Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022)
Sensory overload!
This movie about meaninglessness is, ironically, equally meaningless.
Except for tiny emotional touches of depth near the end about the only emotionally engaging thing in the film; the dysfunctional family relationships, dysfunctional family patterns and how to grow as a person and not be a heartless robot going through the monotony of a self-chosen way of life.
They should've kept to the story and cut out completely useless and nonsensical headache and seizure-inducing visuals.
I suggest watching Dirk Gently instead for way more fun (eeaao wasn't funny in the slightest Except with the rocks) and more meaningful craziness. Also Cloud Atlas.
Aunty Donna's Big Ol' House of Fun (2020)
Not worth watching
It's just not funny. The humor is absolutely moronic, feels like you get dumber just watching this.
What it is is terribly cringeworthy.
It is desperately trying to be Monty Python-like but fails miserably.
Community (2009)
Just binged the series. Season rating, S1: 9/10. S2: 10/10. S3: 9/10. S4: 8/10. S5: 7/10. S6: 2/10.
I loved the first 3 seasons! Later on Pierce and Troy- probably my favourite character overall, were sorely missed. Eventually I think Abed- though one of the greatest characters, was exceedingly blown out of proportions and much of his speed-talking Sheldonesque metaness began to feel unneeded, but never mind that, at least he remains likeable- unlike Jeff, who just increasingly embraced his transformation into Super-Chad and master of solipsistic egotism. Seasons 3 and 4 were still good and had plenty, memorable fun, also new characters. 5 less so, but still pretty solid for sure.
Season 6 however was not alright, not even OK, it was just horrible and cringy to watch, like the worst episodes of TBBT. Every episode worse than the previous. Almost every ounce of humor somehow evaporated- except for Chan and the Dean once in a while. Abed was dead serious almost all the time since his sidekick left, together they were arguably the funniest. I for one really like Britta's character when she's political, edgy and Real, when so, more real and relatable than most anyone else on the show.
The commercial shtick ending was the most terrible nonsense ending I have ever seen to a show, just plain sad and painfully unfunny to watch. This show took one of the worst skydives ever imo. Opposite a show like Parks and Rec. Or Brooklyn 9-9 which keeps it going superiorly compared to the last two seasons in Community. But thanks for the first couple of seasons, great jokes and all, the last season, as it turned out, was itself the joke.
