Funny and heartbreaking in equal measures
29 October 2022
A visually beautiful movie; as an Irish person living in Western Canada this movie tugged at my heart strings. It's your typical Irish story, a backdrop of hardship, isolation and challenging times heavily sprinkled with a naive type innocence and humour. I loved the storyline with Jenny the donkey and how the movie portrays the loyalty and devotion of animals; on an island with little potential to find love, the animals provided some degree of hope. It's the kind of movie that you can't stop thinking about once it's finished. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would highly recommend it. It's a wonderful movie.

This was just what I needed

I've been experiencing some personal health issues lately and was feeling very fed up with my latest diagnosis when I came across this gem of a movie. I absolutely loved it. It has some great LOL moments, some sad moments and it really tugged at the heart strings. Both actors were phenomenal! And for those saying "what If the gender roles were reversed?", well they weren't so just enjoy the story as it was intended. What we have is a lovely movie with two wonderful consenting characters, each benefiting from the company and wisdom of the other. I highly recommend and I adored the Dancing scene/music. The world needs more Leo's and lovely movies like this.

Light hearted, inoffensive comedy
21 January 2022
I love Matt Berrys work. While I agree this was not as funny as Toast of London I still really enjoyed this series. It's a totally different type of funny; it's silly, it's inoffensive and has some great laugh out loud moments. I especially enjoy Toasts over pronunciation of words such as Mo-t-ion Picture and Tele-vizzz-ion (tv). I look forward to the next series and hope Toast made it out alive.

The Morning Show (I) (2019– )

Strong first season. Disappointing second season.

Whoever wrote Season 2 needs to be taken off this show asap! The amount of woke nonsense churned out in each episode was enough to turn me off after Ep3. My partner and I are over this show, which is a shame as the 1st season was so enjoyable. Season 1 was a solid 8/10. Season 2 was a 3/10; I'm giving it three as I like the set design, Chip and views of Lake Como.

Entertaining cheesefest

This is worth a watch; the acting and CGI is so pathetic that it's hilarious. The cast is good but the movie is just so bad.... so cheesy it's cringe worthy!

Easy and heart-warming viewing.

I thoroughly enjoyed this series; it is a great watch especially during this dreary period of Covid-19 isolation. I enjoy listening to Karl anyway as he offers a completely unique and funny insight into the most mundane ordinary things. This series has a great mix of happy and sad moments, heartwarming yet slightly heartbreaking situations and the actors/characters are all very well chosen to compliment the story lines. The soundtrack is really good too and you can download it on Spotify. Great work by all on this series, Karl has a real talent for this line of work and I hope to see something like this again.
