Network (1976)
The Real World
I believe this film is truly signifigent to this day in the corporate world. The first reason I believe its relatable is because company's and corporations do devastating things to make their money. The network shows this fact by killing Beale because he caused a drop in ratings. Beale was a person who saw the world in a different way and wasn't afraid to let others know his opinion, but sadly it got him murdered. I believe Jensen is very convincing in his monologue. He brings up valid points into his argument against Beale which changes his mind. I believe Network is considered a film due to it having a strong meaning behind it that is relatable to the world.
Brick (2005)
Outside of the Box
Brick is a very different film from other high school based movies. The dialog is sophisticated. Which I find a little hard to follow along with, but its what makes brick so different from other films. In the film we are introduced to a character Brain who is Brendan associate, which some people believe isn't real. I believe that statement is true considering the fact, just like in fight club with Tyler and The Narrator, you never see them together with other people in a scene. In the end Brick is great film that I truly enjoyed.
Chaplin (1992)
Chaplin
Chaplin was a fantastic film, that I personally felt captured his life in a great way. It showed how he was a great success, but still had a troublesome life. A problem I had with the film is the large jumps it took for example his marriages. I also felt they could have done a better job with the makeup at the end making Chaplin look old. But besides that I thought it was a great film.
The Artist (2011)
Genius
The artist is a fantastic film I truly enjoyed. You get to meet characters that you never hear speak but can't help but fall in love with. My favorite part of the film is in the dream where the main character could hear everything except himself such as the feather that creates the sound of an explosion. The Artist as a silent film also strongly captures how a person can go from the top of the food chain to hitting rock bottom and how a person needs to adapt to society. The Artist is an interesting silent film that develops such amazing ideas and I highly suggest watching it.
Flatworld (1997)
Flatworld
Flat world is a fantastic short film that I truly enjoyed. The way it was captured in stop motion was awesome and I like how they show that the characters are made up off paper. My favourite part of the film was seeing the transition they made when the characters went through the puddles.
