Argylle (2024)
An absolute mockery of Spy movies in 2024
I managed to watch about 10 minutes of it and that was more than enough for me. The actors are nice and I appreciate them all, but the script is horrible. On top of that, there are just so many mistakes in the production, that is surreal to see that someone can actually appreciate such a movie. Let me give an example: when dua lipa was shooting at agent argylle and he was standing behind the car's door; she could have eliminated him instantly because the car was small and he was uncovered from the waist up... but she kept shooting above his waist which is just ridiculous. And another example, when agent argylle is surrounded in the building, nobody starts shooting until all the fog comes down... which again is ridiculous. I CANNOT recommend watching this movie in 2024, sorry.
The Beekeeper (2024)
Let there be light
This movie, 'The Beekeeper,' is precisely the kind of film the world desperately needs at this moment. In an age where scamming has become an unfortunate part of our daily lives, happening every day, every hour, every minute, this movie shines a much-needed spotlight on these deceitful practices. Its impactful narrative and compelling storytelling have the power to open eyes and potentially bring about a significant change. Hopefully, it will make more people aware, leading to these scammers finally going out of business. 'The Beekeeper' isn't just a film; it's a masterpiece that blends entertainment with a powerful message, a cinematic gem that could play a crucial role in changing societal perspectives and practices. A must-watch for anyone who believes in the power of cinema to inspire and effect real-world change.
Ted (2024)
WE NEEDED THIS
I've been eagerly anticipating anything related to Ted for quite some time, and finally, it's here. The world truly needed this. It's not just a show; it's a breath of fresh air, a beacon of hope in a world that often seems to lack it. The characters are rich and full of depth, each episode unfolds like a well-crafted story, leaving you wanting more. It's not just entertainment; it's an experience that stays with you long after the credits roll. The humor, the warmth, the life lessons - it's all there, beautifully interwoven. I am fervently hoping for many more seasons to come. This isn't just a show; it's a phenomenon that deserves to be cherished and celebrated.
Star Trek: Picard (2020)
A Disappointing Finale for a Lifelong Star Trek Fan
As a lifelong fan of Star Trek, I have been enthralled by the adventures of Starfleet and its iconic characters for as long as I can remember. I have seen all the series, all the movies, and have always looked forward to each new installment with great anticipation. So it was with a heavy heart that I watched the final season of Star Trek: Picard, which not only failed to live up to my expectations but felt like a complete mockery towards its viewers.
The series began with such promise, bringing back the beloved Jean-Luc Picard and taking him on a new journey filled with mystery, intrigue, and the exploration of deep philosophical themes. However, as the season progressed, it became evident that the writing was losing its way, culminating in a finale that left me dumbfounded and deeply disappointed.
The entire season built up the formidable threat of the Borg, an enemy that has terrified Star Trek fans for decades. Yet, when the time came for the climactic showdown, the battle against the Borg Queen was shockingly brief. In a mere two minutes, our heroes defeated the most powerful enemy they have ever faced, which felt like a slap in the face to viewers who had invested so much time and emotion in the series.
Adding insult to injury, the resolution of the conflict was riddled with glaring inconsistencies and oversimplifications. Jack's sudden and inexplicable ability to strip off his Borg assimilation tech, along with the rapid recovery of all the young assimilated characters, stretched the limits of believability and left a bitter taste in my mouth.
The final episode of Star Trek: Picard was nothing short of a joke. As a die-hard fan, I cannot help but feel betrayed by the way the series ended. Instead of honoring the legacy of Star Trek, the creators seemed to have thrown it all away in a poorly executed finale that left me, and many others, utterly disheartened.
In conclusion, Star Trek: Picard's last season was a massive letdown for this lifelong fan. The haphazard writing and the disappointing finale did a disservice to the rich history of the Star Trek universe and its loyal fanbase. One can only hope that future installments in the franchise will learn from these mistakes and return to the compelling storytelling and nuanced exploration of moral and ethical dilemmas that made Star Trek such an enduring and beloved phenomenon in the first place.
The Matrix Resurrections (2021)
The franchise ended with Revolutions
I could not watch this edition of The Matrix more than 30 minutes. It's an absolute mockery of the the original franchise and the only reason I gave 3 starts is because of the quality of the filming/effects.
Long story short, there is no continuation/explanation what happened in Revolutions (Trinity died, Neo got blinded...etc), the story has no essence or relation of the original franchise, the actors are just not fit for their roles, the script contains lines where they talk about "the matrix, marketing, warner bros" and so on; how could that even be included in The Matrix?
What makes this even worse is that they tried to replace Morpheus with this new character that "emerged" from an agent?!... tried to replace Trinity... the "bunny rabbit" tattooed girl... and so on.
And last but not least... why does Neo look like John Wick!?
Really disappointed, this should have never been made. Compared to what they created 20 years ago in terms of storyline, effects, actors... this is mockery.
This is never, ever, going to "reload" the original franchise.
A Quiet Place Part II (2020)
Not worth watching, or even starting to watch
Another great example of 2020/2021 movies are made. There is so much to say about what went wrong with this movie that it's just not worth it.
The Tomorrow War (2021)
We needed this in 2021
What a great movie. Good concept, good effects, good acting... well there were a couple of ups and downs, but come on... compared to what has been appearing during 2019 until now this is epic. I strongly hope Amazon delivers more movies like this.
