Terminator caricature!
Poor sense of humor incorporated with poor script, dialogs and worst of all the graphics! The movie seems to be a copy of Terminator in some ways, at least some parts of the story. Bollywood doesn't seem to learn how to make an original sc-fi movie. The good part was the character played by Armaan Verma who I seem played the character quite well keeping the fact in mind that this was his debut movie. Other characters were so predictable and the later half of the movie hardly had any action scenes except for the fact that Mr.Khan kept bouncing around. The 3D effects of the movie were hardly engaging. I forgot at a point of time that I was actually watching a 3D movie. There were a lot of flaws in the overall production starting from the story to the unnecessary humor injected at certain portions of the movie. The very first scene starring Sanjay Dutt and Priyanka Chopra was a complete turn-off. The worst part were some vulgar, obscene scenes which the filmmakers found very hilarious. Kareena's inventing vulgarisms was not amusing at all and our child-actors use of the word "FISH" in place of the F word on several occasions hardly made us laugh about it. Overall there were serious problems with this movie! Still waiting for a good Bollywood Sci-Fi flick!
Ghajini (2008)
Worst Aamir movie ever
I am so disappointed by this movie. I was so enthusiastic to watch this movie but to my dismay it turned out to be a B grade Hindi Movie. I was surprised and am still not able to realize how Aamir could do such kind of a movie. He is known for his dynamism and his choice in doing films that reflect his intellect. Unfortunately it looked like another Sunny Deol Movie. If the movie has been inspired from the Hollywood movie Memento then I think Aamir and the Director of the movie have literally satirized the whole concept. Some scenes are really funny and fail to deliver the seriousness. There was no thrill and absolutely no suspense. Even the love story between Asin and Aamir felt incomplete and one sided. The movie was a disaster.
Omkara (2006)
V for Vishal Bhardwaj
Omkara, truly a masterpiece.Vishal Bhardwaj the master. I waited in a long queue,to my surprise,to watch this movie today. Was it Vishal Bhardwaj or the charismatic charms of Ajay Devgan,Saif Ali Khan,Viviek Oberoi,Konkana Sen Gupta and Kareena Kapoor? Well it was Vishal Bhardwaj for me.I had eagerly waited for another piece of art from Vishal after his critically acclaimed movie "Maqbool".The wait was worthwhile.
Surprise!! Surprise!! Surprise!!.Saif Ali Khan! This performance is undoubtedly his best performance so far. After watching that college guy singing 'Ole' 'Ole' for Kajol and the spoiled brat in Dil Chahta Hai,this performance certainly comes as a surprise. You would just love the way he plays his role of 'Langda Tyagi'.Vishal has beautifully crafted his character to play Lago from Shakespeare's Othello. It is Vishal's confidence that he had given the most important role of 'Lago' to Saif Ali Khan and he has certainly done full justice to the character. Ajay Devgan is at his best.Perfectly played the role of a head honcho,Omkara, who loves Dolly played by Kareena. What makes this movie a masterpiece is not only the performances of these most talented actors,it is Vishal Bhardwaj's awesome script, screenplay, dialogs, music and of course the direction. This movie is so close to reality, that when you walk out of the cinema hall admiring it you start believing these characters are played by someone somewhere in our lives too.And that is the kind of affect left by a Vishal Bhardwaj's movie. Truly awesome!!
15 Park Avenue (2005)
exquisite!!
exquisite!! in simple words... both Aparna Sen and Konkona Sen seem to understand each other quite well or maybe they both are just too good.this might just be her best performance as an actor and Aparna's best as a director. yeah maybe better than Mr and Mrs Iyer. Konkona plays the role of a schizophrenic. Shabana Azmi plays the role of Anjali,Mithi's(Konkona Sen's) elder sister. Shabana Azmi made the best out of Anjali's character for she had to play a strong, responsible, arrogant role of an elder sister who had the full responsibility of her family. Aparna Sen has beautifully crafted Anjali's character,a strong woman who had to sacrifice her personal life, her love for her family.
Mithi's behavior was'not juvenile at all,for you can expect this from most of Indian directors for this role.looks like a lot of research has been done to understand the role of Mithi,a schizophrenic. When at times Mithi is a normal, sweet college going girl, she also scares you when she is shown ill..both the sides have been beautifully judged and played..believe me it at times reminds you of the girl in Exorcist..not that scary though.. Overall..Marvellous piece of work by Aparna Sen,Konkona Sen and Shabana Azmi...
