Consistently good script, well acted
16 December 2006
Spooks has, right from the 1st episode, maintained a tight, realistic approach. The acting is excellent as we have come to expect from most British drama productions and the characterizations are superb. After watching only a few episodes the viewer is drawn into each character's personality and when one of the stars is killed off it comes as a huge shock (eg 3rd Series, Episode 10). With particularly evil political masters, and background skulduggery, often leading to pragmatic solutions, it is extremely difficult to predict the outcome of each episode - something that isn't so hard with similar "spy" genres. It also manages to avoid the overuse of technology. The "technology solution" has been overworked elsewhere - especially in US productions, to the extent that it is now boring. This is a thinking person's drama - in that each viewer has to consider what they would do in similar moral or ethical situation. Keep up the good work.

Engineering Masterpieces
27 February 2006
This series showed what truly inspired engineers (and their wives) can achieve. All episodes are essential viewing for anyone aspiring to be an engineer. Their imagination, courage, dedication and persistence should be an inspiration to us all.

Each episode has amazing on-the-job footage. This footage is interfaced with expert and insightful documentary commentary, creatively supporting the exposition of the marvels being created.

The historically accurate (seemingly) and seamlessly integrated acting provides for riveting viewing.

A must see!
