The Movies (2005)
a let down
the major problem with this game is that it's not the great movie making game that it claims to be. the main goal is to become the richest studio in the world.
if you are an artistic film maker with a vision, this game is not for you're movie creating abilities. rather, you financial abillities. sure you can edit movie that already have scripts, but you can never create your own story.
you can however make a short with some movement, and sounds and dialoge, but if your thinking that you can make really cool, profound pictures, this game can't do it.
and another very real fact of the main stream is carried over to the game. the writers. in the game your writers mean nothing. all they do is sit in a little room and give you gold, and yet like the stars, you can not look at a writers mood, change there salary, or really have any other concers than writing.
The Brothers Grimm (2005)
Horrible
This was just an awful picture. There was no character development, no good story line, very predictable dialog.
The acting was decent, but there was no help from the writer. In my opinion, I would have had the writer direct as well, I think that it would have brought a more personable sense to the screen, and final product.
Another horrible thing about the picture was the ending, it was just pointless, with no explanation. And the worst thing about it was that the music. It just lacked feeling and emotion. The score was almost absent any way, so it wasn't much different from the sound anyway.
V for Vendetta (2005)
Bring a Dictionary!!!
This was without a doubt the best film of 06 so far. the full effect of this movie can only be achieved in a theater, of a very expensive home theater.
It starts off with the tag line and continuing words of the movie narrated by Natily Portman, then it throws you on a two and a halve hour adventure of awesomeness.
V was perfectly played by Hugo weaving. Evey was another perfect casting job, by Natily Proman. (Who proved to be the sexist woman alive in this one) This was just such an intricate plot. If you go to the bathroom, just don't come back, because you will be very confused. But what got my attention was the dialog. It was so intelligent! You should read a dictionary before going.
Another great aspect was the very complex, and mysterious V. Who we know almost nothing about from the start to Finnish. He is so flipping smart, and witty, just a great Super Hero.
So, I highly recommend this movie to anyone who is looking for a great time. Hats off Wachowskiis, Hats off.
The Unit (2006)
Horrible, Just a load of CRAP
This is by far one of the most cliché, poor shows that i ever had the displeasure of watching.
I was on my computer at 9 the other night, my dad was watching t.v. when he said, Oh, my new shows is on. i didn't pay attention to it. but when i heard the start of the program, i knew that the next hour would be bad.
After about 15 minutes of horrible acting, writing and almost no plot, i had to leave. i would much rather get a root canal than have to watch another episode of that show.
My grade, F-. And that's just being nice.
Napoleon Dynamite (2004)
Gosh!!!
This was one of the funniest movies of the summer. OF THE SUMMER. i liked the film, very much like what my friends and i act like, then we film it, but after everyone started quoting it, i just lost interest. I cant stand when a person says a line from the movie that has been kiled, humped, and eaten for breakfast, i just feel less intelegent.
The film follows the life of Nepoleon, a country side city boy with an eccentric family, and loner friends. Not only was this movie entertaining, it kept you into the feeling of whats going to happen next. I would say plot, but I really couldn't find one.
But people really need to quit quotin that dang flippin' movie Gosh!
Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004)
Stay Classy
Oh my god!! The funniest Will Ferrell movie ever. this was without a doubt the best from the start of his career, and probably the best ever to come of one of the funniest people in showbiz. of course the supporting cast was awesome. This is one of the casts i would like to see in more then one film. (Unlike the Adam Sandler crew) Will Ferrell plays Ron Burgandy, the Anchorman o Sanfransico (A Whales Vagina in French) (Maybe) in the erly 70's. After the station that he works in hires there first female reporter, nothing but controvercy and comedy comes from it.
So, you stay classy Will Ferrell, Stay Classy.
Scrooged (1988)
At his Best!
I first watched scrooged when i was about 6 or 7. Much like The Nightmare Before Christmas, it scared the crap out of me. but having watched it just recently, i realize how flippin funny it is. Every joke is perfectly said. And at the right time too. Most movies push to much into to little, but the story flowed perfectly.
And Bill Murray's performance was great! The acting was superb. And hats off to the part of the drunken office man who is fired, i cant remember his name. And of course, one of the most memorable scores of his career, Danny Elfmans tone added the final layer to the film.
So Bill Murray, Well Playied Sir. Well Playied
GoldenEye (1995)
Why cant you just be a good boy and die?
Ahhh! this is like the 17th bond movie, is anyone as bord of them as i am. Sure, they are cool for about 5 films, but after i relised that he never gets hit after doging like 5 million bullets.
It's the mainstream crap that just kills me. The cheeze lines, predictable plots, everything is just ridiculess. It's like Tripple X with a touch of class.
Whats puzzles me is that there are so many people who would kill to direct a Bond film. It really needs to stop, unless they change the format, and work on some character development or something. So come on writers, and James, Why cant you just be good boy and die?
Pulp Fiction (1994)
This was divine intervention
This is to put quite simply the best or at least top 3 of the past ten years of film. I can not stress enough the brilliance of this movie. Like a gift from god.
Everything was perfect. From the casting to the plot, the acting, the music. But, by far the dialouge was what made the movie so magnificent. I mean come on, Uncomfrotible Silences. It's just so memorable. Or the hit men, who talk about meaningless topics, and switch in a second to killers.
Another great feature of the film is that it challenges you to think about the things that don't often enter your mind, but are puzzling to contemplate. It's all so good.
All in all, this script was truly divine intervention.
Reservoir Dogs (1992)
Lets get to work
As his first feature, i think that he handled it very well. The casting was awesome. Their was none else who could have played mr. pink like steve. And the other actors were just as skilled and the performances were great.
The other aspects of the film were just as perfect. Of course with any Terinteno film, great dialogue. And unlike any other crime movies, you can really get into the emotions that the characters are feeling. Like mr. white, with his compation, or mr. blond with his cool and in control role.
I think that this movie is up in the to 15 for me, a classic Terinteno film. If you haven't seen it, then lets get to work, and go out and rent it.
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (2005)
Visually Stunning
It was a visual masterpiece, but the story was horrible. For me it was like another lord of the rings movie. And the plot was so, used. I fell asleep around the middle, and had to watch it again. My guess, it tried to play to a younger audience, which it did. But i just can't get into it like some people. another porpbelm with the film is that it was the classic mainstream predictable. and that is one of the reasons that it didn't entertain me.
My cousin is my age, 17, and he loved it. But then again, he loved triple x and 8 mile, so if you liked those, maybe this is a movie for you.
Donnie Darko (2001)
A stroke of genius
I would give this movie a perfect rating. The dialoge, acting, plot, score, cinematography, everything was perfect. I first watched the directors cut, and then bought it immediately. Now after seeing the film for about the 7th time, I finally saw the theatrical version, and my opinion is that Richard Kelly should stick to writing and directing. If you are a first time indy watcher, the directors cut is for you, but if you think your ready for an opion fliping, puzzle that will keep you up thinking about it for weeks, then the theatrical version is what I would go for first, than watch the dictors cut to understand it better. My opinion, 12 out of 10
