Should have known when Rotten Tomatoes had this at 100%...

Garbage. Hot garbage. Not even first year film student bad; more like a 1st grader directed this bad. Such a shame after the first two.

Passing grade until the end

Entertaining enough. Nothing spectacular but watchable if you have some time to kill or if you're hopped up on Ritalin and your concentration is on point. No budget, so the cinematography and acting are what they are... not really fair to knock those aspects. Somewhat lazy story and even lazier ending.

Utter Garbage
7 August 2019
The cheap, cheesy gore for gore's sake is one thing. Accompanied by a dreadful, unrealistic story with mostly terrible acting and you have 90 minutes of hell. While Cannibal Holocaust was never a masterpiece, it certainly had at least SOME redeeming qualities and passable acting. This cheap imitation had nothing of the sort. I've never been sold on Eli Roth... and this film that brazenly bares his name before it's title just confirmed my suspicions.

Lacking Leadership
2 August 2019
Interesting enough story with grand ideas, but seemed to lack a strong enough director to bring those ideas to their full potential. Even with a lower budget and the visual shortcomings that come with it, it felt as if a high school film student was directing this film due to the poor production decisions that dominated throughout. Not a bad way to spend 90 minutes, but a disappointing example of wasted potential.

Polarizing
10 March 2019
If you love Michael Jackson, you'll dismiss this film as nonsense and if you you were in the "Wacko Jacko" camp, you'll believe every word of it. As someone who was actually molested as a child, I will say that the film is very well organized- as are both Wade and James' stories. I felt what most people felt- the overwhelming feeling that at the very least, something was VERY wrong at Neverland but it is unclear whether that something was a pedophile or a perpetual man-child that had no understanding of appropriate child/adult boundaries. The film certainly causes the viewer to deeply ponder this. In terms of the two supposed victims that star in this feature, I must be honest, I thought they were both full of it then, and my opinion was not changed one bit by watching the film. As I said before, the film does a fine job in at least causing the viewer to ponder what type of man Michael Jackson actually was. This alone makes the film interesting. The presence of two attention seekers just serves to cheapen it.

Interesting, disturbing and frustrating

Disturbing subject matter, disturbed family. The film certainly keeps one's attention, but is reduced by a rather slanted narrative being woven by the filmmaker. Facts that indicate one thing are glossed over while facts that indicate another are harped on repeatedly. All in all, a compelling non fiction film is dampened by filmmaker bias.

Disappointing

This is a perfect example of an unwarranted sequel leaving behind a bitter taste in one's mouth. The first Hell House wasn't exactly original: there are hundreds of found footage, paranormal films on the market. What separated it was the execution, the build, the unsettling creepiness and the intense, abrupt ending. The feel of the sequel is filmmaker's going to the well again hoping for a cash cow, but not having enough content to fill time, so they insert needles explanatory angles that ruin the mystique of the first film. Not a terrible film, mind you. Just don't go into watching Hell House LLC 2 with an expectation of it being comparable to the first.

Warning: Spoilers
Nearly unbearable "protagonists" matched with a never-even-fired-a-weapon-before punk rockers going to war with a legion of armed Neo Nazis= ridiculous.

Fake Reviews Aside...

Important subject matter, executed horribly on every level. Bad acting can be forgiven in a low budget feature if the writing picks up the slack. If both the acting and the writing are dreadful however, you get...this. It would be nice to see this project in the hands of a more capable writer and director because the subject matter is important and should be explored.

More of the same

Another gay film that skimps on a story of substance and opts instead to travel the stereotypical route of victimhood; making me think that I was watching a 1956 film about homophobia in Saudi Arabia and not a 2017 film shot in France where gay marriage has been legal since 2013. There are definitely LGBTQ films with much more depth, creativity and emotion than this one that deserve more attention.
