Decent dark comedy starring Murray and Dreyfuss
13 August 2019
A nice little black comedy starring Richard Dreyfuss and Bill Murray, this movie is one of those in danger of being completely forgotten in the avalanche of new technology. This is comedy old style when a thespian's skills dictated the laughs. With the many one-liners and the excellent acting throughout this movie will have you laughing many times. For those of you who don't like the actors or a particular actor your missing a masterpiece. Bill Murray and Richard Dreyfus made an odd but masterful team and the supporting staff like Julie Hagerty, Charlie Korsmo, & Kathryn Erbe, blend in well. Marcella Lowery & Lori Tinn Chen provide great albeit brief bits as well. The writing, the directing, the acting were A+. If you never see this movie you will have missed out on something. Fans of both Dreyfuss and Murray rejoice as they make a fantastic team and are in pretty much each and every scene.

Primeval (2007–2011)
Okay execution unbelievable fact which formed the basis of this film.
25 November 2018
I saw this film in 2008 and it was a bit weird to say the least. Without expecting anything this is what I made of it: Primeval is about a giant monstrous crocodile terrorizing a village and believe it or not it is a true story. There actually exists a beast of this sort and even has a name- Gustave, which makes the thoughts even more harrowing. Anyway, the film is alright- I barely have any recollections but it is a decently made B movie. The shots with the croc were quite good. I am going with a 4 stars but I feel just because of the rarity of the subject you should give this one a shot.

The Pickle (1993)
Great early 90s comedy-satire.
22 October 2018
Harry Stone (Danny Aiello) is a well-known director who has built his reputation on doing films of depth and biting satire. When he finds himself in a financial bind, however, the lure of a big check seduces him into compromising his artistic values and directing a script that no self-respecting professional would associate his name with. The Pickle (the movie- within-the-movie) is a terrible story about a giant cucumber that's actually a space ship. As the film's premiere approaches, Harry goes through twenty-four hours of intense anxiety. Paul Mazursky's The Pickle is in the tradition of The Big Picture and The Player, and, like those films, elements of this quirky, satirical farce are not ideal for general consumption. However, for those who like to laugh, The Pickle offers plenty of opportunities.

Rocky (1976)
Rocky is one of the most inspirational films out there.
23 July 2018
Rocky shot a then struggling actor and writer Sylvester Stallone into the A list. This is a great underdog story enhanced by some gritty direction and great performances by Stallone, Talia Shire and others. What many do not realize is how little Rocky is about boxing. In fact the boxing doesn't even take center stage until well into the second half. This is a character study first and foremost and Stallone should be commended for penning such a heartfelt screenplay. Rocky has entered pop culture lexicon but its important to remember that it started off as an independent feature with a minuscule budget. This is a great start to the career of a fantastic actor.
