Oppenheimer (2023)
A biased take from a Nolan fan
As a fan of Nolan, this is a biased review. Personally, it is not my favourite Nolan film, but one where, as Director, Nolan trusted his cast and loosened the reigns on control Outstanding performances all around, from the brief Casey Affleck appearance to the outstanding Alden Ehrenreich. Robert Downey Jr underlines why he is a master in this craft, it was a relief to see him shed the MCU costume majestically in this soft spoken yet resentful and powerful character. Even Josh Hartnett provides a powerful performance. I am appreciating this movie more and more as time passes from the viewing. I reckon due to the fact that I was expecting lots of special effects and a very controlled environment. And the more I think about it, the more I realise how Nolan focused on the talent and their performances retelling this important and relevant story. Florence Pugh shines more than she does in a leading role, what a performance, bold, strong. Emily Blunt gives Kitty so much force and presence. Their relationship is a clash of force and subtlety that provide balance reflected on screen.
Maybe it is precocious, but this could be Nolan's magnum opus.
Mare of Easttown (2021)
Excellent Series, Superb acting
Stellar performances all around, from Winslet to the supporting actors. Every single role is well-performed and has a purpose. This is sublime acting and narrative. Nothing goes to waste, there is absolutely no drag, everything is there for a reason.

Unexpected but appropriate and much needed indeed to keep warm.
Wow! What an episode.
Beautifully crafted, sensitive and involving.
What a Director. And what impeccable taste in music!!!
This is just a perfect exposition of the trance the main character is in at that moment in the narrative.
Just Wow.
