The graphics and atmosphere is awesome. It's almost a perfect hit with the storyline for the 5 or 6 first episodes. Then it goes downhill and the plot starts to concentrate around two characters only while the scenario could have been way more profound and complexe.
I do loved the cyberpunk style (boobs, sex, blood and depravation in a gore futuristic and unjust chaos). I also loved Poe, an AI that loves human psyche and try to understand it. This character was brilliantly acted by Chris Comner. He was probably the best actor (Not that hard, sure but still). I loved the combat choreography. The concept of "construct" and how they use it is also absolutely genius, I think it is one of the most accurate way human (sick) mind could invent to torture someone. And finally, with an unsuspected pleasure, a short piano song by Eric Satie called "Gnossienne n°1" was choosed for a scene that was perfectly fitting (Miriam and Kovacs conversation) so does the scoring overall.
What I do not loved is this stupid jealousy from Rei, it's ashamed that they made revolve the entire plot around a simple (a bit crazy) overattached sister. I was really disappointed since I thought the show would go towards a more critical view of "stacks" that brings this "immortality madness" to the richest, people who considered themselves as Gods. It brings a subject about religious beliefs and how humans that are now immortal replaced Gods that are not "real" at least in this world (Mr. Leung talking about the "Meths" and how they replaced older religions because they can "answer prayers"). It felt like a let down honestly. I also did not love the acting, it was really bad a some points. Like really really bad. The two main characters were maybe the worst (especially Ortega). At the beginning it's ok but the more we get closer to the end the more it gets annoying. Lots of scenes were overacted and thus lost credibility. That's a bummer cause with a better acting the lack of creativity and bad storytelling at the end would have been easier to put aside.
If I understood well the next season will be about Kovacs looking for Quell. I'll totally watch hoping that they will make a better scenario out of this and that the next cast will provide a better acting. The advantage with this "sleeves" concept is that they can switch actors as they please.
