Emma. (2020)
PainfulOf both the levity and the heartbreak of the novel.
There is an endearing mischievousness about Emma that Taylor-Joy totally missed; her interpretation came across as heavy and humorless. In the beginning the music was so disorienting I thought I was in a Mary Poppins film. The whole film seemed like a cartoon and a very disjointed one. Romola Garai's Emma In the miniseries was fetching and delightful as was Alicia Silverstone In Amy Heckerling's high school version which was brilliant in capturing the spirit of the novel.
Good Luck to You, Leo Grande (2022)
Sad, loveless film
I love Emma Thompson, but this movie was just sad as well as poorly written and badly paced. A little love (even a very little) would have lended it the sparkle it lacked.
Country Crush (2016)
This movie is delicious
Have you ever tasted something both cheesy and super-yummy? That is this movie! It's terrible, but it's also irresistible and delicious, like "The Holiday," "Dirty Dancing," and "Romeo and Juliet" all rolled into one mouth-watering pastry.
