Keh Doon Tumhein (2023)
I started watching because of the promos and am continuing because of Mudit's performance!
From the first episode itself, Mudit has proven that he was perfectly casted for the role of Vikrant aka "Sarkar." The dialogue delivery and small nuances in expression and body language are fantastic! Sarkar's unintentional situational comedy is hilarious. His portrayal of this character is definitely the highlight of this show! Watch it for him! This is my first time seeing his work and I now definitely plan on watching his previous work too!
The show has been shot at real locations which is so refreshing after seeing tv shows filled with sets and cgi backgrounds. The styling is great and realistic. Mudit and Yukti's chemistry is amazing even though they've only had a small number of scenes together so far. It makes you excited to see how it will develop as the story progresses. It's a new story on itv that definitely should be supported as such stories rarely come across our screens. The actor for Bittu also deserves a shoutout as he's doing such a great job!
The only issues I have are that some scenes seem to have forced comedy that seems a bit too childish for the adult target audience. Yukti has been doing a great job with what she's been given but Kirti's character lacks substance. The audience connect with the serial killer is much greater than it is with the good girl character. We know Kirti wants to find her best friends murderer but we have absolutely no connection to their friendship. In one scene she'd be shown crying for her friend and in the next scene she'd be making jokes with her family. Hoping that her character is intentionally being kept mysterious or shall be given more substance in future writing, I'm only taking off one star from the rating.
Despite the few flaws, this show is fantastic and a great watch that I strongly recommend! Please do watch this one!
Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai (2011)
The absolute best comfort show
Some people have only given the show a 1 star rating because they can't find the episodes. An absolutely illogical rating.
This is a show all about family and love. It gives so many good vibes. The chemistry between the leads is amazing and the casting is just as prefect as it could be. Kushal and Nia definitely overshadow the other pair, though.
The relationship between these 4 characters is it's highlight. Sisterhood, brotherhood, the pure relationship between jija-saali and bhabhi-devar. It's all so pretty. Yes it is an Indian soap opera yet it just cannot be missed.
There is definitely a reason why these 4 actors have become so successful in today's time. It will always be one of my biggest guilty pleasures.
The Little Mermaid (2023)
Just another one of Disney's remakes
The idea of the film was great but the execution seemed to miss the mark. The film was way too long. The children next to me were asking their mothers if they could leave early halfway through the film. It easily could've been made shorter. The acting of everyone in the film was just alright but the singing was great. I felt a disconnect from Ariel once she lost her voice, it seemed like Eric was more of the main character than her from the way the focus shifted to him. From the way this film was hyped all over social media, it really didn't seem that great. It was average at most. You get exactly what you'd expect from a live action remake. The only plus point would be the songs and a cast filled with diversity.
Faltu (2022)
A very average show which could've been a 10
A girl wants to be a cricketer to prove that daughters are just as important as sons. A guy who had to abandon his dream of becoming a cricketer because of family pressure helps her out. It was the perfect recipe for a delicious dish, unfortunately, the dish is half baked with many unwanted ingredients. Why did the guy have to end up getting married to another girl? Why was a "he put sindoor in the main leads head before his wife's head" plot added in? Why did it take 100+ episodes for this track to end? Why is the mother of his wife the head of the cricket academy that Faltu has enrolled into and why is she also the woman has the power to make and break his fathers business? Is this show about cricket or about a man ditching his wife for another girl and then having to face his ex mother in law and ex wife's dumb schemes to separate him from Faltu and her dream? ITV failed yet again at a concept which could've been amazingly carried. Only two actors stand out: Rajat Verma and Aakash Ahuja, everyone else is either below average or just not important. The show really isn't worth watching as of now.
Katha Ankahee (2022)
Something completely new to Indian television
Over the years, Indian television has become nothing more than a mindless money generating business where creativity and storytelling have been pushed back.
This show comes like a breath of fresh air. The actors are so talented that even when they do not have any dialogues, they continue to emote the characters feeling through their eyes. It's rare to see such well rounded actors share the screen on itv. Aditi's portrayal of the plight of a single mother is inspiring and heartwarming. Adnan does a fantastic job at making the viewers understand each and every layer of guilt and pain in Viaan. While the chemistry between Aditi and Adnan is the cherry on the cake, the supporting cast leaves no stone unturned in making a mark. Azinkhya is fantastic as a child actor.
The musical score is fresh and soft, not overbearing like in typical Indian serials. The pacing is not too slow and not too fast. Every aspect of the story gets a balanced amount of screen time. There are no flashy and overt reactions displayed whatsoever. Everything is natural and flows beautifully.
If you are still deciding whether or not to give this show a chance, please go watch it right now. You'll definitely love it. Such shows deserve much more support in India and I'd love to see this show reach greater heights.
Puncch Beat (2018)
A bad Warrior High rip off
Instead of making this trash you guys should've just finished warrior high. It clearly steals themes from Warrior High.
The whole secret brothers drama? Utkarsh and Sid much? How abt the interests? Boxing and dancing.... does that not sound like Sid and Siyali to u? Don't get me started on the acting here and the cgi is terrible enough. The only reason why I'm giving a 6 instead of a 1 is because of my respect to all the hardwork that went into making this show and some actors weren't that bad.
Instead of wasting time on making new and useless shows, try finishing the show that u left on a cliff hanger with a fictitious promise of a season two back in 2015.
