It didn't develop into anything, and it's not comedy at all
7 April 2023
To me this is one of those shows where the producers and directors and writers think their inside jokes have a broad appeal, but it's probably just funny to them, if an aging, unhealthy woman exhibits clumsy body "humour" and being extra disgusting. I finished the show and didn't smile once. It's not funny. You're not taken on a journey as a viewer. There are no peaks nor valleys in storytelling and it was a bit of a waste of time to me. I was hoping for someone taking the steering wheel and turn this somewhat around, but it won't happen. It's forced, unrelaxed and just doesn't have any jokes.

Terrible acting paired with unlogical reactions to many situations
14 September 2021
Total waste of time. The overacting coupled with irrational reactions between the characters make the story unfold very long-winded and extremely boring. It's irritating to watch. You constantly go "Come on, don't run away mid conversation, talk to this person". The characters act like they have been constipated for a week. It's so painful and not captivating at all. Please don't waste your time.

Nothing since 2017 for THIS?!?

Warning: Spoilers
Many reviews say this should be a spin off of the original show. I disagree. This failed attempt to be deep and artistic does nothing for the original show, but killing something good. The Thanksgiving episode in the past was so well executed. We could have been done with Denise's character arch right there, not create some bad and boring drama tarnishing and probably destroying the original show. I'm in episode 3 of this this season now and I will stop watching when I submit this review. In this pandemic it could have been such a great opportunity to bring the characters back and bring some joy to all the people stuck at home. Instead the opposite was missed. Rebranding failure! Good bye to an originally great show.

Can't compare with the German or UK episodes
5 December 2019
If the show gets renewed, please replace Spain with any other country on this planet. This was such a let down after two very strong installments from Germany and also the UK. The Spanish one was just not good at all.

By far the best of the multiple nation franchise

This was great to watch! Keep this for later, if your intend to watch the other countries. If you start with it, you'd probably get frustrated over the French and especially the Spanish installment. UK was good too.

If you hated The OA, you'll HATE this show
26 November 2019
The only reason this show gets more than one star is for Uma's amazing acting and great make up and overall looks in this show.

The remaining cast really needs no get some quality acting coach or spend some cash on acting classes! The main character girl was extremely tough to watch and at times highly aggravating and painful to endure. If the script suggests, the character comes from a poor background, that doesn't mean poor acting.

The story feels very forced and long winded up until they wrap up the season, by going in all sorts of messy directions for potential plot development. This gave the feeling of really desperately wanted to push for a chance for a second season. But why?

If you squint really hard, it might look like an idea with some potential; however, what they executed and where they went with it left me pretty disappointed.

Personally I wouldn't recommend this show, even if you've watched everything to watch on Netflix, are sick at home alone, and have nothing else to do. It's still a firm no. If you are a human being with the slightest of depths, don't watch this show. If you love Uma, still don't watch this! I wanted my time spent on this back, just like when I watched season 1 of The OA, similarly slow and too many loose, non capturing ends. Boo to this show and the poor acting from everyone except Uma.

So real!

Most honest and beautiful way to go through grief. Very relatable and a must-binge-watch for anyone who's lost anything as little as their keys, or the love of their lives.
