Die Hard (1988)
A really good time
I'm an indie movie kind of girl. You have to catch me in a good mood to be willing to watch something that's called "Die Hard". I'm glad my boyfriend did, because this was so fun. I dunno if I liked it because it was good or if it was because my man and I had so much fun watching it together. #Dolph #Carl #Perm
Disney's Newsies: The Broadway Musical (2017)
YAAAAS
It's so much better on stage than in the original movie. My cousins will probably never speak to me again. ¯\_()_/¯
Game of Thrones: The Rains of Castamere (2013)
Years later, it still makes me sad
I just stumbled upon the "Inside the Episode" segment for this episode on youtube and man, I'd forgotten how crushing this whole thing was. You could tell that the show runners were conflicted by how important and shocking the Red Wedding was as a scene and how sad it was to be losing such central figures to their show. Seeing David Benioff be as sad as he was in that interview took me right back to watching this for the first time years ago. I remember being in a state of shock once the credits started rolling, hopping in the shower a few minutes later, and not realizing I was crying until that moment.
Robb was the character I had the biggest crush on, and Catelyn was my favorite character altogether, and watching them die so horribly was devastating in that moment.
Honestly, how can anyone not love this show?
Requiem for a Dream (2000)
Great movie, never watching it ever again
I honestly don't think I could stomach it. It was a great movie, so interesting and tragic, but that montage at the end . . . I mean I started having a real, serious panic attack.
Goodfellas (1990)
Scorsese's Masterpiece
This is probably one of the few perfect movies I've ever seen. My boyfriend isn't as much of a fan since he thinks it's too long, but I don't think this story would work if narrative corners were cut to save time. Every little detail matters in this film, and I can't think of a scene in the film that didn't propel the narrative forward. It's not long for the sake of being long, it's long because it's the only way this movie could have worked.
The whole cast is amazing in this, but I really want to shoutout Martin Scorsese because this is possibly his magnum opus and it deserved more appreciation at award season than it was given. There won't ever be another director like him, he's simply the best.
