The Midnight Club (2022)
This is why you should have your own mind
Unfortunately i often make the mistake of not watching something based on imdb stars. I am glaf I didn't follow that rule this time. The show is very well written, very interesting and very entertaining. Some arr angry cause is not horror as advertise, I find that quite superficial. Yes it is not that horrific, but it has some good scary moments and some good jump scares, if that is your thing.
Leaving that a side, it is a very engaging
(part series part anthology) show. And i liked that so much.
The actors are doing really good, cinematography is not it's highest quality. But I was just a huge fan of the writing. Recommend.
Paranormal (2020)
Every thing is wrong, Like a Gorilla in the Desert wrong!
Before you watch: This is not an adaptation of the books. This is just loosely and poorly based on the books!
I never knew that a book adaptation has to mean that you only take the names of the characters and do every single thing else your way. That is the case here... They got the names of the characters right, and that is about it!
It is a slow show... Extremely poor stories and very anticlimactic conclusions.
They turned the main Character from the sarcastic yet lovable character to an irresponsible, weak and for some reason always has a sad face person. Add to this the very lazy writing and the very cheap visual effects and you get this series. Calling this Mediocre is a nice compliment.
The one star I gave it is for the good color correction. I really tried hard to find a positive point.
Baad el mawkeaa (2012)
Man .. that sucked!
A poorly made C-movies for tourists who heed a crash course about the Egyptian revolution, and have no time to look it up in youtube.
The film is too long and all that it offers is several mainstream superficial pop-politics, for people who have absolutely no idea about what happens anywhere else rather than where they live.
It's just another try of selling the revolution and make money out of it, without even trying to make an OK movie while doing that.
Any armature filmmaker or even someone with a mobile phone camera could with some effort do something quite better than that. I just felt insulted.
The Men Who Stare at Goats (2009)
That was a really good lesson, not to judge from the trailer !
Have you seen the trailer? Did you enjoy it? than don't spoil it by watching the movie! I am giving the movie four stars because it was hard for me to give it one, or even non, while it has a really good group of actors who really know what they are doing, and able to give their best, no matter how bad or empty the script is.
I was really disappointed. I could hardly finish the movie hoping that may be at the end, I would understand something that I've might missed, which made me totally disconnected from the bizarre,(should be funny) events of the movie. but that has not happened.
really save your money or go watch a cheap comedy with a couple of C class crew that's won't cheat you, and will just give you what they promise in the trailer, not more, not less.
