Chaos Walking (2021)
Abrupt ending ruined it for me
Really interesting concept. I enjoyed seeing the noise and how it affected relationships between the characters. But this movie seemed to have no real plot other than running. And it ended so abruptly it really left me wanting more. I want to see her people and how they respond to him. I want to know more about why all the women were killed off. I want to see the aftermath with all the men that were chasing them. The movie was too short to accomplish all of this. It spent the whole movie with them running only to be abruptly rescued. It skipped interesting scenes, for the sake of time, or maybe budget? That ruined it for me.
The Voyeurs (2021)
Twisted and exciting
I liked this movie pretty much right away. It doesn't waste time with a bunch of unneeded exposition. They start spying on thier neighbors right away. And you're hooked. I certainly was. It was juicy with the drama and wow the last half hour threw me for a loop. I thought it was messed up and it kept going. It was dark and twisted and amazing. This has to be one of my favorite films I've watched this year. Sydney Sweeny did an amazing job on this film. And the camera man as well, they chose great angles, they really showed how intoxicated and obsessed Pippa was with her neighbors. I felt the tension through my screen.
Halloween Ends (2022)
This movie isn't even about the main characters
Way too much time wasted on this new character Corey. I'm almost 1 hour in and the only murder was accidental and Michael Myers wasn't even involved. I'm bored. Like when is this going to become a Halloween movie and not just a random thrown together series of scenes. Here we are 56 minutes in finally seeing some murder and I am still completely confused by this "plot." Decisions are made out of nowhere. Suddently people like each other. Suddenly Corey is a bad guy? So much focus on bullying. I didn't come here to watch a bullying movie. Not even enough Jamie Lee Curtis either. This was a disappointment.
Hocus Pocus 2 (2022)
Was expecting more
I knew better than to get too excited for this. Making a sequel 30 years later was.... brave. It didn't hit the same. It has that corny acting you expect from modern Disney. The character's felt too much like a gimmick. There was more music numbers which wasn't needed. There were definitely some funny parts, and good one liners. I'll give it that. The nostalgia was exciting at first. But it gets old, after that you want action and it was just more salt foiling them like in the last movie. I would have liked to see more of the new witch fighting back with her powers. That could have taken it to another level.
Jurassic World Dominion (2022)
Slow
The movie is of my to a very slow start. I'm already checking my phone 15 minutes in. Really disappointing. There's too much going on and no real reason to care. It felt like it started in the middle and isn't moving in a straight line at all.
I don't think we're going to be finishing this movie. It keeps having these short scenes and flipping between them to the point you forget what you just watched. I'm not sure why I kept watching after the second movie came out. That one was weird too. I remember being very confused by it and only bothering to watch it once. Nostalgia isn't exciting enough.
The Summer I Turned Pretty (2022)
Written by adults who don't interact with teens
Cliche. Everything seems to be written by adults who have never actually interacted with teens. I couldn't get through the cringe and only watched 15 minutes. From random playfighting to terrible one liners, I just couldn't stand it.
Juno (2007)
Decent movie, awful soundtrack
The music was really annoying and distracted me cause I disliked it so much. Overall the movie was interesting and watchable. But felt a little sped through and times.
Fractured (2019)
Entertaining
Kept my interest. Was very curious to see if he was crazy, hallucinating or if the hospital was up to some sketchy stuff. The hints to the truth were subtle enough to keep me guessing.
Senior Year (2022)
It wasn't awful but I wouldn't watch again
Rebel Wilson didn't feel like the right casting choice for me. And it most moderately entertaining but it didn't wow me. I'm not running out to recommend it to anyone.
Firestarter (2022)
I lost interest
I lost interest after about 30 minutes. It doesn't flow. It skipped so much backstory. They changed too much and moved the story along abruptly. The fire effects were a little cheesy at times.
The Unholy (2021)
Pretty good
Starts a little slow, definitely not boring in the beginning though, just takes awhile to build to the horror element. Really liked the story.
Separation (2021)
Doesn't make sense
You can't tell what's hallucination and what's supernatural, they really don't make that clear. And an evil mom? Seriously? No. A mom wouldn't turn evil like that. Would have made more sense if a demon latched onto the child. Really nonsensical. Would describe it as artsy fartsy- way to much focus on some obscure meaning rather than a plot that made any sense.
The Turning (2020)
Solid beginning and middle
They had me in the first half. Had me until the last few minutes when it divulged into idiocy. The ending was stupid, it didn't wrap anything up and left us feeling cheated. Ruined the whole movie for me.
Us (2019)
Artsy and strange
I had high expectations because "Get Out" was phenomenonal. These expectations were not met. The film was really artsy and kind of dragged on and on when there were multiple stopping points. And then that plot twist made no sense it felt like it created a big plot hole. He was just trying to do too much.
Mary Poppins Returns (2018)
Couldn't sit through it
I was bored by 5 minutes in but kept going since the original was excellent. It stayed boring. The actors were dull. The songs were dull. Emily Blunt seemed like she was doing a terrible imitation the whole movie. I stopped watching shortly after they entered the bowl.
The Babysitter (2017)
Really stupid
This movie was really stupid and not in a good way. It's very corny. The murders and stuff look really fake and over dramatized. Overall just bad.
Truth or Dare (2017)
It wasn't bad but the ending left a bad taste in my mouth
First of all, they did not do things the easy way for themselves. Second, the ending was abysmal. Why would she think crashing into a tree was the solution? Also the movie did a poor job of making me care about the characters. I was mostly just there for the gore. It jumped too quickly into gore and gave no real answers to the questions it brought up. Characters were really flat as well.
The Darkest Minds (2018)
It was okay
The movie was alright. I liked a lot of it. But the change of direction happened way to abruptly. One minute in one direction and immediately in the next with seemingly no transition. And the end was a disaster. It was totally rushed and felt out of place like an after thought. The love story was not great either. One second they have an infatuation and somehow it becomes love with no bonding shown to the audience.
Suicide Squad (2016)
Overhyped mess
This movie had incredible characters but went nowhere. The plot was a mess and seemed scrambled together. I quickly lost interest as the characters personalities became the only interesting thing. Really good soundtrack though.
