The Rezort (2015)

Don't overthink it, it's not supposed to be watertight.

I spend a lot of my movie watching life pointing out bad casting, silly scenarios etc. But for this one I decided to take it for what it was. The idea a dead person can come back to life is ridiculous anyway.... I could pick holes in it's casting and character believability and some things in the said scenario were quite silly, but hey it's a zombie movie.

The attention to detail wasn't bad either if you like that sort of thing. This was fun and considering the genre, very good. Definitely an 8/10 for what it was.

If you don't believe in God, you're obviously not going to like it.....

As a one time agnostic I wouldn't have got this film at all. Not anymore, now I do believe and I do get it, It's powerful and doesn't pull it's punches.

Very Good

Many people believe in divine intervention, and It's a story about just that, adapted from the classic Shane, reworked and brilliant in it's narrative. Clint is magnificent in his grizzled hard character, that if pushed will meet force with force. Chris Penn is great as the son of the evil overlord, who runs the town and want's the poor folks land and claims to property, which is justly theirs. It's not soppy or sugary, quite harsh like the landscape it's located in. The subplots of characters relationships is handled well. It show's that the righteous are also flawed. When I was a teenager, many moons ago, I wasn't impressed, didn't get it at all, but hoots to that, I like it very much now time has passed.

It would be better if we all lived perfect lives in a bubble...

And didn't know about the injustice and cruelty in the world and needed a wake up call, but we all do, so it was gritty but ultimately just depressing reflection of how awful life can be.

This is only a point about the subject matter, what a nice spin to put on a character who if we suppose could be based on a real devil that is a Biblical one, who along with his minions are responsible for every rape and murder in the world as we know it. From Hitler to any serial killer or deeply wrong person walking the earth. It makes it hard to enjoy this tripe. Why bother to make it if you consider the topic to be farcical?

Spoilers alert? You must be joking...

Warning: Spoilers
Not so great, it was as good as the original is bad so that is some indication of how far the franchise has fallen. Obviously nobody cared anymore they just sat down and wrote the first awful idea that popped into their heads, and boy did it show. Jaws basically had super powers, it somehow managed to track the Brody's from the east coast of the USA to the Bahamas at super speed something a shark is not inclined to do. Jaws may as well have flown with it's gills. Sharks aren't well known as having vendettas but hey this is Jaws. Jaw's dies roaring like a lion, really? I think it was a joke between writers who could come up with the most ludicrous plot and someone managed too and somehow it was produced and released although the budget looked like it all went on Caine's fee. It's basically only worth watching if you have just had a lobotomy (No longer happens). A moments silence for the passing of a horrific blight on cellulite. I'm going to put 'spoilers' but how on earth could anyone spoil this?

Fun ride
17 October 2020
I've seen the reviews, most people seem to have been expecting a Scorsese like masterpiece. Films about flaming skeleton bike riders are enevitably going to be a bit silly, but it was only ever intended to be fun and it was.

Much much better than I expected.

No preaching and not a dull drama it wasn't heavy at all but light and kind and playful and really funny in parts, one overlay song included which didn't fit at all, but that didn't spoil my overall enjoyment, I don't know who tagged that in but someone needs to be pulled up on it, childish. I guess the message is about being selfish or choosing to help others. I liked it.

Wow!

I thought it might be a bit dull cliched and preachy, wrong on all counts. Excellent performances drove this film, the script was tight gritty and packed a punch. A story of redemption is not welcome from all quarters, but as something like this has happened to me I did love it. Praise the Lord.

Not great
6 October 2020
I am baffled anyone thinks this is a good film, in my opinion no. The characters lack any personality, lewis is good but that's about it. It dragged along and I couldn't finish watching it, it was too stupid. Nothing about it stood out other than it's awfulness. The plot sucked too. I was thinking to myself this is a comedy right? Bad, no real laughs stupid scenario and generally bad comic acting. I hate to slate a film but this really does deserve it. I'd give it a 3 as it was better than Battlefield Earth which I gave a 1.

Superb

I was genuinely surprised by how good this film was. The action had a kick and plot simple but not simplistic and the script was tight . As a revenge piece it was fantastic. I found myself really rooting for Jacky. Both leads were brilliantly good. 10/10

A little bit boring...
11 January 2019
I've noticed that most 'art' in it's many forms, labelled as a masterpiece by some of my fellow human being's are just dull and pretentious. I see that this film fit's the bill. The plot is fairly straightforward and initially quite interesting, then... *nods* It was so slow. Everyone's already banged on about the plot enough. As details interest me, how did the floating squid build their spaceship? They've done well without having opposable thumbs.

Laugh out loud.
19 December 2018
It's been quite a while that I've found a series that is consistently funny. Kind of a Black Adder Red Dwarf ensemble and according to other posters, other stuff I haven't seen. It's fantastic. Obviously not everybody's cup of tea but it's subjective of course, however between you and me they are objectively wrong ;)

Edit: I don't think some people are giving this show a chance. They switch off after 5 mins or something.
