Jeruzalem (2015)
Don't bother
This could have been good, but it suffered from the main character wearing the glasses on which it was all 'recorded' on being dumber than a pile of bricks, making constantly stupid decisions followed by much whining. I mean just shut up and die already. Predictable, badly writing, rubbish dialogue, badly filmed. Not quite as bad as Blair Witch but not far off. It's a typical found footage, US student slightly out of their depth out in the big bad world, don't go down into the dark place, where all the demons are, oh wait, not lets do that, it might just be ok type movie. The viewer is left with zero empathy for the characters, and the only thing to look forward to is how they are going to die. And even that was dull.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022)
One of the worst movies I've ever seen
Absolute utter crap. An incoherent mess from start to beginning. Who ever wrote this needs to go away and have a long hard think about themselves. The overacting would be bearable if the script and story line wasn't so bloody awful. Even the bright, shiny, sparkly special effects don't add anything to events. Someone's picked up a palette of of them and just thrown it at the screen and gone, yeah that will do. As is usual with such films there's too much shiny filler to pad out a flailing story and bolster cringe inducing dialogue. Unless you're an uber-fan (?) I wouldn't bother. If you're just looking for something to watch, I'd go find the nearest light switch and and just switch the light bulb on and off for two hours; ultimately it would be more entertaining.
Red Notice (2021)
Don't waste your time; painful to watch
This is really bad which is surprising considering who is in.
It's not funny, the characters are unbearably flat, one dimensional and seem to have zero common sense let alone any charisma. The storyline is lame, and the writing so bad I was glad when it was over. It is really bad.
NCIS: Season 15 - NCIS: Inside Season 15 (2018)
Really badly written
I have to say that the writers of series 15 NCIS should be ashamed of themselves, it's absolutely appalling; really, really stupid. It's like these people aren't even "special agents". The characters frequently completely forget their given skill set to bumble the plot along, they're flat, the humour's lost and all in all it's amazing they ever catch any bad guys.
Lone Survivor (2013)
If I was a Navy Seal I'd be embarrassed at this portrayal
Unbelievably gun-ho, bullet frenzy nonsense.
Stupid decisions followed by wasting of all their ammo.
Frustratingly bad movie.
The Last Legion (2007)
Bloody appaling
Truly awful, I can't believe how bad it is considering the cast. Badly acted, badly directed, the action scenes are laughable - there's no blood at all given the sword play. There's no sense of geography, how the hell do you get from Gaul to Hadrian's wall.. ? And as for Vortigen and his castle ahahaha.
It's not Exclabiur that's for sure.
Den of Thieves (2018)
A good cop chases bad guy movie with a twist...
I wasn't expecting much, I hadn't even heard of the movie and I only watched it because Pablo Schreiber had given such an outstanding performance as Mad Sweeney in American Gods.
It's an engaging cop chases crooks movie. Gerard Butler is a little 2d as the grubby cop compared to Pablo's gang leader who is excellent (steals the show). Good performances from the rest of the crew.
And the end, oh i did not see that coming at all, it lifted the whole movie a good 2 points...
Well worth a gander.

The King (2019)
Simply brilliant
This has become one of my favourite movies.
Yes some people moan about the historical accuracy but unless you are particularly interested in that period of history or a professional historian/archaeologist I don't think you're going to notice.
It was wonderfully written, fantastic dialogue, great story line, character arcs.
The casting was spot on
Everyone in it was bang on.
It looked great.
It had moments of suspense, humour, intrigue, and the end was quite moving.
The final moments of the movie were beautifully done.

Star Trek: Discovery (2017)
Visually polished but dull, predictable, and at times excruciating
Tedious beyond belief. The lead character Michael Burnham is a self absorbed, entitled brat. Why can't star trek do strong female leads?
The 'side' characters are much more interesting.
The story was dragged out to a predictable end of Michael sat in the Captain's chair, suffused with golden light and everybody lived happily ever after.
Some particular niggles: Why can nobody fight in star trek - oh yes, that's right, it's a science vessel, but surely going boldly etc there is the strong possibility that things might get a bit lairy, so you know, you'd think they might at least be a little bit prepared. And the space fight scenes... sometimes the ship is knocked out with barely a couple of well judged strikes, and other times it battles away like a good un, taking on whole fleets (last episode of s2) - make your mind up - which is it!?
The good bits, it looked great. The crew were engaging (haha see what I did there), and it was nice to see gender and neuro diversity handled so matter of factly and without glory seeking from the makers. It just was. As it should be. Welcome to the 21st Century.
But the story, and some of the character developments arcs were excruciating. I found myself shouting oh ffs at it on a number of occasions. If it wasn't for other people in the house wanting to watch it, I'd have given up on it.
