Lost: The Little Prince (2009)
Season 5, Episode 4
9/10
Lost = Science fiction
9 February 2009
Warning: Spoilers
After 3 and a half seasons of not knowing, this season is a full blown sci-fi show.. and i love it! A lot of people actually don't like the whole time-travelling-thing, but i think it works really well(way better than in heroes.. flamewar!!). I also love that the shows has gone to answering-mode. Every episode gives you 4-5 answers to really big mysteries. You can't complain that the biggest mysteries stay unanswered for now.. we still got more than one season ahead.. and after all the episodes are so dense that i can't even think of anything more to put in there. Awesome. Hopefully we'll see rousseau's backstory through the next weeks! Btw.. loved how the title fooled me to think it was about aaron.

Stay (I) (2005)
10/10
brilliant

do you know how it feels to die? me either, but i think "stay" catches this feeling very well. it's so sad, thrilling and so beautiful at the same time and it definitely doesn't feel real. the camera work and the visual effects are stunning. the acting is superb through the whole cast (bob hoskins: great supporting actor in this movie) in special cases the fact that you don't or just partly understand the story is the best thing about a movie.. this is one of those. there are lots of freaky scenes where nothing is clear and everything seems to follow some kind of dream-logic. stay is one of the years best at this point and i think i'll watch it some more times.. maybe i'll get it.

Silent Hill (2006)
4/10
my pulse doesn't change
15 May 2006
I played the game(s) and was so nervous about seeing it on the big screen.. the trailers made big promises about how the film will look and feel and in the end it looks the same but it feels so lame. the movie more than 2 hours long and that's about one hour to much. almost every single shot in the first half is to long. the narration is very cheap and the dramaturgy is, i would simply say, bad. the most important parts of the story are told by dialog and most of the time you haven't got a clue about what's going on. I think that's the biggest problem of the whole movie. the horror-sequences well made and look and sound really disturbing but because there is no logical (in the reality of the movie) cause for them to happen you're not scared, you don't feel suspense you don't wanna scream to the actors, you just think: man, that looks damn nice but what the f*** is it all about. this feeling stays the whole movie and because of this problem the whole movie doesn't work. i'd say the movie is worth his money if you wanna see and hear some cool effects and get a little glimpse of hell, but if you wanna see a compelling and thrilling movie you simply won't get it with silent hill

bad plot, bad actors, bad director, bad cgi, but still not so bad film
18 April 2006
good god, this movie sucked.. but in a certain way that made it watchable. the plot is, like in the other two movies easily explained: one of the teenagers (played by 25somethings) has a flash-forward showing her that they are all gonna die blah blah blah.. this is stupid and since part two it's old and boring either. the dialogs are so damn dump that i had to laugh loudly a few times and the acting sucked hard too. the only thing that was quite good in this movie where the deaths, but only when watched separated from the plot and without any claim of logic.. they are prepared with a cool kind of suspense, when you know its gonna happen but you don't know when and how.. i'll give it a 3 to 4 out of 10

Shutter (II) (2004)

not different
28 February 2006
i have seen many Japanese horrorfilms and i have to say that some of them are really interesting but they are all pretty much the same. this one is no exception. the ghost is a black haired girl, that scares it's victims by doing nothing else than walk and look dead.. the difference is just the motive for the haunting. the rest is the same as every time: black haired girl, strange things happening with some media (photos), creepy acting. while watching this flick i constantly found myself asking why i was wasting my time watching stuff that someone else has done so much better before. some scenes where quite nice though, i'll give it 3 out of 10

brilliantly bad
14 February 2006
i just bought this movie for 2bucks thinking that it will surely be worth it's cost... and i was so right!! i saw it with a friend of mine and we just loved it's (mostly intended) badness. There are movies that are just bad and then there are these flicks that are so freaking' bad that they are really entertaining. the movie made me really laugh hard a couple of times and Tony Curtis just rocked being this bad producer. the day after i watched it i immediately wanted to watch it again.. and if that's not positive about a film.. for a movie as "b" as one movie could be, the cast isn't that bad: Tony Curtis and Patrick McNee are two stars of the 80ies, starring here and they do a good job (being bad). the story is really strange: i mean a lobster man and his adjutant, an ape with a spacehelmet, stealing earth's air for the mars is not a common thing in Hollywood. the characters are all very funny and the story is except for some lengths in the middle very amusing.. i'll give it an 9 out of 10
