing a different emotion.

The feel of the film was something that clicked for me. When they were in the real world, it had a jazzy feel. When they were in the great before, it felt more comical and fresh. They both hit what they needed to do for the feel and the film. It ended up helping in the long run.

Soul is one of the best Pixar films of all time because of the voice acting and the lesson the film teaches. I would recommend this film to anybody who has Disney Plus and anybody who likes Pixar in general.

The Vast Of Night was a film I didn't even know about. I don't really even look at prime too often but after the year was over I found out about this film. It was quite a surprise.

The Vast Of Night is about a girl named Fay Crocker (Sierra McCormick) who is taking over the operating job while her mom is gone. She then is getting calls with some strange noises and calls her friend Everret Sloan (Jake Horowitz) who is the radio broadcaster. He puts the noise on the air for people to call in about and starts to get some strange calls.

As I said, I didn't know anything about this film. I never even knew it existed. I was glad I found out though because this film was amazing. I am confident to say that this film is in the top five of the year. There was almost nothing wrong with it. The only thing I wound say is that there were some unneeded shots. For example they had a single take shot were the camera just went through some parts of the town with noting goin on. Sure it looked cool but it sort of took away from the film. If they took that little scene out, the film would have been a lot better.

The story was really investing. All of the characters had depth that they set up in the first fifteen to twenty minuets of the film. You felt like you knew the characters personally. The movie really benefited from that because when they were in tough spots, you actually cared for the characters. That is lacking in many movies nowadays. It is just funny that it is special when a movie does something that films would do years ago. There are only a handful of Sci-Fi or horror movies that do this. When characterization isn't added it just gives the film a lifeless feel sort of like "Fantasy Island" which came out just earlier this year. I was so glad to see that this film took the time to give background to the characters. Another plus about the story was how they delivered the chilling scenes. That is what the movie felt to me, chilling. The reason for that were the stories. They didn't show you a flashback, instead they just let the character talk which did way more then showing you what the story teller was talking about. Another movie that did that to perfection was "The Mothman Prophecies" for 2002. It did the same sort of things and felt more scary than a film that shows you what they are talking about. Jaws also did that and it freaked you out! It is a really effective way to scare you and once again, it isn't used too often which it really disappointing. The strong point of the film for sure was the story.

Obviously I wouldn't call this movie amazing if only one thing about it was rememberable. The acting was fantastic. None of the actors in the film were big at all but they all brought a top notch performance that really enhanced the film. Sierra McCormick in particular brought a tone that matched what I think the film needed. She was sort of a nerdy person but she also knew a lot about the outside world. So she was a character that you didn't really get mad at because of what she thinks about a situation which always adds to the experience. Everyone else in the film did pretty good too but I think Sierra McCormick was the only stand out in the film.

The movie was also amazing technically. At the start you were sitting on the couch watching a fifties tv anthology series that seems like the twilight zone but has a different name for obvious reasons. Then you zoom into the into the show. That blew my mind! It was sort of like that scene in the car wash from Bullitt! There were also many great shots. CGI was almost none existent but it did look really good when it was used.

The Vast Of Night was one of the best debuts for a director that I have seen in a long time. It was technically amazing, the acting was some of the best, and the story helped make the film chilling at times. The Vast Of Night was a film I would recommend for anybody who likes to watch classic Sci-Fi films or shows and for anybody who has Amazon Prime.

Mank is a 2020 David Fincher biopic about the writer of the film Citizen Kane. His name is Herman Mankiewicz (Gary Oldman). He was assigned to write a film by Orson Wells (Tom Burke) in sixty days. Herman Mankiewicz crafts a story from his many life experiences from where he has been and what he has done.

Mank was a film a bunch of people were eager to see. I have never found Citizen Kane as breath taking as many people do but I always have enjoyed the film. I also don't watch many David Fincher films but I have seen the Social Network and a few others. I really wanted to see this film because of how good it looked. The film seemed different from what we normally get today. When the film came out I watched it a day later. I got what I wanted from the film and nothing more. I thought it was going to be a good film. I didn't think the story was going to be bland though. The story wasn't all bad. The thing that held the film back was a bunch of the middle act. There were some good bits in the middle act but majority of the middle was dragging. The rest of the story was really lively though. The start really got you wondering how he got on the bed and how he got the job. The end was a good bow on the present that told you what you wanted to know. David Fincher didn't write this film. In fact his dad, Jack Fincher wrote the film. He doesn't have any other writing credit besides this film. You probably won't find a lot of this film interesting unless you can't go by a day were you don't think of Citizen Kane. I am not that much into Citizen Kane so that might be why I found this film boring. The story was just bland and wasn't what I wanted from this film.

The acting was the best part of the film by far. Gary Oldman gave a marvelous performance. He was funny but also really good at delivering tough lines in many scenes. There is a really good chance he will take home an Oscar after the award show because of this film. Amanda Seyfried played Marion Davies an actress from the thirties. She did a solid job but it was nothing out of the ordinary. Lilly Collins who is actually Phil Collins daughter did really well in this film. She has been in Emily In Paris and Okja. The acting was just amazing in the film mainly because of Gary Oldman.

Another stand out part of the movie was how it felt. They nailed the feel of a thirties film. The score in particularly perfected the tone of the picture. It was always really cool to hear the drum beating in the background was they go into a flashback scene. Something really cool about the flashback sequences was they would say something on the screen about where they were but it was set up like a script. Also how the film looked was fantastic. Obviously it was black and white but they also added the blotches on the screen you see in the corner every once in a while. There were also sometimes hairs that ended up on screen. Those were some small things that really added to the experience of watching the film.

Mank looked like something from the thirties and the acting was some of the best of the year but the story just fell short of what it needed to be. I would recommend Mank to anybody who likes Citizen Kane or just anyone who is looking for a film to watch.

Run is the newest Hulu original film. It was originally supposed to come out on mothers day but then got moved to November. If I saw this on mothers day, I wouldn't have wanted to spend time with my mother.

Run is about a mom named, Diane (Sarah Paulson) who is really protective of her daughter, Chloe (Kiera Allen) because of how sick she is. Her daughter then suspects that her mom is keeping a dark secret from her.

Run was a film I wasn't planning on watching because I don't have Hulu and it didn't seem like something to get Hulu for. I still wouldn't get Hulu just for this movie but that doesn't mean its bad. I was at a cabin that had Hulu and I watched this film at the cabin. I was utterly surprised. I thought this film wasn't going to be that good but ended up being something much better. To start, the story was wonderfully crafted. From start to finish it had me on the edge of my seat. The only thing I didn't like about the story was one little bit at the end. I just thought it didn't need to be there at all. Besides that the story was wonderful. It was cool to see how the mother and daughter bonded at the start. It showed that they both actually did care for each other at one point.

The acting in the film was probably the best part. Kiera Allen as the disabled girl was a fantastic choice. She needs a wheel chair in real life so it added to the performance a lot. I bet if they got someone else that wasn't in a wheel chair, the part would have been portrayed a lot differently. Sarah Paulson gave a marvelous performance. She always plays such a creepy person in movies. This film wasn't her best but it was a darn good performance. The daughter and mother were really the only two actors in the film besides for some other little parts that some characters had.

As I said in the title, this film is actually thrilling. There are a lot of movies that just aren't scary at all that have been coming out. The two films this year that actually freaked me out are Run and His House. His House is a marvelous film I would defiantly recommend checking out. This film was a nail biter though. It had you asking many questions to your self during the movie about character decisions. The main character wasn't dumb or anything but the mom was the one that made you think. There were also some really intense sequences were the main character had to get something done but the mom was pretty close to her. Those always make me freak out a little bit. Overall, the film was incredibly intense.

Run put you in the shoes of the main character and got you onto the edge of your seat. I would recommend this film to anybody that likes thrillers or if you have Hulu. It is defiantly one of the best films of the year.

I bet you might not know what this film is but it is the breakout film from Remi Weekes and it is a pretty good breakout film.

His House is about two black refuges named Bole (Sope Dirisu) and Rial (Wunmi Mosaku) get released from a war in South Sudan. They end up in a house that has a evil presence waiting for them.

His House was a film that completely surprised me. I had no idea that this film was coming out but it was definitely worth my time. It is a film that is a little hard to find now. Must films are just gory and forget about the scary part of the film. This film remembered to be scary. I am not saying that films should never have any bit of blood in them but I am just saying, if you make a horror film, make it scary. This film did just that. The story was the key aspect of this film as is most. Th background that they created for the characters really helped you feel for the characters. They also did this thing were you didn't always know if the the scene that they were showing you was a dream or if it was real. That really helped make the film pretty freaky. That was also the films disadvantage. The end of the film had way too many of those scenes and it messed with your brain the way it shouldn't. It was confusing at the end not knowing if it was really happening. That was the only flaw of His House. Otherwise the story was wonderfully crafted.

The acting was the best of the year. The two main characters were executed marvelously. Sope Dirisu hasn't been in anything else I have seen but he gave a fantastic performance in this film. Wunmi Mosaku has been in some big films like Batman Vs. Superman and Fantastic Beasts. She didn't really have much to do in those films but she was in them. She sort of gave a little bit of a creepy performance. Both of the leads did fantastic jobs. Matt Smith was also in this film as as a guy who was checking on them every week or so to see how they were doing in the new house. He didn't have much to do and did good when he was on screen. Overall, the acting was pretty good.

This film used practical effects a lot. It was a genius idea that worked to the films advantage. It looked 100 percent better than just putting glossy computer generated images in there. Some of the practical effects reminded me of the Pans Labyrinth. Especially at the end.

I would really love to see more films like His House in the next couple of years. The only problem with the film is a little bit of a shaky ending. Besides that I would recommend this film to any movie fan.

Enola Holmes is a Netflix Original that came out of nowhere. I don't know why it is here but it is. Just like most movies now.

Enola Holmes is about Enola's mom (Helena Bonham Carter) going missing. Enola (Millie Bobby Brown) wants to go find her mother but her two brothers, Mycroft (Sam Clafin) and Sherlock (Henry Cavill) send her to boarding school while they go look for their mom. Enola then escapes the boarding school and meets a young boy named Tewksbury (Louis Partridge) and they go on an adventure to find Enola's mom and stay out of trouble.

I don't know why this film was made. There was no reason. As far as I know, nobody wanted it to be made either. I am not a Sherlock Holmes fan at all. I know almost nothing about him and haven't really liked the previous movie adaptions in the series either. I watched this because it was a new film that came out in the year where there is a draught of new films. I never really found this film that interesting though. I thought it looked okay and coming out of the movie, I felt like it was okay. The story wasn't bad. You never really cared about the mystery that they had going on which is normally a big thing in a film like this. Enola was an interesting character though. She was something you don't really see in the time this film took place. That is why I found her interesting. It was fun to see her absorb the way everybody else does things. Most of the other characters didn't really have much background. Tewkesbury, which is a hysterical name, didn't really have much besides the fact he ran away from his family. The story wasn't impossible to watch but there are many scenes that dragged. Those are what took away from the film. The story for the most part was good but there were problems with it.

This film had some of the better acting in the year though. Millie Bobby Brown who has really only been in the film Godzilla King Of The Monsters played the lead. She did marvelous. This is probably a film to start a solid career of acting. Henry Cavill didn't have that much to do but he was in it and he filled his time really well. He ate up the scenes that he was in. Sam Clafin sort of played the role of the villain. He wasn't completely the villain but he did some things that made you think he was. He didn't do bad but he did nothing out of the ordinary. Louis Partridge as Tewkesbury did the best with what he was given. As I said earlier he wasn't really given much to work with. Overall, the acting was pretty well and was the best part of the film by far.

Enola Holmes is a fun film that had some marvelous acting but the story kept yanking it back from being one of the years better films. I would recommend this film to people who like the franchise or younger girls maybe.

I know you might not know what this film is but Clouds is a 2020 Disney Plus film that came out in October. I found out about it because I got Disney Plus to watch The Mandalorian again. I ended up enjoying this film more than I thought I would.

Clouds is about a boy named Zach Sobiech (Fin Argus) who has cancer and only has a few months to live. Knowing this, he does everything he can with his girlfriend, Amy (Madison Iseman) and his best friend, Sammy (Sabrina Carpenter) to make them feel happy.

Disney Plus has offered a mix of films. They have offered distinguished films like Togo, mediocre films like Lady And The Tramp, and hard to watch films like Noelle. So I didn't really know what to expect from this film. I think Clouds falls into the mediocre category. I was in a good mood after Clouds. That might have not been the films goal because many people have said that they were sobbing like a baby but I wasn't. I am not some machine that doesn't cry for any movie. Believe me, I have, but this film just didn't really feel like a dagger in the heart as it did for many people. I found that to be a problem. It just felt awkward because the film took sort of a crying break after a sad moment but I wasn't really tearing up. The director is Justin Baldoni. He also did Five Feet Apart and that film also had some awkward crying breaks. Besides that though, the story was fine. It wasn't anything special. There were some funny moments but also the dialogue came off really, really basic. There were just many lines that you have heard so many times before. For example they said "I just act that way sometimes." That was a major one that got me furious. There were just so many lines that did that. There was a love story that was going on in the film too. At the start I thought it was going to be like the John Hughes film, Some Kind Of Wonderful but then morphed into something different which was refreshing because of how basic the rest of the plot is.

The acting in the picture was what I expected from a movie like this. The leading actor, Fin Argus, did fine. His performance was nothing Oscar worthy but it was just fine. Neve Campbell playing his mom in the picture and was mediocre in it. Her best performance is still the Scream films. Lil Rel Howrey was also a teacher in this film. He was a fantastic character that did add to the story. I have only seen him playing a comedic character before like in Uncle Drew. In this film he still had the comedic attitude but was also very caring and compassionate to the main character. Sabrina Carpenter played Zach's best friend, Sammy. She has been in a Disney media before. In any of the Disney Plus originals there is always a Disney Channel star unless they moved the film off of their release schedule for theaters. She was okay in the film though. Madison Iseman played Zach's girlfriend. This has been her biggest role yet. She has been in Jumanji but not much besides that. She played her role well but it was nothing special. Overall, the acting was just mediocre.

The score might have been the best thing of the whole picture but it was nothing I would listen to outside of the film. It was mainly piano or a stringed instrument which it typical for a sad film. It did its best to try to add emotion to many scenes in the film but ended up just being the star of the scene because of how sloppy the plot ended up being.

Clouds had potential to be an emotional ride but ended up feeling like a sloppy film that had exceptional acting. I would recommend this film to anybody who has Disney Plus already.

When you think you've seen all of Tom Hanks war films, there is always one more.

Greyhound is about a convoy of ships going across a dangerous part in the Atlantic Sea without any air support. The Captain, Krause (Tom Hanks) is the captain of the main ship Greyhound. This outing is the captains first. They then learn that they are being stalked by a German submarine group named the wolf pack.

Greyhound was a film that got the boot from the studio. It was originally supposed to come out in theaters then got moved over to Apple TV because of the situation that we are in right now. This film was one to see in the theaters though. It was a loud action film that was almost made for the theaters. Tom Hanks even came out in said he was mad about this film going to Apple TV. I think it was a smart move by Apple TV to get this film on their streaming platform because of the names attached to it. This whole thing with this film was just disappointing. The movie was pretty good though. It was as good as my expectations. The story was as good as it could be for a film like this. This movie was only an hour and a half but it never dragged. Greyhound was filled to the brim with intensity from start to finish. That being said there was almost no character development so that caused you to not care for any of the crew members. The only character that did have a little development was Captain Krause who was played by Tom Hanks. He had a little scene at the start that showed he trusts in god and how he got this little ship that you saw once in the movie. He was the only character I really knew the name of. Throughout the movie that captain was shouting peoples names but you never really felt a bond for any of the other characters in the film. Which sometimes caused scenes that were supposed to feel sad to just feel like time being wasted. There was a cook that had some background to but nothing much. Character development was a big missed opportunity in this film. I think if they started the film on land and explained some of the characters background, you would have felt more tension throughout the film.

The acting was something that had to be spot on for this film. They had to look like they have been through years of training and school to get to this point and they did. Tom Hanks especially nailed his role in the film. He really showed how hard it is to command a ship. All of the other crew members also played their parts spectacularly because of how prepared they looked throughout the film. That was something I was worried about and I came out of the film happy about the acting.

The CGI was another I was worried about coming into the film. I thought it was going to somewhere around the line of Midway. That films CGI was terrible and was obvious in many scenes of the movie. Greyhound did a much better job than Midway. Many of the scenes where they had someone standing by a green screen looked incredibly realistic. This sometimes had me questioning weather it was real or not. The only thing I didn't like about the CGI was the computer shots. I have never liked those. A computer shot it when they didn't actually film this scene. They end up doing it with a computer. Those shots always look really glossy. They didn't look terribly bad in this film but they still didn't look good. Otherwise the CGI was flawless. Many of the explosions in the water look fantastic. They really did their research on how they should look.

Greyhound was a film that had some of the best looking CGI in recent years and marvelous acting from everyone in the movie. Although they were lacking characters you really felt like you could relate to. I would recommend Greyhound to anybody who likes war films because you really don't get a lot of war films about naval battle.

On The Rocks is a new movie from Sofia Coppola. She has previously made Lost In Translation. This film isn't on the same level of excellence but it is still of good movie.

On The Rocks is about Laura (Rashida Jones) suspecting that her husband Dean (Marlon Wayans) is cheating on her after he got back from London. She tells her father Felix (Bill Murray) about this and he suggests that they both do a full fledged investigation while Laura doesn't want to make it a big deal.

On The Rocks is a new Apple TV film from Sofia Coppola. I bought Apple TV just to watch this film and I felt like I used my money well. It was a funny and investing film. The story was marvelous. There were many funny bits in this film that got a chuckle. If you are looking for a comedy I wouldn't really say this is one to watch though. The comedy just sort of comes with the package you get with this film. The story is pretty well structured though. You feel for Rashida Jones character, you have a mutual respect for Marlon Wayans character, and you developed a liking for Bill Murray's. There was also a side character played by Jenny Slate. She was pretty funny in this film. She didn't really add much to the story but she was pretty funny. The only thing I didn't like about the story was the start to the film. I thought that it didn't really have the amount of energy that the rest of the film did. It felt out of the place from the rest of the film. Otherwise the story in this film is one the better stories of the year.

The acting is the best part of the film. I wouldn't say the acting carries the film but it does add a lot to the film. Rashida Jones has the best performance. I haven't seen her do much serious roles so that might be why I really liked her performance but she had many emotional scenes that started to make your nose twitch. Bill Murray also played his character well. Although I thought that he was playing his typical character. He always is the guy who is sort of larger than life. He is still good with that type of character but he just plays his typical character. Marlon Wayans is pretty good in the film too. This is the first film that I have seen him in so I don't really have anything to compare his performance to. As I said earlier Jenny Slate was in this film but she didn't really have much screen time. She was sort of there for comedic relief. Jessica Henpeck played the character that was suspected to be the person that Dean was having an affair with. She also didn't have much time on screen. Although she did make you feel hatred for her character. The acting in this film was fantastic though.

The score was something I didn't think I would be saying was that good. You even heard it in the trailer for the film so you should have known what it was going to sound like. Although in the moments of the film, the score added so much needed depth. The score was done by the group Phoenix who also did some music for Lost In Translation. They have also been on Jimmy Kimmel, Jay Leno, Conan and many more talk shows. So they are a band mainly but the score for this film was pretty good. Especially at the end of the film.

On The Rocks was a film that had marvelous acting and the score added to the film in many ways but the start to the movie just didn't feel like the rest of the picture. I would recommend this movie to anybody who has Apple TV and anybody who likes Sofia Coppola movies or the sort sort of comedy/drama movies.

Another movie that is glanced over by many people. This movie defiantly deserves a watch if you are a movie fan.

The First Cow is about a skilled cook named Cookie (John Magaro) who travels with a group of fur trappers. He comes across a Chineses immigrant named King-Lu (Orion Lee) who has nothing so Cookie helps him get to a good place. Many months later they both meet at a bar and decide to start selling baked goods in town with a cow that has just came to the land but the cow is owned by Chief Factor (Toby Jones) and doesn't know about this yet.

The First Cow was a movie that surprised me. I thought it was going to be your typical run of the mill indy movie that wasn't all that impressive. After I pressed the off button on the remote I was quite surprised with what the movie offered. There are many great things in this film. The story was really engaging. It was different than a typical story you find in movies now. The only problem I had with the story is the start to the film. It starts off in present day and then transitions into the time period that the movie is set in. The transition is really good but that scene didn't really need to be there. That was the only problem I had with the movie. The story was really well done. The characters were marvelously written and you felt for all of them. The structor of the story was also different. It did many things you just don't see anymore.

The acting was also fantastic. John Magaro had the best performance in the film. His character was written really well, but without him I bet I wouldn't feel the way I did about the character. Orion Lee's character was more of a comedic guy but it didn't take away from the story. Sometimes in films now, the comedy feels like a kid who makes a joke at a funeral. This movie placed all of the jokes in the right place and none of them felt out of place. Toby Jones was also in this film. He does a lot of main stream movies like Jurassic World The Fallen Kingdom and Captain America The First Avenger but he still makes time for smaller movies like The Snowman and this. He didn't have a whole lot to do in this film but when he was in the film he ate it up. Overall the acting in this film was just magnificent.

The cinematography was enticing to watch. They did a lot of lingering shots in this film. I know it sounds like it might be boring but it never was. Many films do lingering shots like 2001 A Space Odyssey, Unbreakable, and The Visit. Two of those movies were directed by M. Night Shyamalan which with his film, they make the movie even scarier. There were a few suspenseful scenes in the film but nothing on the level of those movies. They used the lingering shot so you could soak up the background. I love when movies do that. It shows how lived in the environment around the characters is. They also added a grainy texture to the picture. At the start they had normal picture but about five minutes in it changed to a more grainy picture. Sort of like what the First Man did. Thats what indicated at the start that this film took place in a different time period.

The First Cow was a film I would recommend to anyone because of the great cinematography and the magnificent acting. The story is also something to take notes on.

The Trial Of The Chicago 7 was a film I wasn't planning on watching. I saw one day it just popped up on Netflix and I thought I had to watch it and I must say it really surprised me.

The Trial Of The Chicago 7 is about a group of seven people who have been charged with starting a riot at the democratic rally in 1968. The seven people Tom Hayden (Eddie Redmayne), Abbie Hoffman (Sacha Baron Cohen), Jerry Rubin (Jeremy Strong), Rennie Davis (Alex Sharp), David Dellinger (John Carroll Lynch), John Froines (Danny Flaherty), and Lee Wiener (Noah Robbins) are put to trial to see if they really did start a riot. There lawyers William Kunstler (Mark Rylance) and Leonard Winglass (Ben Shenkman) are arguing against Richard Shultz (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) and possibly the Judge Julius Hoffman (Frank Langella) as well.

The Trial Of The Chicago 7 is a movie I wasn't planning on watching at all. I new a little about because Joseph Gordon-Levitt was in it and he is one of my favorite actors but bedsides that I didn't know much about the film. I heard this film was getting good reviews from many people and after I saw the film I must agree with those people. This movie did many things really well. First of all, the story and dialogue was obviously going to be really well done. Aaron Sorkin wrote and directed this film. He was written The West Wing, Moneyball, and The Social Network. He has also directed Molly's Game. This was only his second film he directed and it didn't show at all. He looks like a natural. The only problem I had with the writing in this film was Lee Wiener and John Froines were almost non existent in this film. They showed up at the trials and that was it. They didn't really have much dialogue in this film and you couldn't really relate with them as a character. All the other characters were really well written and you almost felt like you knew them.

The acting was one of the best things in the film. All of the guys who played one of the Chicago 7 did amazing. They were spot on. Also the person who did the casting did a fantastic job with getting actors who looked like the characters that they were playing. Yahya Abdul-Mateen ll played the character of Bobby Seale who wasn't one the the seven but was a key part to the story because he was a black man who was accused of homicide in Connecticut and was rumored to have talked with members of the seven. He was brilliantly played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen ll. Mark Rylance and Rob Shenkman were tasked with paying the two lawyers who had to defend the seven. They played their roles marvelously. Joseph Gordon-Levitt as the lawyer trying to put the men away also played his role spectacularly. In my mind, he is one of the best actors out there. He has been pretty good in the last two decades in his films like Inception, 500 Days Of Summer, and I think this should be added to one of his best acted films. He played a very strict lawyer who would do nothing or allow anything that would break the law. He nailed that aspect of the character with a little help from Aaron Sorkin.

Something that I didn't think would be as good as it was is the editing. Specifically the start to film was put together really well and gave you a good idea what has been happing ten years prior to when this film took place. There were also many scenes that would explain the riots that happened in Chicago and they were honestly incredibly intense. They were intense enough to make your palms sweat. If they only focused on the riots and didn't mix in some other things like Abbie's stand-up and the witnesses explaining what was going on, I bet the riot scenes would have been stripped of their intensity. Those scenes were the highlights of the movie for me.

The Trial Of The Chicago 7 was a film that was beautifully edited and the acting was top notch but some of the characters didn't feel like they did much of anything which took away from experience.

Hubie Halloween is a movie that I didn't know was coming at all. It sort of came out of nowhere. I also came into the film expecting something like Murder Mystery or Romeo And Juliet but got something better than what I expected.

Hubie Halloween is about a fifty year old man named Hubie (Adam Sandler) who still lives with his mom (June Squibb). Halloween is rolling around and Hubie loves this holiday so much that he always goes around to many kids reminding them to be safe on Halloween. Hubie falls in love with a girl name Violet Valentine (Julie Bowen) but still gets bullied by his childhood bully, Mr. Landofa (Ray Liotta). He then realizes many people around town are missing and contacts Srgt. Steve Downey (Kevin James) and they go on mission to find out what is happening to all of these people.

Hubie Halloween was a film that relatively surprised me. As I said earlier I came into it thinking it was going to be like Murder Mystery or Romeo And Juliet but came out liking it much more than I thought. By no means is it a perfect film though. The story isn't too investing in this film. It is mainly centered around referencing older Halloween films and many actors that were featured in other Happy Maddison productions. That just isn't the way to structure a story. The film does start off with a mind of its own but then just fluctuates into your typical Adam Sandler cheesy film. Which is what I have came to aspect now when watching a Happy Madison production.

The acting in this film is a little better than your typical Happy Maddison film which I am pleased to say. Adam Sandler delivers an okay performance for his character Hubie. He does add some emotion to the character but then is most of the time taken away by Sandler trying to be funny while looking dumb. That is really what his comedy has turned into. The most resent film that has bits and pieces of his original style is Pixel. There wasn't a whole lot of his original comedy in that film either though. If you don't know what I am talking about I would watch Happy Gilmore and Bill Madison. Those are two films that are historical and Adam Sandler is at the top of his game in both of those. Waterboy though, not so much. I think this film was better than Waterboy but Adam Sandler just wasn't that funny in either of them. I don't really mind his voice in either though. I know many people are tired of his voices and that is a main thing piling onto this films criticism. There is other talent in this film though like Kevin James. He does pretty well. He hasn't been in almost anything since Paul Blart Mall Cop 2. That film just wasn't that good either. Although he showed in this film he can still be funny. Julie Bowen didn't really add much to this movie. She was Adam Sandler's crush and she didn't really feel to well developed or acted. June Squibb was hilarious though. She was the main source of many of my laughs. She took everything that happened to Hubie in such a calm way. She was really the light of the film. Ray Liotta was also in this film. You could really tell he saw the contract and his eyes did the thinking for him. It felt like he didn't put any effort into his acting for this picture. He has been doing a bunch of these types of comedies. A couple of years ago he was even in Wild Hogs. He must be really desperate. There were also other actors in this film from many other Happy Madison movies like Rob Schneider, Steve Buscemi, and Tim Meadows. They all just did fine. Although if they weren't in the movie I bet I would have felt the same way.

Hubie Halloween is a film that turned out better than I thought but still proved Adam Sandler has lost much of his comedy over the years and will never top Happy Gilmore or Billy Madison.

Bill And Ted Face The Music was close to number one spot for my most anticipated movies of the year. I wasn't nerves coming into it but I was a little worried they would jumble up the characters. I must say, after I payed my twenty bucks for this film, I was quite pleased.

Bill And Ted Face The Music is about Bill (Alex Winter) and Ted's (Keanu Reeves) band going completely downhill and they still haven't made the song that will unite the world. Then, Kelly (Kirsten Schaal) comes from the future to bring Bill and Ted to the future to meet the almighty ones. Much to their surprise they go there to get ridiculed because they still need to make the song that will untie the world or else the world will collapse. Bill and Ted go to the future to where they have made the song to get it and go back to play it. While at the same time their daughters, Billie (Bridget Lundy-Paine) and Thea (Samara Weaving) find this out and want to help their dads. They go in the past to gather up many historical figures to help make a band that couldn't possibly sound bad.

Bill And Ted's Excellent Adventure was one of my favorite films from the 80's. It was funny, clever, and also a bunch of fun to watch. If you really look deeper into that film you will find some problems but when ever I watch that picture I just try to enjoy myself. It is the perfect film to do that with. It had a fantastic feel that hasn't really been nailed in any of the sequels yet. Bill And Ted Face The Music is a sequel that does a good job of wrapping up the series, hopefully. I don't think Bill and Ted needs anymore sequels at all. This one did get pretty close to capturing the feel of the original but it didn't exactly hit it's mark. It was still funny but the original easily was more comical. Something that the sequels never did is capture their kid like nature. They would always talk about Disney World, Waterloo, and many more things kids would love to do and talk about. In Face The Music, they just made Bill And Ted dumb. Sure they are in the original but they were only not book smart. This movie made them incredibly dumb it started to get a little annoying. That was sort of disappointing with this film. Bill And Ted's Bogus Journey was also like that. It is pretty disappointing that this film did not feel the same that the first did in that nature.

The acting was as good as the first though. Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter still have most excellent chemistry. The two daughters also were surprisingly fun in this film. I came into this movie thinking they were going to be hard to watch but came out feeling good about the choice of adding their daughters in the picture. Coming into this film I knew it wouldn't be the same without George Carlin. He was a fantastic actor that I knew was going to change the mood of this film because of his absence. The picture defiantly was different because he wasn't in it but it still was a good film without him. William Sadler reprised his role as death. He was the only thing I like from Bogus Journey as did most people. In this movie he still feels the same. They really nailed the character of death in this picture. He gained most of my laughs. Elizabeth (Erin Hayes) and Joanna (Jayma Mays) do have a subplot but it never really needed to be there. That is why I didn't include it in the summary. It just didn't feel necessary to the film. The pair did an okay job. Acting in the whole film was just exceptional besides for Keanu Reeves, Alex Winter, and William Saddler.

Now a big thing many people keep groaning about is the CGI. It wasn't a huge problem for me. The originals didn't have that great of CGI either so coming into this I wasn't expecting it to look like Titanic or Inception. It never really took away from the story for me. It did look really glossy and almost video game like but I was expecting this film not to look like it had a one hundred sixty million dollar budget.

Bill And Ted Face The Music is a film that has a different story from the originals which many films are lacking now but fails to capture the same mood and feel of the original film. Which Bill And Ted's Excellent Adventure still proves to be the superb film.
